  1. I got my date (November 19, 2014). So excited. ???? I have even stated getting ready for the 2 weeks liquid diet. During the day I've been drinking the protein drinks along with all types of liquids, like broth, jello and ice pops. I eat dinner when I get home. Then 2 days last week I went the entire day liquids. I did good. My family helped by cooking dinner, I went into my bed room ????. This test really helped me. The thought of going cold turkey all at once was causing me stress. I lost 10 pds already. I even thought of not doing the surgery but I know the 10 pds won't stay off if I don't get the lap ban. I took the 10 pd loss as a sign that I am ready for this and I can do it. Lisa

  4. This is very helpful. What type of protein drink? This is a big issue for me, scared of this more than the surgery. I am still at least 1.5 months away from this part of the process but I have been eating jello, pudding, soup and shakes ( no protein) just to get ready. The first few days I did not feel well, so I am going to try your suggestion about eating every 1.5 hours ( setting my phone to tell me when to eat). Thanks for sharing.
  5. Did anyone take a diet pill when they had to fast for the 2 weeks before the surgery?
  6. This was so helpful. So many of my questions were answered, I have a family also and the thought of getting through two weeks without any food is extremely difficult for me. Getting the lap band surgery is so scary for me, but I am scared not to get it. I am so happy that I found this app, it has been so helpful. I was driving my husband crazy with all of my questions, concerns apprehensiveness. Talking to people who understand is so helpful.
  7. All of the information is so very helpful. I do have one additional question, how were you able to get through the two weeks of a liquid diet if you had a family. How do you prepare dinner, that is more willpower than most people have.
  8. My name is Lisa and I am about to get the lap band surgery. I have so many questions going on in my head, but one main question is can you see or feel the port. From some of the YouTube videos that I have reviewed they claim that you can. Has anyone else experienced that.
  9. My name is Lisa and I am just starting my lap band journey. I must admit this decision is a little scary for me. I am having a hard time understanding how you can survive on 3 ounces of food per meal. Is it the way that I think about food? Which is years of training from childhood. I am trying to get to the core reason why I am so scared, and I keep coming back to the 3 ounces of food. I know something must change I am 5feet, 200 pounds, and 48 years old and I have tried everything. How did you get past the way we think about food. Maybe you're not hungry, but do you crave the things that were so use to eating Thanks for listening.
