  1. So how have you done so far? Are you losing well?
  2. Yes, most people don't realize how expensive COBRA is. Most families cannot afford it. I wish you all the best with this process. I know how it feels to be mentally psyched and ready to do something this big, and then have it derailed. But stay positive and keep your head up.
  3. Yep, call EVERYONE, like it's your job!!
  4. My doctor put me on Bariatric Advantage.meal replacement shakes. I ordered the vanilla. They were fine, but I was unable to stomach it after surgery. Just to sweet and thick. I now drink unflavored protein powder in fat free milk. I love it and don't even want any flavors added to it. Boy, how my taste buds have changed.
  5. I have told no one and don't ever plan to. I have a good friend who I would of loved to share it with. But as my wise mom used to say " her mouth can't hold water". I don't think she would tell other in a malicious way to hurt me, but her nature would be to tell............everyone! Am I ashamed about having the surgery? Not at all. I just don't want to be watched, questioned and endure the negative nellies. This is my journey and I really don't see how it's anyone's business. BTW, no, I don't need the SUPPORT. I'm a big girl, I got me....oh, and I have BP, lol.
  6. There is a battery of test that will be a part of the pre op process. These test, including see a cardiologist (at least I had to) and a pulmonary function test, are all in place to see if your body is ready for surgery. Instead of speculating see the surgeon and start the process. Big congratulations on the decision to quit smoking. You are already ahead of the process. Best.
  7. When you are able to lay on your stomach. I had a drain for 10 days. No stomach sleeping for me until it was out.
  8. @@Kindle OK, seriously, you are my SHERO!
  9. Well, I have no answer to your question as I've already allowed three humans to live for 10 long months in my now retired uterus. But, I want to say, CONGRATULATIONS!
  10. I can type, but the spelling? Not so much, lol
  11. My sex drive went missing a few years ago and I have yet to find it. Made posters and files a missing sex drive report with my GYN. To date it has not been found. At this point I'm not even sure if I want it back were it to decide to come back, but we'll see. To those of you enjoying..........have fun ladies.
  12. OK, you look hella gorgeous and I want those red shoes and yes, the red dress!!
  13. There is wild caught salmon, but it's seasonal and the cost per pound can start around $15 and go up from there; well unless you live in Alaska and can go catch it yourself. I love wild caught salmon and the taste is incomparable. I treat myself in the fall when it's available in my area for a few short months. You can also purchase wild caught shrimp.
  14. I had all my "stuff" reafy before I went to the hospital. Including a thermos to keep hot broth by my bed. It is good to move around as much as you can. My pain was more soreness. I only took meds the first night home, but of course everyone is different. Best.
  15. Go and do it. You have no choice. I'm a severe insomniac and I did it. They hook you up to a bunch to electrodes and monitor you from another room. I was not hooked up until almost 12 am and barely slept. I was awaken at 617am. They are looking to see what happems, patterns, when you sleep. I was allowed to bring my sleeping pill. You want the surgery you have to do the sleep study. Best.
  16. Bullying and fat shaming is not a trend. 40 years ago I was bullied because of my weight, and I now know I was subject to fat shaming. Yes, fat shaming. At 12 yrs old a teacher tried to make me feel ashamed that I was fat. It worked. I felt ashamed and still do. Not a trend. Reality.
  17. No I was not hungry and I was on a two week pre op diet.
  18. @@The Candidate. You rock!!
  19. WOW. Wold this be an example of fat shaming?
  20. Well how big are you? What is your BMI? Do you need her clearance to get the surgery?
  21. you can trust the fish. It's what encrusting the fish that you should never trust.
  22. Buy the sugar free box of jello and make your own. It takes just a few minutes. I believe if you stick to sugar free things you will be fine. Otherwise, just empty calories.
  23. Well they need to stop sending their patients to him, period!!Others had come back in tears. really? This should stop!
  24. Then he MUST have seem patients who had lost a lot of weight before. Or are you the first one? Confusing, if he's part of the team. Then he should not be shocked or repulsed by lots of excess skin.
