When will I feel like a NORMAL Person again!!!!!!
If me, preband was normal then I don't EVER want to be normal again. I always want my band to be a reminder to me. I always want to be cautious of what I put it my mouth. It is defniately a major adjustment, but you can adjust. Stick with the rules, and embrace your NEW normal!!

October Exercise Challenge
I am pooped from my run. I am copying another post to keep from typing this again. So, those of you who are on both threads so sorry for the repitition. Ok, it's official, I am crazy. My in laws took the boys for the night so I decided that it is time to run. I used to work at the hospital here in town and it isn't that far, so I decided that I would run to the hospital. Both of my parents and by best friend work there, so if I don't want to run home then I can get one fo them to bring me. So off I go. I made really good time and made it to the hospital. It was 2.4 miles. So, I went in and neither my parents or my best friend were there. Well, I guess that decided it for me. It would have been smart to call ahead!! Anyway, I ran back home and then .2 miles on the treadmill for a total of 5.01 miles. My time was 48:37 (not including my walk inside the hospital to find my family and friend not there). My pace was 9:42 minute per mile. Wow, 5 miles.

October Exercise Challenge
I love to dance around the house with all my cool moves, but only for the kids. It is so funny, I dance around all day, but I don't even do my dance moves when DH is home. I would feel silly, but for some reason it is ok to be that silly with little boys. They dance right along and think I am way cool. I told Dh that one of these days I will be confident enough to show him my moves. He just laughs at me. Maybe Zumba is just what I need to come out of my dancing closet.

October Exercise Challenge
I looked up Zumba, and it looks really cool. The closest 1 to me is an hour away. I may have to order the videos. I don't have a lot a rhythm, but it just looks so fun. Maybe I can learn to "move".

Ask Dr. Schulman...
Have you called your doctor yet to let them examine you to determine if there is a problem with your band? Being this far out from surgery, I would think a follow up and evaluation of your nausea is indicated. My doctor would want to know.

Kareyquilts: Arms, Butt & Thighs, Oh My!
"I say stay focused on your goals, breath and think positive thoughts! Sorry if I wrote an essay! Just take deep breaths and try and not let others fears overwhelm you!" Karey, the above is a quote from a response you made on my ps thread in response to my Dad's concerns about my surgery. I know this is a little different, but fear is fear. Yes, the economy is not great right now, and, honestly, we probably don't want a crystal ball. I look at it like this, With the economy as it is, this may be my only opportunity to do this for myself. We have all worked so hard to get where we are, and I want to look as good as I feel (yes, I stole that from Dr Shulman's add. I love it) So, I say, back up and revisit your goals, your reasons why you are doing this. Then, if you choose to go forward, do it without shame and guilt.

Low Carb Banders Unite
Welcome Slim. I eat no more than 30 net carbs daily. Net carbs are total carbs minus dietary fiber. I also eat high protein. I avoid all processed carbs. I really don't eat much bread at all. The only exception is an occasional low carb tortilla. You will have really bad sugar cravings for a few days and then your body will go into ketosis. This is where you really start burning fat. Hang in there, the cravings are rough, but once in ketosis they go away. Do a search for low carb or Atkins Induction. Hope that helps.

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
Glad he seems to be doing better. We have been a bit under the weather here today too. My 23 month old has a staph infection on his knee. It was a mosquito bite that got infected. It looks better tonight, but really hurts him. If fact I just got through putting him back to bed because he woke up crying. I didn't run today. Last night i started hurting in my right side/abdomen. I am hurting where my appendix are. Yes, I still have them. I don't have any fever so I refuse to believe that it is my appendix. I'm thinking that since starting back on low carb I may be a wee bit constipated, so I took some Miralax and the night off. I plan on being well and good to go in the morning. Everyone sleep well. Goodnight.

So sorry Georgia. Dalton had croup when he was little. We ended up in the ER too. Very scary. We will be praying for a quiet, restful night. So sorry he is sick.
