    Carb-Eatin Sleevers

I am still amazed at how much everyone is loosing at just 2 months out? I thought I was doing something at 2 months out by loosing 25 lbs but I am 20 lbs behind everyone I read about, how did you loose 46 lbs in 2 months, you are doing great. I have only lost 44 lbs and I am at 4th month post op. I am starting to know I eat way to many carbs, I have been able to tolerate carbs since the first week after surgery. I ate 3 bites of toast. Maybe that is why I am not loosing. I have had an incredible craving since I had surgery for Crossiants...of course just a few bites but I can eat a whole one in a day as well. Yes I am a carbby but of course only 2-3 bites don't do rice or Pasta very well, but it's starting to feel okay. of course 3 bites and I'm full but I can feel and like the carbbys and I actually have been feeling better since I have eaten them. Please tell me and shed some light. You are doing great, what ever you are doing you are doing fantastic, keep up the good work, I am 20 lbs behind everyone I read about so I must be doing something wrong. I need help, Blessings, Calimexsleever
  6. Hello BP friends, I wanted to know if anyone has experienced the eaten to much syndrome. I learned early on with a bad experience about eating and drinking liquids at the same time. I was at a wedding several weeks post op and I was hungry and at quite a few hor dorvs and at dinner time at the reception, I threw up. Since that time I read we are not suppose to eat solids and drink at the same time, one or the other. Also I noticed when I am full or my sleeve is full which I can only ever eat half, half, half, if that of any plate, my nose starts to run like crazy. Anyone experienced that? My stomach starts to hurt, has anyone wisdom on this experience? There are amazing food that I can tolerate others I can not. Like I can tolerate bread, amazing, but not chicken or rice, or spaghetti which use to be my favorites, surprised, surprised, surprised? All The Best, Your Friendly Sleever

    Do you tolorate Subway?

Amazing....I can eat bread, toast, English muffins and scones, but only a few bites. I can eat subway, but the thought of the big bread makes me gag, the fullness we have is just overwhelming, and I don't want my stomach to hurt so I say the thinnest bread you can get, plus bread I think causes stalls, I have been eating lots of beads and my weight loss stalled until the other day when I at more veggies and kicked up my Proteins.....'

    Is Change Really Possible?

You are a great inspiration to me, look at you and how fabulous you look in 10 months. I am headed towards month 4, and can not wait for month 10 , 11 and 12 like you. What an amazing and fabulous amound of weight you have lost in just 10 months. How can I do this too. I weighed the same maybe a little more my highest was 286..pre surgery was 276 and now 246. How am I doing. I just started to feel good to walk, body ached for the past month, ankles, feet, legs, back, so I started going to a chiropractor. I feel so good now. Many say the body is adjusting to the weight shift. never again do I want this weight on me again. Tell me what I should be doing now headed into month 4. I try to avoid rice, breads, but occassionally or once a week have a little. I am really only able to eat red meat, fish, and super small bites of chicken, I almost hate chicken my first couple of months with it have been horrible. I am eating soft stir friend and steamed and boiled soft veggies. I do occassion Protein shakes, not enought though, I try, goats milk, almond milk, and I am trying to get my Water in. Any other tips, wisdom, suggestions.....and what work outs should I be doing, I still always dont feel the best...I'm tired a lot, have to have naps but it's slowly coming down. So tell me, what you did during the months of 4, 5, 6. All The Best, CaliMex Gal

Body Aches and pains before and after surgery

Thank you for your support. Yes, I go to a Chiropractor as well, I went today, but I think I am just lazy. I would love to loose 69 lbs or 89. I am 40 down, at 3 months and amazed, but I want the jiggile off now, I want those arms toned and the Michelle Obama arms. Tell me what you eat, and how long you have been at the "Grind"
  14. Hello WLS Family, I wanted to know if anyone has experienced that pain of course of being overweight, like joint, and body pain, and then after surgery any type of join, hip, ankle, leg pain. I am starting to see skin start to flab and move, but my body most days ache. Especially if I try and work out. I am 3 months post op and usually don't feel like working out, I up and mobile a little more, much more energetic but not as much as I hear everyone else is? Am I missing something, should I get my blood levels checked to see if I am missing something like a Vitamin deficiency? What is your suggestion 3 months post op, 40 lbs off? Please advise and share your experiences...

    Is it too late ?

I pray you weigh your options for both the pros and the cons, but if you can based on happiness and experience that I have read and now 40 lbs down in 3 months, no hair loss, eat many not all but many of my favorite foods just a couple bites, but I can eat it, and I feel healthy and eat like a skinny girl. That excites me. Read the pros and cons from everyone, but the "Sleeve Is The Bomb" Baby. Much Love, I pray for your health and healing.
  17. Thank you so much my friend for your encouragement and how I should be progressing. I have not had a real rewarding time exercising, everyone says my body is adjusting to loosing pounds so fast. I do thank God I am seeing 240 but I will be glad to see 160 -158 like you. Amazingly I can eat a lot of things especially very early on, but my favorite things I can not eat and actully gag at chicken, rice and pasta which were my favorites. Occassionally I have a sweet tooth but that's probably cause I been single way to long. Tell me what you do as a eating routine and work out routine and how you got all those pounds off. I need 90 more lbs off. What I love about the sleeve it is not impossible to think I lost 40 lbs in 3 months blows my mind. I still cant eat or drink at the same time, yesterday I had a steak taco, it was so good, I was craving the meat. Earlier I had tea so I think I was to full, but maybe you can give me some advice because definitely if I eat and drink I throw up. I can eat 2-3 bites of anything and I am full which I love eating like a skinny girl. So tell me your story and what to do..... Blessings,

    Need serious advice

Bishop, Most of all of this stuff will go away after you have surgery. Trust and believe God, talk with your doctor and your surgeon before having surgery, many of those aspirin you are not suppose to take. The headaches probably come from high blood pressure which will propabably go away when you start to loose weight. Just think in 3 months from July 25th you will feel like a Butterfly. You will have lost 40-50 lbs. and feel like flying. Get advice about taking any of those medications. The one thing I heard in a still small voice, you will get through this and the foods you thought you could not live without will still be there 2, 3, 4 weeks later, but your body might not even want then ever again. I never thought I would not want or like spaghetti again, or rice, or any type of chicken. I eat fish and red meat, and just about anything except I do not drink soda's anymore, I crave but don't eat it. Fill up on Water, unjury chicken broths, gaterade first two weeks and watch how you feel. Think of it as a 2 week fast after surgery, although the first week I ate scrambled eggs with lots of cheese. It was so good. OMG. depends on what your body can tolerate. I love food, but the sleeve will not allow you to do to much and remember do not eat and drink at the same time. Either drink and wait 30 minutes and then eat, All Th Best

    April 23 sleevers!

Hello Fellow Sleever in April, You are doing great. I have lost only 38 lbs I feel I eat to much, you are down 52 lbs wow, tell me what you do since we had surgery around the same time. How you go about getting your weight off. Besides the fact I can only eat a little and a few bites, certain food restrictions, I almost eat what I want. Please tell me how you managed to have almost 10 lbs more off that me> I feel like I am not loosing enough. My surgery was on April 21, 2014, Ready for A Change - Tijana, Mexico
  20. Alex, I thank God for you and look forward to more resources on this site. I had the sleeve surgery in April and do not regreat it at all I am loving my sleeve. I plan on hitting the 100 lb mark off by December 2014. Thank you for your love and all that you have done to keep us encouraged. CaliMexiGirl
  21. I can not say enough wonderful things about my experience with Ready 4 A Change in Tijuana....Dr. Garcia, Alma and all of the staff attended to my every need around the clock. Yes, the hospital was a little older but very clean, very orderly, everthing ran like clock work. I would give a bit of advice and that would be Do Not Eat Sweets and before surgery, one lady had horrible dumping symptoms. I ate and drank and did not know the consequences. Throwing up all over the place at a Wedding..OMG how embarrasing. I had lost 20 lbs right after surgery and was stunning at the wedding but kept eating hordores that went down well. It was hot and we were outside and I did not know about waiting for 30-1 hour before drinking anything and OMG. I ate again and vomited all over the table at the wedding....OMG. I gracefully got up from the table put my napkin on my plate and was still cute.............................So before having surgery make up your mind to really stop sugary foods and carbs..Have food ready when you get home like apple sauce, yogurt and soups, eggs, protein powder, I have way to much, and after almost 3 months still have not used half of it. My weight loss seems slower than others and I found out there are certain foods I can not eat. I am amazed what I can and can not eat post op. No more chicken. I almost hate any form of chicken, but 3 weeks out I could it turkey tacos, pork streaded tacos, soft scrambled eggs the first week, grits, love cottage cheese, string cheeses, the body is still healing 3 months out so be careful and try foods. No longer can I eat spicy foods, but expensive steak goes down wonderful,,,,,,,,,,,,I love it. Although I lost almost 38 lbs in 3 months I can easily gain 1 lb up and down so I am learning to really do protein shakes and drinks in replace of food when I want that one pound off. I also challenge myself to loose 2 lbs a week at 4 weeks that's 8-10 lbs a month. In 12 months that's 120 lbs. I would never have been able to do this without the sleeve. Thank You Dr, Garcia for everything........I will shout it from the roof top Dr. Garcia at Ready 4 A Change is the Place to Go for Self-Pay Surgery or If your insurance pays go for it. Thank You for saving my life and getting my life back. Beautiful CaliMexi Girl

Thinking of surgery, Can you relate?

No more thinking my friend you gotta do it. It will change your life and you will be so happy you did. I only wish I had gotten it done sooner. Ready 4 A Change in Tijuana, Mexico with Dr. Garcia is the best. They treated me like a queen they attended to our every wish every second, nurses in my room every hour. I went on a Sunday, stayed in Marriott, they picked me up from Airport, took us to Marriot, next morning on Monday had surgery at noon at stayed in hospital there for 3 days they attended to me and others every hour on the hour. I did not have any complications, I actually was skipping down the hall way right after surgery feel so light and freeeeee freeeeee. My challenge the first month is learning how to eat, chew food, small portions even though my head wants large portions and favorite foods. I love my life now more than food. Before I loved food more than my life.....I feel so happy that I eat like a skinny girl now. I have learn to buy small meals or share with others, I take half home and that is great, if I eat half. I have never lost weight since I gained it and in 10 weeks I am down 33 pounds it use to take me 6 months to loose 2 lbs serious....do it, do it now, please you wont regret. Now I eat my favorite some things I dont like any more like chicken....amazing how I love fish and ground turkey and soft steak now...love, love it. I love yogurt, cottage cheese and regular cheese on everything and I keep loosing weight, amazing....I can eat salads now....3-4 bites but I still eat what I love Now...10 weeks post op. I tried a lot early on and eat and drank and totally threw up. Warning eat first 30 minutes later drink beverage, no soda's, flavored waters, I did try alchol martini but to early celebrating but now, I love my sleeve...I feel beautiful again. Hope this encourages you.
  23. Dr. Garcia and Ready 4 a change staff are the best. I had been pondering this surgery for years since 2008. I saw myself on a picture and immediately I knew I had to do something. I had been watching lots of you tube videos on the surgery and decided one day I will find the best surgeon, listening to some of the videos someone mentioned "Ready 4 A Change", not only do they have a great name but the results from people were incredible. I put down my deposit, in 1 month I was ready. I told myself you gotta do this because my body ached, I was getting bigger and bigger and pain all over my body. I was treated like a queen. Stayed in the best hotel per Marriot Tijana, and in 24 hours had surgery and was up and walking. God was with me. He promised. I was positive and made everyone else positive too. It was private yet happy 7 people had surgery same time as me. Many of us were very private.........in one week I lost 10 pounds and felt great. I had no complications at all. 2 weeks later constipated, but took medication they gave me up until completion. 10 weeks post op I am 33 pounds down. People are starting to notice. I feel pretty good, hurt my ankle so have not yet really worked out, but on my way and excited. Ready for A change Needs to Advertise more with the names... All The Best.........Pretty Cali Girl Sleeved.
  24. Wow ladies, how do I do this, it seems like I need a meal plan, I am experimenting with foods...I have been since being post op 2 weeks, I am now post op week 4 and I have tried everything I love to eat, but many of those foods don't agree with me any more. Spagetti, doesnt agree with me, the sauce seems weird and it was my favorite. Amazing enought I can eat a 1/2 taco, hard or soft shell. at 4 weeks post op. I get hungry every two hours, but what ever I eat I can only eat 2 bites, and it can not be saucy like spagetti or bar b q, taste good but heart burn stuck in my throat, any advice peeps
