  1. That's great @@Babbs, sound like you are already doing the right thing. I work in the event industry and have to deal with this every week, sometimes several times a week. I just follow my rules, no eating and drinking at the same time, don't eat after 9 pm. Funny how much more of an event you can experience when you are not standing in line to eat for the majority of it.
  2. Celebrations centered around food. Always. "You got a new job, let's go to dinner and celebrate" "It's your birthday, let's order a cake and celebrate" "Graduating from anywhere, let's over do it with food and celebrate" "Any holiday ever...food, food and more food!" Why, does everything have to be centered around food? Why can't we Celebrate with a painting class or roller skating or a trial membership to a zumba class for everyone! It's sickening to me that our entire focus for living is so food-centric. I know it's not just us, it's everywhere and it's not going to change, but I can change me. You want to celebrate one of my accomplishments? Let's repaint my living room together. Let's get our nails done then binge watch Breaking Bad! I eat to live, not live to eat. (drops the mic) -dt
  3. Hi @@Butterfly24, any update on your fills and progress? Anxious to here how you are doing.
  4. @@mysleeve can't find it in the app, but i can on the website from my laptop.
  5. Confession, I didn't realize this post was started in the Thirties forum but I see that now. Didn't mean to intrude or mislead. Let me go find my fellow 40's peeps. Sorry!
  6. Ha ha! I'm just glad mine shuts itself off after a while or I'd be toast! I'm going to head there right now. REALLY want to be asleep by 11 pm. Like for real this time.
  7. Hi @@defibvt, congrats on your decision! I hear many great things about VSG so I know you will do well. March 2 is just around the corner, are you ready?

  10. I'm from Houston and have a lap band (2011 model). Nice to see so many Texans here making a change! Best wishes y'all!
  11. Way to go! I'm back in bed for a quick nap! Go me!!
  12. Me too BLERD. Surgery doesn't scare me, best sleep ever! I'd do it again tomorrow if I had to.
  13. You misspelled "protein" shake. Got one on standby for you. ????
  14. Thoughts become things. If you think something won't work, it won't. If you want this bad enough, and I think you do, then you do all you can to make sure you will succeed. Sure, we all have/had some doubt, but don't let that over power the willingness and confidence that you will need from this day forward.
  15. You have restriction, which is what you want to have. Just need to learn how to eat with it. Think of your new tummy as a funnel. If you put in too much food or liquid too fast, it'll overflow and come back up. Try to imagine that as you eat and force yourself to slow down and let your band react. Hope this helps. -d
  16. Found it on YouTube, but it's in 4 parts. Just search for "The Eight Golden Rules". This is worth the time to watch / listen. Good luck. -dt
  17. Hi @@ImWithTheBand13, could you possibly be eating too fast? Even being 4 years out i tend to do that. There is a link here for the Golden Rules of Lap Band. There are some really good basic tips there. I'll see if I can find it and I'll reply with it.
  18. Thanks @@catlover602, you have great stats!! You're almost there!
  19. Thanks Bacon. Do you know how odd it is for me to have virtual conversation with bacon?? I ❤️bacon!
  20. Thank you. I appreciate that.
  21. Sometimes I feel like I'm crossing a fine line between showing off and being proud. Between bragging and inspiring others. I was hesitant to post this, still not used to the comments but I'm trying to get passed all that. I am proud of where I am and am happy to help others in any way I can.
