  1. It did not cost me any more that I know of. I don't know if the ap port and they low profile port are the same????? Maybe someone else could answer that question for you. The ap port is a fairly new port by INAMED. My doctor chose to use the small port. There is some good info on this site about the ap port. Do a search for it and read away. Best of luck on your surgery. jmom710, You are right the staff at dr querry's office are great. Shannon has really made me feel comfortable about the surgery and recovery. I think a good relationship with your doc and staff plays a huge part in this process being successful
  2. Here is a link to the thread about how my day went. Thank you all for your prayers and support. I couldn't wait to get home to tell everyone how it went.
  3. Today I have had Water, 1 popsicle and about 1/2 container of sf Jello. The gas is a little worse tonight. I tried to lay down and can't lay flat in the bed. My dh helped me stack pillows and that has helped a ton. My doc said that I can start full liquids tommorow and yes, I can do creamed soups that are thinned. She reccomends soup at hand but thinned a little more. I am not hungry at all. Oh and BTW I brought 3 extra pounds home from the hospital with me. I'm sure it is fluids. Praying for a speedy recovery for you, Godzgurl. Have yall heard from artzgirl?? I wonder how her day went!!
  4. I slipped up a few times too. That is why I was afraid she would not be happy with me. Overall I did well. I lost 13 pounds on the liquid diet. If you have a bad day just regroup and get back at it. Where do you live?? I just love Dr Querry. Her bedside manner is wonderful.. She even gave me her cell phone number in case I have any questions. I live in Pittsburg, Tx. If Dr Querry is banding you then you must not be too far away. Amy
  5. godzgirl!! I am so glad you are home and doing well. I look forward to great progress, healing, and recovery for both of us. GOD IS GREAT...ALL THE TIME...ALL THE TIME...GOD IS GREAT!!!!!!!!

  7. I live 3 miles from the hospital. My doctor gave me her cell phone number incase I need anything. I am also an RN. But sometimes nurses make the worst patients. I really feel like I am doing great!!

  12. Oh yeah, She said that my liver looked great!!! She was very proud of my weight loss during the preop diet!!!! I was afraid she would be disappointed!!! YOU GO AMY!!!!! WHAT AN AWESOME BAND DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Today was my big day!!! I got home about 5 this eventing. I had to stay a few hours post of because when I would fall asleep my O2 Sat would drop(even with oxygen and my cpap). I feel much better than I thought I would. I received the new ap lapband small. It was the first one my doctor had placed. She had to make that incision a litle larger and said that I had a little bleeding so I may be more sore there. She said that the band is pretty snug and has about 3cc of saline in it. I am drinking Water without any difficulty. I also had a popsicle. I haven't been brave enought to try anything else. My left shoulder hurts a bit, but I know its just gas. The heating pad really helps. I am kinda scared to go to sleep tonight for fear that I will not remember to breathe after the o2 sat problems that I had at the hospital. I'm sure that I will be fine. Honestly, I feel SOOOOO much better than I expected, but still plenty sore. Thank you all for your support and prayers. I look forward to hearing updates from the others who were banded today as well!!! I HAVE A LAPBAND WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo:

  17. Just got home. I am doing well. Had to stay a few hours because my O2 saturation was a little low. Not surpirising since I have sleep apnea. I am sore, but doing well. No nausea so far. I am fixing to lay down. I will post more when I get up. Thanks for all the prayers. Please continue to pray for quick recovery. Amy
  18. Good night all. Tommorow is band day!!!!!! I have everything ready here. I am praying for a good night sleep and a very uneventful banding tommorow. I will check in when I get home. Thanks for the prayers and support. Amy
  19. Ok, I have done measurements, pictures, bath, shaved, packed my bag, cleaned house, and done all the laundry. Man, no wonder I am ready for bed. We have to be at the hospital at 7:30am. My surgery should be between 8:30 and 9:00. Thankfully, I live about 3 miles from the hospital, so I plan to be home early tommorow evening. I will let everyone know how it goes. I wil say a prayer for you as well, Artzygirl. Good night all. Tommorow is band day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. I got a manicure and pedicure today. I rarely do anything for myself. In fact, I informed my husband last week that this week (my surgery is tommorow) was going to be all about me. Wow, That is really big for me. In fact none of my family knows how to act, but they are going along with it pretty well. I am enjoying my special week. I think I could get used to this.
  21. Only positive thoughts!!! Positive thoughts!!!!!
  22. Thanks you guys. I got a french manicure so that they can still check for circulation. There was nothing on my day surgery instructions about polished nails. Oh well, if they take it off, it was very relaxing and a treat for myself that I rarely ever do. They may have to take it off one nail to put the pulse oximeter probe. I will check in with you all after my surgery. I am certainly ready to move to the banded side of this journey.
  23. Griz Girl, I share those same fears. I am not so much worried about the surgery as I am making this band work. I have failed at so many diets. I REALLY want this to be it for me. I want to lose this darn weight for the LAST time. I look forward to hearing how you did!! It's going to be an awesome bandster week. Amy
  24. Thanks wishes. My doc does measurements and a picture preop and then at 1 year post op. I have been really impressed with them. I will be the first patient that she uses the AP band on. I just got home from getting a manicure and pedicure. I am soooo ready. I wll post as soon as I get home
