  1. I tried researching it and got nowhere. I plan on asking my surgeon tomorrow when I go. It is uncomfortable somewhat really.
  2. I WAS NEVER A YOGURT FAN BUT Ii CAN DO CHOBANI SO I FIGURE THAT IS A GOOD THING TO GET ME INTO YOGURT.
  3. I had RNY in March and I made a journal of these type of thoughts, feelings, pictures of outfits I looked forward to, thoughts and reflections, etc. It is fun to go to whenever I need it or want. Big for me was I want to not be an obstacle people move around. I want to express my classic style in clothes that fit-not what is available in my size. I want to feel good in my own skin. Hope. Now that I am 39 pounds lighter I do feel HOPE and it is amazing! I cleaned out my closet and clothes were too big and lots fit, and looked great. HOPE! It is amazing. HOPEFUL FOR THE FUTURE! No meds for diabetes! HOPE! I now want to be in pictures! Imagine that!
  4. I, too, am hit or miss with some foods. chicken is at times fine and other times not so fine. It is frustrating but I wouldn't change it for anything. I am loving the losing weight issue and clothes fitting so nicely. We are newbies so I expect it will be like this for a while. I am getting compliments all the time and that is nice to hear. It feels good. I am down almost 40 pounds (39) and near going under the 200 mark so that is exciting! People keep asking me "Do you feel diffferent?" I don't. I feel better about my appearance but I don't feel better ie more energy or anthing. Do you feel different? In what wqy?
  5. Yes, chalk it up to experience. Not to be repeated!
  6. Thanks for the post. I am apparently not taking enough. I will check this out.
  7. It is hard not to judge yourself here. My weight loss is less than most everyone else's. Mine is slower. I know it could be my PCOS, the fact that I did not get put on a pre-op diet, my metabolism, age, etc but I am only at 39 pounds and everyone is higher. I am thrilled with where I am and where I am going but I just wanted to vent...seems I am the turtle not the hare.
  8. I went out to eat last night and ordered a semi-spicy chicken dish that was scrumptous. I enjoyed it and chewed very slowly. It was all goood until the heat bothered me and I had to take a drink-without thinking and I took a gulp of my husband's Water. A big gulp. Bad idea it caused the foamies and i made it to the bathroom in time but threw up-out my nose, yada yada yada. The next 45 minutes or so my nose tingled with the hot from the chicken dish. it was funny and annoying all at once. The heat did not bother my stomach or throat.
  9. My psychologist recommended we clean out once things start getting baggy to free us of old baggage. I loved that idea so this weekend it is purge, purge, purge!
  10. I work at a school that is church owned and they have periodic rummage sales. They are having now and I went and tried on about 20 outfits yesterday. I came home with 16 blouses!!!! I paid on average $3.75 a piece and it felt so good to try on things that actually looked great. When the next one comes i plan on doing it again and giving them all of these clothes because I plan on them being too big! What a joy this is. I am wearing a new top today and feel great. We need NSVs like this to boost us along and confirm we are on the right track. That closet idea sounds cool too. May have to check that out!
  11. You must do what it right for you. YOU are going through it and YOU have to live with it. Do your homework and let your heart and brain decide.
  12. I am approaching that 199 mark and i can't wait. It is a milestone for sure! It is so exciting being on this journey. I too was on insulin and am now off. What a blessing this is and how good it feels to take charge again! Contgratulations to you!
  13. Remember when Oprah turned 50? How her whole life came together and she was happier than ever in her own skin and she stated how great life was? Well, that is us now! We are that age and life is good and if it isn't we are working on making it better. I believe it is a great age and we are blessed to have all the mistakes and joys we have had and we are moving down on this journey smarter for it. Let's Celebrate us and have a healthy decade of the 50s!
  14. Oh, what part of that was susposed to make me feel good? lol x3
  15. It will be romantic if you make it romantic. Perhaps by a tree or favorite park or coffee shop? The courhouse wouldn't be my choice but it could be yours. Just put some planning into it and it will be perfect and just the way you want it. Congratulations. Oh mine was perfect-a huge affair and planned for a year but that was what I wanted. It is your day to do as you want!
  16. Ok I eat emotionally too but if I am happy I eat. If I am sad, I eat. If I am upset, I eat. Nothing makes me not want to eat. Except right now with my RNY. Do I worry about what will happen with the appetite comes back? Yes. But lets uncover the keys to this and then be free. I am in and willing to do the work. Ladies let's do it-but how?
  17. It is a continuing thing. I had Mahi that was too dry and scrambled eggs that were over-cooked and both of these had to come back up. It is a very sensitive stomach for sure. I was away for the weekend and couldn't control the cooking and I learned the hard way-if it is over cooked I am going to send it back before it goes in my mouth. It is easier to send it back then to have my stomach send it back up my mouth.
  18. Thanks to this forum I am now putting Bio-Oil on my incisions, and rubbing my body with a firming lotion (Jergens) and my facial wrinkles with Bio-Oil. Haha looking good and feeling firm!
  19. I am trying to be cool with this because I know it is temporary but Iam losing handfuls of hair! My doctor said it is not from lack of Protein it is normal because we are losing weight faster than our hair follicles can handle. Biotin won't help they say. I don't know, but my hair is on the thin side to begin with and I don't have any to spare. Thanks for allowing me to vent.
  20. Chew, Chew, Chew and remember nuts are great sources of Protein but can be high calorie so do so in small quantities. I love nuts too. Almonds are harder to chew, that is true so I like the slivered ones. Watch out though, I had to wait to eat some as my first time was a reject.
  21. Good luck to you! It will be a long hot summer but a very cool fall for you! Kudos!
  22. Do you have a Pinterest Page? Loads and loads of nail ideas there!
  23. I like sparkle. I like solid nail color on my toes and then sparkle over it in a coordinating color. Lots of sparkle, thus my name. I get compliments on my toes all the time. My favorite is copper color with copper sparkles. My toes just shine! It sounds tacky but it is classy.
  24. Heads up! Everyone here is addicted to food. Don't be fooled! Rather they admit it or not they are. You have conquered one and added another. Big deal! This is your new tool to be free of all addictions. You will shine and you will conquer. Being aware of it is half the battle. As Dr. Phil says you can't conquer what you don't acknowledge. You are half way there!
  25. I was lucky. I have BCBS and no diet or weight requirements were needed beyond the 6 months of Nut and dr visit. I had several last meals....and was told to go ahead and do that!
