  1. If you're looking for any other positions, let me know. I have a full time job that I love, but I also love to help others in this situation.
  2. That's great! I hadn't heard about "too much protein", but it makes sense. How much were you getting?
  3. Amazed at the lack of interest those docs showed. I got a fill about every 4-6 weeks for 1 year. I used water as a good judge as well.
  4. Send him a message at alex@bariatricpal.com. I get so lost on this site without the chat.
  5. How was your appointment today?
  6. Are you nauseous from meds? Can you have any Popsicles yet?
  7. Been a while for me, but pudding and yogurt saved my life! Of course, you'll go for the sugar free stuff. Also some low fat smoothies. I think Dannon Lite and Fit are some good ones. When is your surgery?
  8. I'm going to start using big font like that too! Love it!
  9. Way to go Jojo! Keeping hydrated and getting all your Protein is still a daily thing for me and i'm almost 4 years out. You're creating great habits! Best wishes! -dt
  10. Thank you for sharing. I'm so proud of you and I don't even know you! Congrats!
  11. Sounds odd. My sister had an issue where the tube was disconnected from the band itself, so any fill she got was not going anywhere. She had it replaced and all is well again. Do you still have restriction?
  12. I've gained a few back, I did look a little gaunt. I'll be alright but thanks.
  13. I had that problem too. I wasn't trying, but still kept losing. My band gets tighter with stress, cold weather and travel (flying) and I took 5 trips in 2014 and just couldnt' eat. I finally did get an unfill in October and have put on some weight. I don't like it but everyone else does. Blah. Now I'm secretly trying to lose those 8 lbs I gained. Maybe a slight unfill will do you some good, but be sure you do it for you and not for anyone else.
  14. Hi Butterfly, fills are not painful, but I guess that depends on your comfort level. Just feels like you are getting a shot. My doc would have me drink a small bottle of Water before I left his office to make sure I was not too tight. I agree with Bandista, listen to your body and if you feel like you need a fill, go! Best of luck!
  15. Looks like we have a hard time getting anything together in Texas. I'm in Houston and don't see any activity. Based on your numbers, looks like you are doing great! Right on track!
  16. I'm in a similar situation after being tight for more than a year and was so afraid to get an unfill. I finally realized I was too skinny and had .4 taken out. I've gained 8 lbs in 2 months. I guess I look ok, but I feel like i gained it all back. Now I'm back to counting calories and Protein grams to make sure I stay on track. Nobody knows, but I'm actually trying to lose those 8 lbs. I have been lectured about it, not wanting to hear it again.
  17. Hi Chelly and Fred! Miss you guys in chat as well. My busiest time of the year is the fall, so I have been a little distant, but I hope @@Alex Brecher decides to bring it back. Alex, you asked how many people use it, that's hard to say, but if just 2 people are active, it helps others to feel like they can jump in. We can easily have about 7 or 8 members chatting off and on. That may not seem like a lot to you, but I know it has been a big help especially to those on the fence or just needing a quick reply. Let us know how we can help. We're happy to do so. -dt
  18. I can totally relate. I will always be a big girl and have a really hard time seeing myself as anything else.....until I pass a mirror. As far as a cure....not sure I want to be cured. I never want to forget that feeling.
