  1. Cleveland here too! My out of pocket expenses were going to be crazy with Cleveland Clinic so i chose to do my WLS at St. Vincent Charity hospital. No complaints there, everything has gone smooth and the team is great. I just finished most of my pre op appointments it feels good to be this far along. I have two more nutritionist appointments... last one should be October 3rd! I do need to check with tge office but I don't have a surgery date yet, anyone know how long it usually takes to get a surgery date after ins approval? And when did you start your 2wk pre-op liquid diet? I like to be prepared lol... Just trying to figure out a timeline
  2. Wow. Have you been tired and fatigued during the day? Shouldn't push back surgery. They'll just send you for your machine and mask fitting. Should get a lot better after surgery Hey Nurselori, the thing is I never noticed! I have always kept busy with multiple jobs working 11 hr shifts and overtime. Also i finished art school a few years ago and pulled tons of all nighters while in school... I guess i just thought my lifestyle of staying busy and being overweight kept me tired! lol I'm glad I went ahead and did the test my doc had said that out of the bariatric patients he tests 80% of the time they will come back positive even when they have barely any symptoms i hope this surgery fixes it..I'm even more excited to get to October now!
  3. I am in the same boat as all of you! !! I am so obssessed. I have been thinking about this surgery for years...but money and health issues prevented it... it's almost like a dream that's finally coming true! I take lots of phone calls during work and it's been soooo hard to concentrate. I am always on my phone looking at the forums or on my tablet reading kindle books about WLS while talking calls....sometimes i need to shut off my phone&tablet lol. I was talking A LOT to my family and friends about it too but I don't want to annoy them. I think its great to have this forum to go to. I don't think its a bad thing to obssess... i think it just shows how excited we are to be making these changes!!!
  4. So I just received the results back from my home sleep test. My doc said he did this just as a precaution ... but it looks like I have severe sleep apnea! And i have to do another test in the clinic overnight. I am so shocked. .. Did anyone else have to go through this? And will it keep me from having surgery in October?
  5. Hoping to have my surgery in October too! I just have a couple more appointments with the dietitian and then I will get to schedule the actual date
  6. 3 Months will fly by!! I just started my 6 months of supervised weight loss, THAT feels like it wll take forever. What is your pre op diet like? Kheartskat, I hope so! i worded that wrong!- its just my 3 month supervised diet which my NUT has me doing high protein and low cal . I think she wants me to lose 5% of my body weight..and then i will do the 2 week pre-op liquid diet after ins approval... I guess I just feel like it has already been forever... I thought about doing this surgery several times over the past 10 yrs and I am just now figuring it out! I was so overwhelmed everytime I looked into this surgery that I would change my mind and try another 'fad' diet. This time has been different though, its been so easy... I feel like this is the right time for me to do this! I'm glad to see other people just starting this journey, I definitely NEED some buddies to get through this diet and surgery, I know I've already got my fiance who is behind me 100% but I have already had some unsupportable and judgey friends/ family
  7. Hey Lisa I feel the same way! Sick and tired of it... i have constantly been on a diet since I was 14 and I am turning 28 this year! At my highest weight right now 369 and I feel so good about this decision! Just started the diet a couple weeks ago. Its going to be about 3 months if this before i can schedule my surgery. How is your diet going?
  8. Just started my journey the first week of july# I'm so excited to finally be doing this! On the pre op diet now for 3 months and I feel like this wait is going to be forever!
