Trouble eating meat, esp. at night
It doesn't matter what kind of meat it is. I can eat some at lunch in very small amounts, but have pretty much given up trying to eat meat at night. It's a good thing there are other sources of protein.

Cheese?
I like cheese sticks. Just about any cheese comes in a sticks nowadays and most are less than 100 cal. They're a good portable meals or snack.

Trouble eating meat, esp. at night
Since banding, even before fills, I am having a heck of a time with meat. I've make sure that it's moist enough, small pieces, chew like crazy, but it just chokes me. I do better at lunch, but forget meat at dinner. Any one else experience this. Suggestions?

Lane Bryant Shooting
It wasn't a crime against fat people. The theory is that he targeted a store with only women so he wouldn't have to deal with men, who might fight back. He sexually assaulted some of the women before he killed them, according to news reports. He is a being with no soul.

Whats up with pasta?
I, too, am having lots of trouble with pasta. Since it globs up in our stoma because of the gluten, I thought I'd experiment with gluten free pasta. WOW!! It tastes very good, and goes down with no problem. I've used it with my kids and they can't tell the difference.

Can you still eat out in Restaurants?
Oh, heck, yes! There is always something on the menu that you can have. Having a lapband should never prevent anyone from doing what they want to do. I order sides or salads, and, on occasion, a regular meal and take part of it home to enjoy for another meal or 2. A drink on occasion is ok, too

Unjury...Who likes it and who doesn't?
The unflavored is absolutely disgusting--smelly, foamy, gross aftertaste. I like the vanilla and chocolate mixed in Slender Soy. It's ok in skim milk, but the soy is thicker, so it tastes like rich, creamy chocolate milk or (in my mind) kind of a vanilla shake.

Heparin Injections
Wow!! That's a lot of heparin. I got one injection of it right before surgery. Do you have a history of clots?

Treadmill Workouts
I bought a NordicTrack treadmill and it uses the IFit cards. I love the treadmill and the exercise programs that are on the card. There is a different program everyday with new challenges. I use the treadmill 3 times a week and am starting to see a big difference in my body

Is The Fills Going To Hurt Less?
I've had 2 fills and neither one hurt. Actually, I didn't feel a thing with my second one.

favorite foods you can no longer eat
I tried small amounts of rice, pastas, bread, etc after I went to solids. None of them worked well. I have taken out anything white or made with flour or sugar from my diet. I thought I would miss breads, pastas, rice, in my diet, but I don't. I haven't had sugar just because I didn't want to. I have had a couple of tiny bits of a candy bar, which I ended up spitting out because it was just to sweet. That has never happened before! I eat of lots of vegtables and proteins and am very happy with my new life

liquids while eating
Not drinking with meals gets easier the more you do it. I found out quickly that if I have any liquid with a meal, it comes right back up

Ifit Cards (NordicTrack)
I know this is an older thread, but I had to put my 2 cents in about my NordicTrack treadmill and the ifit technology.....LOVE it. I'm using the Level 1 card for weight loss. For someone who has never been an exerciser, it is kicking my butt!

hiatal hernia
I, unknown to me until after surgery, had a huge hernia. Before surgery, I couldn't miss a day of Protonix or I'd spend the night vomiting acid . Since surgery, no meds at all and not one single day with acid reflux:biggrin:. I'm a very happy camper!

Add a Quirk
Not a 2/08 bandster, but had to add my quirk. I have to have envelopes that I am mailing sorted by length from the shortest to the longest.

phsyc evaulation
My psych test was several questionaires that I filled out myself in a little room. They were the stupidest questions I had ever seen and was laughing out loud all by myself. I kept thinking I was going to fail because I was laughing alone during a test! There were T/F statements like "I have flown across the ocean 30 times in the last month."; "I've been on 10 magazine covers in the last month."; If I lie on this test, I'll look better." Ridiculous stuff. It as a hoot!

Whee!
I started out with 100+ to lose. Personally, I think it's kind of cool to be able to join a thread that is for ppl that have less than that to lose. I've never been able to do that! It's a head thing, I guess.

Unjury Protein Powder
I agree, the unflavored is disgusting. I do like the vanilla and chocolate mixed in Slender Soy. It's flavored soy milk and the Unjury tastes really good in it.

Fisrt fill tomorrow - big question...
I had no restrictions set, but it seemed logical to me to just have liquids before a fill so my stomach wasn't full. I did have to have liquid for the 24 hours after.

Mini-Goal reached !!!!
Wow!! Congratulations! That's amazing! You must feel great.

Help! Im having second thoughts.
Jeremy, having second thoughts is normal for many of us. You are making a trip into the unknown. Personally, the pre-op and and liquid post-op diet did get old, but it's not forever. I eat well, albeit differently than I used to, which is a good thing. Since my band, I make better food choices, I'm looking better, I no longer hurt all over, my clothes fit, and I am so much happier with myself! Hang in there. You'll be glad you did.

Scared Silly in Alabama!
It's normal to be scared. Everyone has some fear when going into surgery. All the personnel in the surgical suite are there to take care of you and to always do their best with each patient. You'll be fine.

1st fill tomorrow, SOOO scared !!
I'm not a big needle fan either, especially going in to my stomach! Honestly, though, it was no big deal. Stung a little going in, but it was not painful by any means. You'll be fine
