  1. WAY TO GO KATHY!! I'm sure you rocked the interview!!
  2. I watched too, and I agree. The 2 daughter/mom groups really get on my nerves. They seem kinda lazy. I was really proud for the yelow team dad. He has really worked hard. He looks 20 years younger. I think i like the orange team, but the verdict is still out!!
  3. Ok, I went to the doctor yesterday, and everything is set. I am having a tt, tl, and mons lift on October 24. She is going to carry the tummy tuck incision all most all the way around my back to get my "love handles". We had a really good visit. I don't know if I have mentioned, but my surgeon is my lapband doctor. She is a general surgeon, not a plastic surgeon. In the beginning I wasn't sure which way to go, but I am very confident in her. The only draw back is that she doesn't do lipo, so no lipo for me, but I am an employee of the hospital so I will get a large discount. However, the main reason I am having her do it is because I feel really comfortable with her, and i trust her. She said that she will probably remove 8-10 pounds. I will have anywhere from 2 to 4 drains. I will stay in the hospital overnight. I have to wear compression garments for 6 weeks. She will put a binder on me and wrap my trunk in surgery. Before discharge the following morning she will put me in my compression garment. We had a really good visit and I am ready to go. I had gained 1 pound and don't have much restriction. She didin't want to put anymore saline in my band right now. She said that my focus for the next 3 weeks needs to be gearing up for surgery not losing a bunch of weight. She said to eat lots of Protein. I am still hoping to shed a few pounds between now and then, but I will follow her advice. I do want to be ready for surgery so that I will heal well. ONLY 23 MORE DAYS!!
  4. Sending prayer up for kathy and Lyn today!! Welcome back Sugar!! You can do this!! We are all rooting you on. Good luck back at school Luluc!! You are a brave woman.. I went to run with my Nike+ for the first time last night. Got there and realized my battery on my ipod was dead. ARGHHH!! I charged it on the way to the track and it last 1 1/2 miles, so I could log a little bit. Anyway, I will run again today!! Have a great day everyone!!
  5. I'm staying on plan today because I saw my PS yesterday and I have GAINED a pound. YUCK!!
  6. Kathy, your plan sounds great! I can really tell that you are all in it with this running deal. Way to go!!
  7. The really cool thing is that we could have challenges among just us. Like most miles in a month. If you go to Salsa's blog, on the left side there are some challenges that she is currently in. Whosya does this. I pm'd him today to ask how the challenges work. That would be really cool for us ladies to do together. If I understand correctly, you can wear the sensor with any type of shoe. The Nike+ shoe just has a built in place for it under the sole so you can't feel it at all, but I think I read where Whosya said that he wears it with different shoes. I don't remember for sure. Salsa's blog is www.salsa1877.blogspot.com Ok, I am goign to fix supper now. I have not heard from Bonnie!! Where are you Bonnie? We know you are long since home from vacation!! Come out come out wherever you are!!!!
  8. Sounds like you are ready, Luluc. Way to go on 4 miles. That is totally awesome. I took my birthday money and went shopping today. I got new running shoes, and they feel SOOOO good. I also got the nike+ipod sport kit. It is the thing you see some of the people on LBT doing challenges with. It tracks your runs. It tracks time, distance, speed, etc. It plugs into your ipod. I love it. I am just figuring out how to use it, but I really think I am going to like it. IF you are interested in reading about it go to Nikeplus.com. I know Whosya usees it. maybe he can give us some pointers.
  9. I forgot to tell yall the funniest, most emberrasing thing that happened to me this weekend. I told yall in an earlier post that DH bought me a tshirt that says, "Support Local Music, Sleep with a Musician". He plays guitar an thought it was really cool. Well....Saturday I ran in the barbeque place to get some lunch to go. He and the boys waited in the car. The owner of the store kept looking at me. I was clueless. Then he said, "I play in a band." OMGosh my face turned so red. Then he said, "I play guitar and I sing lead. That oughta count for 2 shouldn't it!" I was so red. I told him that my husband bought me the shirt and got out of there as soon as I could. Wild thing is, he wasn't bad looking. I have not been hit on in YEARS!! I was so embarresed. When I got to the car I told DH. He was beeming proud. LOL He is so funny. I told him that I am never wearing the shirt again. He disagrees. Instead of being jealous, he is beeming proud. He just cracks me up. Gotta love a confident man!!
  10. WAY TO GO KATHY!!! Love the pics. Luluc, you will do great on Friday. You are my hero  I have been pretty lazy today. I decided since I have been eating and behaving as if I were skinny and without the need to watch anything I eat or do I might as well finish out the weekend. Tommorow morning its back to the basics for me. I have enjoyed my break. Now it is time to get ready for PS!!!!
  11. I'm home! We had a great time. I ate too much. We are home. Just caught up on the posts. Way to go Fanny!! Here are some of my fav songs to run to. 12. Kathy, you are so funny. I didn't even think about that when we were loading the 4wheelers. I guess it's time for round 2.
  13. HeatherO, my ticker and stats are always one directional. I never go back. Glad you are "filled" and back on track. WOWOx7, Way to go on 100lb!! Nuke-Welcome back!! I also have wondered about you!!!
  14. It's my birthday!!! There is no plan. :tongue2:
  15. You are doing great Lyn!! Way to go on the size 10. Leslie, It is so good to see you moving again. I can "hear" your enthusiasm in your posts. We stayed up late claning the camper last night. This morning I am finishing laundry and getting things packed. DH took the camper with him to work and will head out to the land when he gets off. He loaded the 4 wheelers and attached the trainler to my Expidition, so I think we are just about ready to go. I don't have internet in the woods, so I won't be on from this evening until Sunday afternoon. Yall don't have too much fun without me!! I probably won't do any "organized" running over the weekend, just lots of 4 wheeler riding. My best friend lives close to our land so we are going to spend some time with her on Saturday. I know yall probably didn't need my agenda for the weekend. I am just so excited to get out and have fun. It should be a beautiful weekend!!
  16. Do you know why your PS won't do them together??
  17. Way to go Tootie. I say go for the 5K. There is no shame in walking part of it. Finishing is finishing, and there is nothing quite like that feeling. Sorry about the bees Kathy. Yuck!! Congrats on the outfit!! Can't wait until you are able to get it! I walked with the boys yesterday. I have been power walking more than running since the 5K. After surgery I won't be able to run for awhile, and I am working with DS so he can run with me, so I have slowed down a little to his pace. I am REALLY ok with that. It is such a joy for him to be so interested in running. I am hoping by the time I recover from surgery he will be ready to run with me. DH is getting home early tonight. He is supposed to go to the track with us!!
  18. I'm staying on plan today because I did yesterday, and my best band buddy is counting on me!!
  19. renewedhope replied to a post in a topic in The Gals' Room
    You go girl!!!
  20. Thanks for the reassurance. I am working on a list so we can nail everything down on Tuesday.
  21. Dr, I have a question in regards to the vertical vs horizontal incision. My excess skin is primarily below the belly button. I have a waist now and do not look boxy. Without doing the vertical incision will I maintain my shape. I am not looking for more curves. I jsut don't want to lose the ones I have. I am having the muscle repaired, but really I just have a lot of skin that needs to be removed, but maintaining my curves is important to me.
  22. Ok, I wasn't going to opst about this at all, but here I go. I called the doctor's office ealier thsi week to find out about ordering compresion garments, etc. I mentioned to to lapband coordinator that I am going to ask my Dr if she is comfortable considering doing a 360 lift. Well, i guess it wouldn't actually be a 360 lift, just extending the tt incision all the way around and removing the skin on my butt and back during the surgery. I set up an appointment for the week of surgery. Then the next day the lady called back and said that I need to come in next week to talk with my Dr to make sure we are all on the same page. This is a very good idea. I will be able to ask questions and DH is going to come with me so he can ask questions, too. She said that my Dr doesn't remember telling me that she would do my thighs. Ok, that is where I am freaking. She sees lots and lots of patients, so I certainly can understand that she wouldn't remember the details of our visit. That is why the preop visit is so important. My concern is What if she decides not to do the thigh lift? When I saw her before she said that my thighs are not bad at all. She said that usually she goes from inner thigh to the knee, but she will only go half way down my thigh because that is all I will need. I'm sure when she sees my skin again, she will remember and all will be set as planned. I really trust her completely and would rather her do this surgery than anyone else, but it is important to me to do thighs, mons, and tummy all together. I am going to do arms and breast lift later. I want this all done in 2 surgeries if possible. So, please tell me to chill out. I'm sure it is just pre surgery jitters. I just want everything to flow perfectly..
