Sleep Apnea?
No, you should not have to wait longer.

Sleep Apnea?
It should not mean that you cannot have the surgery or would have to wait longer. If you have it, they will want you to bring your CPAP with you to the hospital. It may also help your case for surgery because it would be considered a co-morbidity.

Back in Hospital
Oh I am so sorry! My dr was talking about giving me one so I could go home and be able to have fluids overnight at home...

So sick...
I do. Absolutely. I am 7 weeks out and it has only been very recently that I am feeling better. I have had extreme nausea the whole time and was hospitalized 2x since my surgery. I have been having the same issues, and thing were getting stuck and feeling tight. I kept asking about having an endoscopy and if I had a stricture. It was always no and no. I had an endoscopy last Monday and had a stricture. They opened it up and I will have to have it done 1-2 more times (probably.) After I recovered from the endoscopy I started feeling better overall. I am beginning to feel like it is tight again, so I am not letting them make me wait til I am half dead to do anything about it. Make sure to be in touch with your dietitian. Mine has worked diligently with me to help me in the path of getting well. Good luck. I regretted it to but am coming around.

I used to be a Starbucks regular.
I loved coffee. I loved Mochas. LOVELOVELOVE. I tried a decaf iced coffee there last week and it was BAD. I thought it was just a fluke. Maybe it was just too strong. I hadn't had coffee of any kind for over 2 months. I tried a lighter tasting blend here at home this morning. Bad. Just awful. Most of my tastes had changed, everything tasted off and just wrong. Everything has gotten back to normal for the most part. I used to love coffee. Now I feel like the nine year old kid who begged her mom to let her have coffee and finally got it and it was awful! Of course I would normally have full fat half and half and now it's fat free and I know that is a big issue.... Oh goodness.....

2 Wks Post Op so looking for a Great Mentor, I'm in MD/VA area
My stay was not so nice, and that was due to the girl in the other bed next to me and a nurse named John who insisted I need to cycle through my pain and nausea.

Walking around on the legs of your pjs because they are too loose.

Endoscopy tomorrow. S/P surgery July 16.
It really does. I think I had that stricture from one week out and they wouldn't do anything. Something got stuck again last night so I am sure I have to go back. They felt like I may have to go 1-2 more times. Thank you very much, and to you as well!!!

Gained 1 pound
I gained 2 lbs since yesterday. I go up and down, up and down. I am really in a stall right now but that is ok, I am trying to get better from a rough recovery. I would rather feel better than worry about the weight right now.

Popcorn? Okay or Not?
I haven't eaten microwave popcorn in years. You are so right about what is in that bag! Yuck!
-
Popcorn? Okay or Not?
I think it is ok for me 6-9 months out, but I am only just under 7 weeks.
-
Popcorn? Okay or Not?
I was talking about popcorn today. I only ate it once about every 3 months or so before the surgery, and I have had a craving for it here lately. I was pretty sure it was one of the things listed as not to eat, along with seeds and nuts, which I also like!

Phantom Pain
Is your pancreatitis chronic? I had it too. I was sick a week after surgery and then another week later. I got my medicine stuck and ended up admitted both times, also with pancreatitis. Worse the second time.

Post op pain
For me, it was normal. Not fun, but it was my normal.

Recovery..... do you really need someone the first few weeks?
My surgery was on Wednesday 7-16 and my fiance was with me all day. I was discharged that Friday, and he was off for me that day as well. Then there was the weekend, so he was off. It was very helpful to have him with me because I was in quite a bit of pain. I also had a medicine ball and he was the one who changed my bandages every night after I took a shower. I was pretty weak after the surgery. None of us knows how it is going to be after surgery, we are all different. If it were me, I would want someone for a couple of days in the beginning...

Surgery and wedding 2015
I am getting married next fall as well. I think you will most likely be feeling fine by November, even if you have your surgery half way through next year. Many of the people here do well right out of surgery, and some of us have had difficulties. For the most part, my difficulties wrapped up at 6 weeks, and I am feeling better every day. Thank God. I think you will have plenty of time to recover, and congrats on your engagement and upcoming wedding!

Phantom Pain
You know, a lot of people don't feel a thing! I had a rough way to go also. I know it hurts to move, but the more you move, the better it is... =/

Phantom Pain
I don't think that is what it was from. I think it is where they have the scope and tools inside of you and moving them al around, and where they have to sew you back up. The dr told me that that area is where they had to cut the deepest as well as having to staple or sew things.

Phantom Pain
This happened to me as well. It was around my lower left incision (The largest one) but not really at the incision. It felt like my body was being ripped apart. The pain faded away in a few weeks. It went from the ripping to more of a burning, then to none.

starbucks question
I tried a glass of decaf iced coffee at sb yesterday and it was so bad. I used to go there every day and have a mocha. I am not sure if I just don't have the taste for it anymore or if the new barista didn't know what she was doing or what but it tasted like ass.
