Actively TTC?
How long after surgery did your doctor wait before he put you on metformin? I'm actually considering going on it myself. I used to take it with chlomid before my surgery but was told to stop all meds for fertility purposes until at least 9 months after surgery. Dr wants me to wait at least a year to try conceiving big said at minimum 9 months. My surgery was 5/28/14 an I'm thinking about starting the metformin now.

Preop pcos ttc
Congrats on getting started on your new journey! Mine has been amazing so far. I was sleeved 5/28/14 an I'm down 74 lbs! It's going so fast... I to also have pcos an hope to beat it an have a regular cycle so I can have babies. I'm 27 years old and I have had pcos all my life but wasn't diagnosed with it until I was 23. When I would go to my gynecologist an explain the lengthy or non exsistence periods, he would tell me it was my body changing an hormones going crazy! That it was normal for ladies my age to go through body changes. It wasn't until me and the hubby went to a fertility specialist that I was diagnosed. Well I know I'm probably going into to much detail so I will just shut my trap! Lol.. It's just so nice to have conversation with other ppl going through the same things as me.

Dominican Republic Duran Doll????
What all did you get done? How long did you wait?

Alcohol intake
Let me rephrase this a little... Because my doctor didn't just say, "You will become an alcoholic." He was basically giving me facts, about how most of us have an addiction an it's food, that's our comfort an go to. When we can't have certain thing we try to replace them with sonething else.. Like alcohol. Statistics show that 34% of wls patients that drink to early after surgery continue to keep drinking more than they had prior to surgery, an 15% end up doing rehabilitation programs for alcohol instead of over eating. He basically was giving me facts an letting me know the statistics of what others have gone through. I have been looking for these statistics online to post link but I can't seem to find.... Sooooo idk if dr was pulling my leg or not, but to be honest I really dnt care. It's not a crime to have a drink every now an then, so I will continue. #BottomsUp

Protonix
Protonix? What is it for? I'm assuming heartburn... I had a hiatal repair same time as sleeve an I never had heart burn a day in my life until surgery. I told my dr about I an he told me to take Zantac. It does work but not all day an take a while to kick in. I mean I could get heartburn from just drink in water!!

How did you settle on a goal?
To be honest I'm happy now at 224.... But I think it's because I haven't been that low in a while. So... I think 170-175 would be ideal for me. With my height an structure I believe anything lower than that would make me look sick! Even in high school I was 180 at a size 10/12 so it would be great to get there again;)

Alcohol intake
Almost forgot.. It hasn't messed with my weight loss either. I'm down 70 something lbs an only been sleeved 4 months.. Surgery weight 296 CW 224 Start size 22/24 Current size 14/16

Alcohol intake
My dr said to wait 9 months to a year but that the main reason was because of alcoholism. He said that most wls patients take comfort on certain foods an of course by eating them, an after surgery an literally NOT being able to have them that ppl substitute there go to. So basically when ur having a hard time dealing with something or having bad day.. Instead of munching on snack they find comfort in drinking alcoholic beverages an become an alcoholic. Let me say this... I am not an everyday drinker but occasional an events/parties I do have a couple! Now I had surgery 5/28 an yes I waited to drink for little while (2 1/2 months). Some might think that was to soon, and I will say the first time I had a drink I took a couple sips an was a little tipsy. So u really don't need much! After that 1 drink 2 months after surgery I didn't have another for another month. When I did it was a cold beer. Pre surgery I was a sometimey beer drinker(cold beer when real thirsty cause hot outside like at beach) but now I would prefer a beer over vodka. I have only drank about 3 times since my surgery but only a little each time. I no beer is supposed to be bad for u but so is cake cookies ect.. That other ppl are sneaking and doing. I would prefer to be able to go to the beach an fish with my hubby an have 1 cold beer than to sneak an eat cookies. Just my opinion...

I ❤️ my fitbit flex!! It keeps me going an motivated, because I'm constantly trying to get to 1st place! Lol.. FYI I'm a sore looser! ???? I started at about 7-8000 steps a day but I average about 16000-22000 a day now. I walk ALOT at work... At least 12000 a day are from work alone. I also like the alarm vibration to get me up;
