  1. I think that it's scary to know you're doing something so permanent and drastic. I'm 12 years post op. You'll be so glad you did it.
  2. The only shocking thing 12 years out is I'm now a diabetic.
  3. I acted like I had just had the surgery done. I went back to those post op eating habits and exercised. Counted my calories. Nothing white, no alcohol. 100 grams of protein a day. Carried a pedometer and walked at least 10,000 steps a day.
  4. How is your overall health? How much did you lose? Have you regained any? Do you have any conditions that were escalated by your wls? My health is pretty good. I'm almost 41 and I am pretty active with my three kids. High weight was 310. Now 135. I had a regain three years ago and I got back up to 234! I'm now back to 135, lately been sick and I'm in the 120s. No conditions bothered by my WLS.
  5. I'm 12 years post op. Happy to answer anything I can.

    Here we go again!

I'm 12 years post op RNY. about three years ago I found myself back at 234. Even though those foods did make me sick, I was still able to gain the weight on other foods. I'm now 30 pounds below goal, yes, below. I'm having complications and guess what? I'm diabetic now!! Crazy. I went to therapy to figure out WHY I was eating like that. It was painful, but worth it.
  8. Hope to get support from others like me. We seem to be forgotten by our surgeons when you're a "success" this far out and below goal weight. I'm finding I need support now more than ever!
