postop 5 days pain on right side

I only had pain on the right side when drank too fast and too much. 2 weeks out for me and I'm still trying to figure out how to go slow!!
  2. I am feeling great in body and mind but my spirit is starting to feel a little down. Within a few day of my surgery I dropped 20 pounds then nothing!! I know that we all seem to stall after the initial loss but I have actually gained 4 lbs back in the last couple of days inspite of the fact that I have increased my physical activity and severely decreased my eating!!! I'm starting to get concerned that I'm doing something wrong!!

I'm doing great with the fluid, managing 66 oz a day. I'm eating 3, 3 oz pureed meals and 1-2 1oz snack...I have a new love for beans now!! I guess I just need to be patient!! LOL

What kind of beans are you eating and how are you cooking them?

fat free, refried beans cold out of the can. I measure out 2oz and eat them with 1oz slice of turkey lunch meat. I think I need to increase my water, I have noticed that on some days I didnt even manage 30oz, so now my water comes first before I consume anything else!!

    June Gastric Sleevers Out there

I had to check the name on this post to make sure I didn't write it skerstad as your experience is mirroring my own!!! I was sleeved on June 27th and have just started pureed foods yesterday, I am having a little trouble eating slow and getting enough Fluid...I too noticed that my aches and pains have diminished and I am wondering if this is from the lack of gluten in my diet? Best of luck to you, keep me posted with your progress!! skjerstad

  11. Ok, so not only have I quit eating on June 27th but I have also quit smoking!!! It has been 13 days since my last cigarette and I have found today to be the most difficult as I am finding myself wanting to munch!! I am trying gum to keep my mouth busy and am about to take a walk...I refuse to eat or smoke, I CAN DO THIS!!!!

    1. Chelly

      Chelly

      Congrats on both.

Hate tell you this but gum is not an option it puts air and gas in your stomach which is not good.

After six months I understand you can chew it again just occasionally.

No need for the gum as the walk took the edge off just fine, thanks for letting me know about the gum though Chelly!! Thanks for the encouragement and well wishes Babbs, Chelly and Hopeful!!!

  12. This afternoon while grocery shopping I could feel a sugar low coming on while I was checking out. I am still on liquids only but wanting to raise my sugar (and maybe cheat just a little) I opened a box of pretzel crackers and hummus and promptly shoved 4 crackers and 2 teaspoons of hummus in my face....I am feeling stuffed like a pig but my sugar is back to normal!! Grrrrrrrrrr :-/

Whenever I go to the grocery store or even the bank or something, I carry some apple juice or water...as soon as I feel myself getting weak or anything I start sipping my liquids...That helps alot...

  13. Today I learned that if you drink your protein drink too fast you will no longer need a laxative...LOL

How I wish!!! I'm struggling with constipation and my doctor today just gave me some things to try. He didn't mention drinking shakes to fast! :)

    June sleevers, check-in!

My searing pain is down to a burning pain today, LOL!!! I was concerned about this pain because I didn't have it the 1st week post op and felt as if I had injured myself by not taking it easy enough towards the end of the first week. I haven't taken any pain meds because of constipation for the last 5 days and I have been relatively comfortable except for the burning pain that I only have when I am getting up or down. So far today I'm feeling great, if I can remember to stay out of the garden, no bending or squatting, get in a couple of half hour walks...its going to be a wonderful day!!!

    June sleevers, check-in!

I was sleeved on 6/27, I was just wondering how bad everyones pain was 1 week from surgery at the hole the stomach was removed from. I have a bad searing pain unless I press hard on the lump under the incision site. Other than this pain, I am doing great!!! I'm never hungry, I eat and drink with a spoon to slow down my drinking because drinking too fast as I have found this can be quite uncomfortable.

    My surgery was June 24th

I had my surgery 6/27, was home by the afternoon of the 28th. I am down 17 pounds but I'm guessing that most of that is Fluid. I am getting in most of my liquids, even sneaking in a Protein shake every now and then in the hopes of making this hunger go away, it seems to work! My bowels feel like they are going to explode if I cant empty them soon and the incision where my stomach was removed are my greatest source of pain. Every day is getting a little bit better...I cant wait to see what the future brings!!! Best of luck to all of you on this new journey!!!

    June sleevers, check-in!

Day 3 post op (6-27)!!! Hurting only at the incision on the left and because I cant pass gas. Today, is the first day that I havent gone back to bed after getting up, still feeling weak and tired though, maybe a Vitamin will help with that!!!
