  1. Just got the call! Insurance approved and I'm scheduled for surgery on 8-7! I'm so nervous and happy I can't even begin to explain. Only part that makes me kinda sad is I'm having surgery the day after my 9th wedding anniversary. So no nice dinner or anything special in that aspect. Hubby doesn't seem too thrilled about the surgery at all, but he'll come around. EXCITED as a kid on Christmas
  2. So my journey has gone pretty quick and according to the lady who handles insurance submittal and such, she believes I should be scheduling in Mid to late August! I'm sooo excited and anxious to get this going. First appointment was 5/28 and after reading some threads I feel blessed to have my stuff done and submitted. I am though nervous they'll deny me... Although I fit the criteria needed. So while awaiting the approval (being positive!) I've tried the powders and can I just say... YUCK! The pre-made shakes are ok, still don't have a flavor I like though. Any suggestions? Brands and such? What Protein bars are good? Good Luck to everyone on this amazing journey and congrats to those who have conquered their goals <3
  3. I have always contemplated it, especially a year or so after I had my son in Feb.2006. But what really did it was two things... #1. I was in a pretty bad car accident 2/21/14 and it messed up my neck and lower back. I have bulges from my L3 to my S1. Also a few in my neck. All my Doctors have said, I need to slim down. #2. My son, Brent, has Aspergers and is of course a very honest child. He has brought up my weight and asked me why I'm so big/fat. I always keep in mind that he is autistic and i don't take much offense. But on my Daughters 4th birthday (4/28/14) my evil B!%<# of a mother in law, had the gusto to say to my son , " it's lucky you take after and look like your dad, you don't want to be fat and UNPRETTY , like your mother!" My husband was soooo angry... It was all I could do not to slap the begeezus outta her. By the way my son looks and does take after his mama! Just, skinnier of course! But, that was the final straw. I said to myself "regardless of anybody's opinion, I'm beautiful either way, but it's time to show that "Witch" who's boss!" I'm doing this for me and my kids! Mostly me!!! The scheduling wait is killing me
  4. You look amazing! I can't wait to get mine done! WTG!
  5. I everyone! So I'm from Las Vegas,NV and my dr is Dr. Umbach... I've seen, heard and read so many amazing stories of all different kinds. I had my First Appointment on Wed. 5/27/14, by crazy chance (someone cancelled) and I got my call to get in. I originally was scheduled for 7/9/14. So, I did all the pre approval with insurance and went over the financial stuff. I did my labs, EKG, met the amazing nutritionist, and met the Doc. Currently working on a Co-Morbidity. I am 6'0 and weigh 288 as of my first weigh in. My BMI is 39 and being with (BCBS) they require a co-morbidity if under 40BMI. However, my Dr didn't seem to think it'd be an issue, seeing as I have lower back issues. Which happened to be aggravated and made worse based on a car accident I was in on 2/21/14. I'm reading some threads and kinda getting worried... :/ I hope I don't get caught up cause I'm not "FAT" enough! Holy Cow, that'd be a first LOL. The receptionist, Ruth, is a sweetheart and was shocked I already have 3-4 appointments scheduled. She says they're really working me in. CROSSING FINGERS THAT THIS MEANS ITS GOOD!!! Soo excited and anxious to schedule the big day! Nervous as well... Also excited to meet people just like me on here. It's so nice to feel " Not Alone" in this cruel world. Good Luck ladies and gents!
