  1. Coca cola cannot kill you... I promise. Worked at PepsiCo Research & Development, have physically made cola in a lab, 95% Water... This post has so many views, thanks to Marijuana!!!!
  2. Hi VSGJourney, Welcome to the site! I think to an extent we have all wondered whether we will be able to keep the weight loss or not. I think the answer is yes! One of the beautiful things abt the VSG is the elimination of most of the gastric hormones that cause hunger. Believe it or not, hunger can be very mental, and this surgery really helps you out with this. Of course one has to get into a psychological state of mind, that you will be fit for life. Surround yourself with people that are trying to achieve the same goal as you, a.k.a. your bariatric pal friends . Most surgeons will provide you information about post-op support groups, use them to your advantage. Overall, remember that even if you were not as successful with the VSG as you imagined, this is not the end of the magic of weight loss surgery for you. Options like gastric bypass and duodenal switch exist. You will do great dear! XO VVV

  7. OMG thanks! Cheesecake sugar free pudding is definitely going on my "to buy" list. Love it!
  8. Absolutely, I just found it to be so not out of the box. Yeah Protein powder, blah blah, but what are some insider tips. Like one of my friends gave me a great idea to purchase these salad drinks that are sold at a store in NY called Mrs. Greens. Anyone else have any cool ideas?
  9. Hey guys, VVV here. So with my pre-op liquid diet coming I can't help but to ask... WHAT SHOULD I BE ORDERING ONLINE? what did you live off of? Xo
  10. Took me about one month to get my surgery approved. And now I have one month until my surgery date I will definitely keep everyone posted!
  11. I did get a chance. Tell them that you would prefer I speak with her directly. Remember this service is something you or your spouse pay for, you're the customer
  12. I have this appointment coming up as well, thanks for asking, as I was wondering the same. I am excited!
  13. Call them like it's your job. Ask to speak to medical management, and have them transfer you to the nurse reviewing your case.
  14. Dr. Schwack is also my doctor, he is seriously adorable
  15. In fact before even finding out the details of my plan, my doctors office immediately made me 6 monthly appointments. I didn't think this was right, so I called and took matters into my own hands. I called my insurance and the first thing they asked was... What client does your insurance come from? I said PepsiCo and she said, oh, then yes, you DO NOT need a six month pre op diet. I communicated this to my docs office, they swore I was freaking insane, and didn't know my ass from my elbow in their business, I asked them to submit it anyways with all other requirements completed (primary doc recommendation, psychologist, nutritionist, endoscopy, etc.) and it was approved within four days... BOOM!
  16. Cchapman6 yes you may ask It is Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, through PepsiCo. Contrary to my doctor's office belief, it turns out that your employer has a lot to do with the procedures the insurance will cover. For example BCBS premium plan of PepsiCo, might cover this surgery 90% without a 6 month pre-diet period, while BCBS of... Idk... Coca cola , covers it at the same percentage but with a mandatory 6 months. Hope this helped!
  17. Thanks Woo woo! Blogging is definitely out of my comfort zone, but so was surgery so... I am changing my life once and for all!!! XO
  18. You guys!! My surgery was approved without the six month supervised diet period! So excited, I can't even describe! When the nurse told me I tried to be as civilized as possible, but I was exploding of happiness inside!!! YAYYYYYY! Can't wait to find out the next step from here. Read more about this on my blog: http://vvvgastricsleeveafterlife.blogspot.com/ Stay hopeful guys!!! XOXO VVV

  20. I feel like I totally wanna do this because the wait is just killing me, my God. It would help to know the surgery date so that I don't end up liquid dieting for 2 months =/ My psych appointment is tomorrow so I am hoping that they call me for a surgery scheduling two to three days after, otherwise I will be calling them lol
  21. Hello everyone, I am still pending a surgery date, I have done all requirements but the psychologist (have appt in three day) I feel so anxious in the most negative way possible. I am starting to become slightly depressed and don't wanna go anywhere bc I don't wanna be seen at this weight anymore. I have not been able to sleep and have been so distracted at work bc all I can think about is not being this heavy. There is so much waiting and I am not blessed with patience in this life please help!
