  1. Congrats on your Date!!! I'm the day before you. I'd have to agree, definitely regret my food funeral! Trying my damnedest to stay good... 6 days to go.
  2. Looking for a pen pal! PM me of you'd like to
  3. I would like to receive a pen pal! I think it's an amazing idea. Please, if I can sign up I'd like to. I'm scheduled to be sleeved 8/7/14 (a week from today) OMG sooooo excited
  4. Kristigo- Please don't give up. As hard, disappointing and defeating as this is, have hope. I'm sure they will work things out. Good Luck and I hope round 2 is a GO! Here for support! LeeAnn
  5. I was told in my binder fiber gummies. But that's my DR.
  6. I'm on day 5 and it's not that bad! I'm ok with my shakes and such. I'm down 8lbs already... Can't complain How is everyone else doing?
  7. That would be a lot of fun I'm down for some gambling!
  8. I'm a gambler too! In fact it's probably as bad a habit as food is for me! Lol My grandparents have a timeshare out here. They're really nice some of them. I was born in California and lived there till I was 5. My aunt still lives in Newbury Park. I'm from Thousand Oaks. I miss it, even though it's been so long. I spent a lot of my 16-17 year out there with my cousins.
  9. Tgrace, My date is the 7th and I'm on day 3 of my pre op. So far it's not too bad. Trust me, it sucks when you drive by somewhere you're used to eating at and can't and it seems impossible to go out with family or cook (some just flat at don't want the torture of doing it... I can or my hubby will cook it doesn't seem to bother me.) I'm training my head hunger. It's been a process. The only thing I know is, I'm weak. I've been staying hydrated, taking my vitamins, and drinking my shakes. At dinner time I do however get a lean protein meal with some veggies. I can have sugar and fat free jello, popcicles and pudding. In between my shakes and meals if I need something to supplement it. But, even with day one being just two shakes a lot of water and a small protein dinner... For me personally it isn't too bad. I dreaded it myself... Good luck!
  10. I know what you mean! It's ridiculous what they consider a qualification. The difference of 7-10lbs when it comes to a BMI, I just don't understand the insurance companies. I got soooooo lucky with BCBS... They just dropped the 6month weight loss trial. I would have been screwed and had to put it off till next Sept.
  11. That's awesome! Where ya staying? I've lived here almost all my life. Since I was five and I'm 28 now. Vegas is nice for the 24 hourness. Where are you from?
  12. I have total and complete faith in my Dr. I was just curious with all the other "overnight" stay patients. I've had a lot of outpatient procedures and NEVER had to stay longer then 4 hours after. Both laparoscopic surgeries I've had, I had oxygen level issues and was staying over night anyways. But it resulted in an extra nights stay. Thanks for responding everyone! I have to agree with being on your own bed... It does feel better... Harder to get up at times but way more comfy!
  13. I have a feeling I'm gonna be the same way! I weighed myself yesterday and then again today and the scale said I'm down 4lbs. I wore the same thing so it wasn't a difference in clothes. Maybe water weight... Being in Vegas that can happen lol
  14. A lot of people stall on and off. I'm sure it will start dropping again soon. I can see where that would be kinda a downside. How often do you weigh yourself?
  15. Congratulations! That's awesome I hope I'm as successful!!
  16. I'm really training myself on head hunger. It's been "not as bad as I thought". I've only been on pre op for 2 days but I've been pretty good. I'm doing everything I should be. I can't wait to be on your side of the fence! That's so awesome you're doing so well. You see a lot of people on here who have horror stories. Of head hunger and slip ups and everything else! How much have you lost, if you don't mind my asking?
  17. It's wondering if anyone has been sleeved as an outpatient. My Dr. , Dr. Umbach, does his sleevers as an out patient procedure. What's it like when you go home? what should I expect? Thanks everyone for the help
  18. I have BCBS and all they needed was a 5 year weight history and 1 co morbidity. For me it was my back and neck. I was in a car accident earlier this year and because it messed me up so bad I was able to claim that as my Co Morbidity. But, I do know pre-diabetes and hypertension are, on my insurance at least, considered. But that's Blue Cross Blue Shield. I am a 39BMI, funny how it's just not big enough to put ya through. :/ good luck! My date for surgery is August 7th... I wish you all the luck and speedyness that I had. (Started my journey 5/28/14 got my date for 8-7-14)
  19. I already new I was approved and have a date scheduled... But I received my approval letter from my Insurance today! It's soo awesome I cannot wait. Day 3 of pre op diet here I come! It's getting a bit easier
  20. What was the day before surgery like? Did you have any special eaton restrictions?
  21. I love coffee... Of course my DR or Nutritionist basically thinks all caffeine, except tea, is the devil. :/ my mom was like, you can have tea, but not coffee? Makes no sense lol
  22. That's good to hear! Soda was one of the hardest things to give up... Pasta a close second. These headaches are noooo fun and I've noticed the more I drink the better they tend to get. But I still take migraine stuff from time to time. Jello and popcicles are saving me to a point. I'd also have to say I drink about 6-8 large bottles of Water and occasionally some tea. It's so nice to talk to someone on here who's not real far out but has already had the surgery. Speaking of which, my dr is doing mine as outpatient?!? He does all sleeves this way. I find it kinda odd. Almost everyone is in the hospital for a day or two.
  23. Ohhh ok! So how's life after surgery? I'm soo anxious! Day one down 13 to go! :/ it's tough but doable. I miss good but it's in my head... Being up late isn't helping! I live in Vegas and it's 1:35am (not sure where you're at ) Hoping tomorrow is easier. I do notice myself not caring about certain foods. So I guess that's good? I just can't wait to get it over with and start my new life! Christmas will be exciting this year! new clothes!! LOL that's part of my motivation. Ohhh and did anything kill the headaches? Water and stuff just isn't helping Headed to bed, the 4 year old will be up way too soon!
