psych eval mmpi2
If you're doing the MMPI2, it's 567 multiple choice questions. It takes some time...

Creating a new group?
Not sure if this group ended up getting set up, but I'd like to be included. I'm scheduled for 11/13.

psych eval mmpi2
I did the MMPI2 too. Honestly, it was a super easy process. The first appt was about 30 minutes of weight loss attempts and what I was hoping to accomplish with surgery. Then, too the test. One month later, we reviewed the results of the test, revisited realistic surgery expectations, and off I went. It was totally no big deal.

Any November Sleevers?
I start my liquid diet on Thursday too. Mine is 4 Protein shakes per day and as many <10 calorie beverages as I want. I go clear liquid on the 11th. My surgery isn't until 2:30, so they said I will likely be in the hospital 2 nights. I go back to work on the 20th. Sounds like we're in about the same deal!

Anyone scheduled for 11/12?!?!
I'm scheduled for 11/13.

Insurance approval!
I just received a message from my insurance that my request was approved!! Officially on for the 13th!

Nervous and need encouragement!
If your looking for those types of answers, you might want to post on the post-op side. But welcome! I'm scheduled for November 13th.

Did anyone have to lose a LOT of weight to qualify for surgery?
I was required to lose 10%.

Most common complication of Sleeve?
I think the most common are likely a leak or a stricture. The RN on my case said the only complication she's seen is one DVT.

Surgery Tomorrow
Hang in there! I'm sure I'll be feeling the same way in two weeks, and I think it's normal!

What was your psych eval like?
I took the MMPI-2. My second appt was about 20 minutes. He told me that he could tell from the test that I was skeptical about taking the test (there were grammar issues the bothered me) and that I internalize my emotions. That was about it. He didn't have any concerns, so I was good to go.

Taking the first step.. I need advice
Have you been to the doctor over the last 5 years, even if it wasn't specifically to discuss weight loss? As long as they recorded your weight, that is likely what insurance is looking for.

MN - Minneapolis/St.Paul
I really will make it to one of the GTG's, but I won't be able to make it on the 15th. I'll only be two days post-op and will likely just be getting out of the hospital.

TMI - bowel prep questions...
Thanks everyone! Sounds like if I take it Tuesday morning, I should be fine to go to work on Wednesday.

TMI - bowel prep questions...
Just had my pre-op appt today and we were talking about the bowel prep. My surgery is on 11/13, so I'm supposed to drink the bowel prep stuff the morning of the 11th. It sounds like I should probably try to make arrangements to work from home on the 11th, but what about the 12th? I have no idea what to expect in regards to this, as I've never done a bowel prep before...

Where are the November Sleevers?
Just got done with my pre-op appt. I will have a 5-6 day liquid diet because I agreed to participate in a clinical study, which requires a stool sample one week before surgery (before starting the liquid diet and/or bowel prep). Still haven't received the final insurance approval, but they were going to call on it today.

Last appointment with dietitian today....
That's awesome! Insurance received the request on Tuesday, still waiting on a response. She said they can take up to 14 calendar days, but the NUT said that they normally have a response in less than a week...

Where are the November Sleevers?
My surgeon does not require an EGD. He said that if he seems a hiatal hernia during surgery, he will fix it.

Where are the November Sleevers?
Insurance received my prior authorization form on Tuesday. Just waiting on a response... Hoping to still be fine for 11/13. I have bloodwork, EKG, and pre-op physical scheduled for Monday. Pre-op diet is set to begin on 10/31.

Where are the November Sleevers?
I'm scheduled for November 13th. I should have insurance approval within the next couple of days. I have my pre-op appts on 10/27 and will likely start my pre-op diet on 10/31.

Any November Sleevers?
I'm currently waiting on a response on insurance approval. Met with the surgeon on Thursday. The clinic tells me that they typically hear back in about 2 days. Fingers crossed!!

SERIOUS Business question for business people (not totally off topic)
I'm a CPA and I say that it depends on the position. I don't deal with external clients very often, so the only people who would see tattoos are internal (I have a tattoo on the top of my foot). But, I just hired an employee who is going to be dealing with the public and it was stressed that it's important to hide her piercings/tattoos while not at her desk. Personally, if I was the hiring manager, I would be more turned off by the tight shirt than the tattoos.

Psych appointment help
He told me that I tend to internalize my emotions and that I should work on expressing them, but otherwise I'm good to go.
-
Psych appointment help
Just answer honestly. The psych told me before I took the test that we all have good days and bad days but to answer whatever was representative of "most of the time."

Psych appointment help
I had to take the MMPI2, which was 567 multiple choice questions. It was very super basic (Which career would you rather have? Would you rather go to a party or stay home? Etc). I'm sure there are many different types of tests though.
