  1. Scared me too. My surgery is Monday.
  2. I put Unjury unflavored in my ice tea. Can't taste it at all.
  3. Each time I called the dr., they informed me of another needed procedure. I had the endo, waited and called and they said I need labs. Had the labs, waited, called and was told I needed to see/get cleared by my endocrinologist. I don't have an endocrinologist - never needed one. I found one and was cleared, waited then called and they asked if my pulmonologost had cleared me. Didn't have one of those either. Found a pulmonologist and he cleared me. I waited, then called... Has my primary care dr cleared me? Got that done last week. This has taken months. Had they told me up front I needed all of this, I'd have knocked it out in a week. Today they said theyve submitted to insurance. I work at the insurance company so I can follow up there. I'm really, really ready to get started.
  4. Congratulations!!! You must be over the moon! I hope I do as well as you!
  5. I was awake for mine. I don't recommend doing it that way.
  6. Why are they inserting a PICC line? Are PICC lines commonly used for bariatric surgeries? Will they remove the line before your discharge or will you go home with it in?
  7. Smoking will definitely case problems for you. Besides the effect of the nicotine on a much smaller stomach, smoking interferes with the healing process. I smoke - when I had my breast reduction the incisions took about four times longer to heal. I had a pocket that would not close- you could put most of your finger in it, it was so deep. My husband had to pack the wound full of gauze every day for many weeks. I start my preop diet tomorrow - no more cigarettes for me. I won't go through that ever again. I love to smoke, but it is not worth it.
  8. I've seen several people post that they can eat refried beans pretty early on. I'd prefer not to eat meat.
  9. When someone asks me how I lost all that weight., I'm going to give them a puzzled look aand say,"what weight?".
  10. I'm pre-op. My husband knows and I told my boss. That's it. I don't think it is anyone else's business. If/when some comment about the weight loss afterward,I plan to say thanks, and change the subject.
