I don't plan to weigh myself post-op
Not weighing was the best advice I received from the site and the best decision I made. I only weigh when I have a doctor's appointment and don't own a scale so there will be 3 months between weighs this time. Today was my first NSV I tried on a pair of size 15 (from a size 22) jeans in the juniors dept and they fit like a glove. I don't get excited from my weight because it seems to be moving slow but moving none the less but those little jeans made me come home and wake my husband up to brag lol... whatever decision you make will be the best for you Good Luck!

Did anyone else break out post surgery
I have tiny bumps on my chin and I also broke out with a rash on my neck. Cortizone cleared my neck up. I think you are right about the lack of water I have not hit the water requirement since surgery.

Dr. Jalil Illan with Baja Bariatrics and Omar Acosta - A Warning
Have any of the victims contacted the local police department or maybe a local human rights group or the American consulate? It would seem that atleast one of these groups would consider reaching out to the doctor.

Trying to understand
Thank you for judging people's journey and scolding them on their reasons for joining the site. Looks like the OP might be on to something.

Incision is burning
I experienced a burning sensation at the main incision site after my gallbladder surgery it was horrible and went away fairly quick (maybe a week). However I didn't have it following VGS.

Dont be a b***h
I am hard to offend personally but there have been times that I have cringed at some of the responses. I just find it interesting that some threads paint some WLS patients as weak vulnerable victims but we don't take that into account when interacting with each other.

Dont be a b***h
I actually agree with you but it's not what you say it how you say it. "I would never put something like that in my tiny new tummy that I have spent so muvh money on and if you do maybe you were NOT ready for the surgery" vs "I don't think it is a good idea to eat pizza especially so early out. Try to focus on Protein so you can maximize your weight loss and take full advantage of your new tummy." Some people take every chance to belittle others and make it about them as if they never struggled with food issues and personally it's not helpful.

Dont be a b***h
For me when I read a thread where someone asks a question if I can relate I respond if not I don't. I have saw many threads where an OP asks if anyone has ate pizza or drank alcohol at a time that seems too early to many people and I have seen many people become what I consider rude and preachy. There are so many different diets out there and when answering a question I take that into consideration. If someone asks if anyone has ate pizza at a month out for me it is rude to say ask your doctor or you shouldn't have had surgery.

This pre-op diet is so hard i fail everyday
I feel your pain. It seemed as if it was a conspiracy after I had surgery every other commercial was for food. I probably would have noticed early if I had to do a pre-op diet. It does get better once you are on regular food, at least for me it did. I don't even notice any more or have cravings. Hang in there it is well worth it.

Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
I agree with you. I saw in a thread the surgery referred to as a medically induced eating disorder. While I have absolutely no regrets I have began to see it the same way. I am constantly thinking about what and when I will eat and if I am eating to much. It is very overwhelming.

Anyone from SoCal?
3 months... what about you?

Anyone from SoCal?
I don't weigh myself so I haven't dealt with a stall yet. I have been considering starting to weigh once a week since I will not see my doctor again for 3 months. How long have you been stalled?

Anyone from SoCal?
I'm in Hawthorne and almost 3 months out. How is everyone doing so far?

sad :(
Wait did you call this person a friend? I would hate to see an enemy! This is a life changing time for you and getting rid of toxic people could easily help you lose a few hundred lbs. I am almost 3 months out and saw my dietitian today. After the way in I was totally disappointed I had only lost 35 lbs since my surgery date. When the doctor came in the first thing she said was "congratulations on the good job you are doing, you have met our initial expectation of 35lbs in 3 months" (which was never told to me). I realized that I have been letting other people's opinions and journey get in the way of me appreciating my own. This is your journey don't let anybody steal your joy.

low fat cream soup
Wow I so understand what you are going through. I would watch the food channels all day long. My husband hated it because it made him hungry but it was very comforting for me and help me stay on plan. It was a very dark time lol.

Scale
I was sleeved on June 5th and every time I saw my mom she would ask the same thing. However it only took a few times of me reminding her that I only weigh at dr appts before she got over the number on the scale. Now she tells me how pretty I am and how good I look. Which is a whole different issue because it reminds me how far I let myself go. I know that she is trying to be supportive so I just say thank and change the subject. Do you think your friend is coming from a mean place? If not just try explaining to her what you just told us it may put things in perspective for her.

Hair
A friend had gastric bypass over 8 years ago and loss no hair so there is hope. I am still holding on to that hope at almost 3 months out.

Sucks to be a Newbie and be considered Offensive
I didn't take any offense nor did I intend any negativity. You are entitled to your opinion that's what makes the site so helpful to so many people, the differences. I had to learn to expect people not only to agree but disagree with my opinions and move on. Good luck on your journey!
