  1. Hey - Im having surgery on the 26th..Im headed to Tijuana - where is your surgery? And how are you doing on your pre-op?
  2. In case you havent found it yet - this is the blog of the things you will need at the hospital - written by those who have done it... http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/181994-the-official-what-you-will-need-for-your-gastric-sleeve-surgery-thread/?hl=%20what%20%20bring%20%20the%20%20hospital
  3. dont be sorry - I expect we are all having surgery somewhere different. I just wanted people to talk to that are having the surgery on the same day as me! I am mostly excited - I have moments of panic - like Im forgetting something - like Im not sure what to pack - cause I have a 5 hour flight and a 5 day stay - Im not sure what to pack for myself and my husband. Then because its Mexico - I have nightmares at night - of not being able to get back in the country. I know its all nerves... but its real in the moment. Ive been doing ok on the liquid diet... so far Ive been able to have Soups that fit certain cravings. So doing ok for now... the clear liquid diet I think is going to be tough tho. But I look at it - this is a decision I made to go thru with - no sense whining about it - Im doing this to myself... for a better me.
  4. Barngirl - I will be arriving in Tijuana on the 25th for a 26th surgery - which hospital will you be at? I will be at Mi hospital with Dr Cabrera
  5. Hi Zee - so glad you foudn this page - I love the page with all the August surgeries and everyones posts of fears and hints - but I also wanted date specific friends that I can talk to! Where is your surgery going to take place?
  6. Hi Monique - Im Sandi also doing August 26. I started pre-op diet modified 3 weeks ago - and now Im already on the all liquid diet. I had a required weight loss before surgery. Hey I started a August 26 Surgery blog - where the 5 of us who have posted that they are having surgery that day - could chat: http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/316421-august-26-sleevers/
  7. @Mexico Bariatric Center in Tijuana thru 3 personal friends who went there this past year. It was affordable and came with rave reviews from my friends. I started in May talking to Cindy - the liasion - and started dieting immediately. I started at 312lbs and have since dropped 25lbs. They told me I had to lose 15 lbs to avoid an extra BMI fee. I have been on their modified liquid diet of 2 Protein shakes and a chicken and veggie dinner for 3 weeks and then just started last Thursday on the 2 Protein Shakes and 1 Soup diet. I was hoping we could all keep in touch and support each other. Let me know your stories! Sandi
  8. @@taken_chances19 Hi - Im going to Cabrera at Mi hospital - Mexico Bariatric Center... and who are you going to? and you should go to the blog - August Sleevers Check In - everyone on this forum that is having an August Surgery is logging in there - and getting on a calendar. So there are four of us now having surgery on the same day. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/312687-august-sleevers-check-in/page-58
  9. I am August 26th in Tijuana Dr Cabrera. scared, nervous and thinking Im forgetting something!
  10. I have an August 26th surgery - should I be concerned about Protein intake on a 5 hour plane flight to San Diego for Tijuana on the Clear liquids and on the way home post op?
  11. I am headed to Mi hospital with Dr Cabrera at the Mexican Bariatric Center in 2 weeks. I have had 3 personal friends go this past year and all of them are doing well and sang the praises of the hospital, its staff and their accommodations. Cindy is the Liaison between the patient and the hospital - she answers my questions by email day or night. She has been great. I picked the brains of all three of my friends that have been there - checked and double checked for any hidden fees. Im nervous but ready.
  12. Ive been on my modified liquid diet for 3 weeks already, and have lost 12 lbs. Now I am getting serious and doing all liquids for 2 more weeks hoping to lose at least 8 more lbs before my surgery on the 26th. Im nervous, scared and excited.
  13. I am scheduled for August 26th in Tia-Juana. I just started today my one month pre-op diet. I have to lose 15 lbs before surgery to lower my BMI. So I feel fine tonight... a little hungry - but not unbearable.
  14. I am scheduled for surgery one month from today - August 26th in Tiajuana - Dr Cabrera. I live in Howey in the Hills, and have two friends that have had the surgery same place in the past couple of months. We are going to start a support group in Clermont soon... I think they are waiting for me to be sleeved. Even tho I am a month out - I just started my pre-op liquid diet. I have to lose 15 lbs before my surgery date - to lower my BMI - Im on the border of it being $1000 more for the surgery with a higher BMI.
