  1. Called all the drs. Didn't get anywhere, Just a receptionist telling me she'll write them a note... If I don't hear back I'll be calling tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day till my letters are sent in.
  2. @@daw3378 How long did it take to get your letter of Medical necessity sent in?
  3. So I've visited with both my Primary and Ob Dr's last month and both agreed to do the letter of medical necessity, I also had my phych eval and paid $180 in full for her to write it up and send it off to my surgeon, had my nutritional counseling. So today I got a hold of my surgeon's office and all they have for me so far is my initial blood work
  4. I did find a "Mommy Group" around me at one point and went to 3 of the meeting's around the time my daughter was 2, the "Group" consisted of 10moms who got together in the evenings at one another's homes to either plop the kids In a gated area, or out back in the yard while they sat around drinking wine and talking about who had the best Home, Boat, Kid, Husband, Vacation.... I live in a apartment, Drive a used car and vacation for a week in the summer camping out at the shore lol so needless to say I didn't quite "Fit In" not to mention they were all about 20 years older then me.
  5. @@Pkdvm Northern NJ here. I have a consultation appointment with my Gastroenterologist this Tuesday, And then setting up another appointment with him to get my GI checked out. After that appointment I'm ready to send the in my papers to my insurance company and hope for approval!..My surgery is scheduled for September 8th. Another Halloween Baby (10/31/89) I always get giddy when I meet someone with the same Birthday!
  6. Thanks for the support ladies. I know my feelings are mostly temporary, So that's good. Unfortunately all friends and family are very caught up in life (As am I) for coming up with a halfway point for monthly meetings, So we take a monthly trip down at least once but it's started to feel a bit one sided as no one ever takes the time to come up and see us. My daughter won't be starting school till next fall sadly since she has a late birthday (Thanksgiving Baby), So we'll at least have to wait till then to start socializing with other mom's. I find in this area their is a lack of younger parents, Example: My neighbors who I socialize with occasionally are in their mid 40's to late 50's and have small children age's 1-6yo, though great to talk with we don't really have much in common other then parenting (Which that conversation only goes so far).
  7. @SusinMichigan Thanks for the Support and Wisdom. I really do enjoy the area in which I live, It's very white picket fence and family oriented somewhere I feel secure and comfortable raising a family. Also Home of the M&M!...I'll admit I could get out more and socialize with others but I also suffer a bit from Anxiety and sometimes find it hard making new friends, Case and point I've had the same friends since Middle School!
  8. I try my best to stay positive and fun, Especially when It come's to the forums here. But today left me feeling blue (Yeah here it come's my first really negative, possibly sad post) Not that it was a bad day, I have a lot to be grateful for..The sky was blue, It was warm, Money in my pocket and got to spend it with my husband and 4 year old daughter outside all day. When I got home I logged onto Facebook to check in with my friends and family and got to see all the great thing's they were also doing on this wonderful day, Pictures of my close friends spending time together, smiling and my 55 year old Mom who raises my 8 year old niece pictures of them at the park together..All of these great pictures with people I love, But there was something missing...Me. For those who don't know my story, I am 24yo and a stay at home mom. I live in NJ which is 3 hours away from my home state of Maryland where all my friends and family live, We live in NJ for my husbands work, I have been living here for the past 5 years and have stayed home for every single one of them. I have no friends here, No one other then my husband and daughter. And though I love them to pieces I miss those close friendships I had/have with other people. It get's very lonely staying home and I can't help but feeling like I'm missing out on life when I see my friends and family moving onto great thing's without me. I'm a pretty strong individual and I've endured a lot in my short 24 years on this earth, So I don't feel as though "Lack of support" will get in my way of success with the surgery. I just wish I had someone to spend it with... I guess a support group of sorts would be great, But I'm not there yet with being approved by my insurance and there's no guarantee that I will be so right now I feel like finding a group is a waste of time. The forums are a great way to socialize, But I guess I'm just looking for more. Is there anyone else out there in this position or have any suggestions to get out of this slump?
  9. I can't wait to wear all the cute clothes I see online that don't come in my size currently! I think one of the first thing's I'll do come next summer is get my Belly Button Pierced, Which might seem like a super silly outdated thing to do but when I was in Middle/High School it was the "IN" thing and a right of passage for young girls to go to the beach that summer and get it done and since I was always over weight I never had the courage to do it.
  10. Just thought it was interesting. I don't know much about the product other then what they show on their website (you can see more nutritional info on a computer vs. You're phone screen) but if anyone is going to their NUT visit sometime soon would you mind running this product past them and seeing what they say?
  11. The reason I didn't get the Mirana was because I was trying to avoid the hormones. My husband never felt my iud either, it was just he never got to enjoy me because I was constantly bleeding with it.
  12. "Shots shots shots shots shots shots EVERYBODY!" Saw these online... Protein in each shot...At $1.93 a piece might be worth a shot for us looking for a easy way to get our protein in! Anyone else ever tried these?
  13. I don't know about that particular class, But I have my class for Dr.Abkin in Florum Park, Nj in August. The class is 3hrs.
  14. Yay! Congratulations, you're almost there! I also have bcbs and will be submitting to them sometime this month.
  15. I went for my first appointment with the Surgeon May 17th and was given a list of things my insurance wants before approval. -Gastro Dr apt -Nutritionist apt -Phycological Eval -Letter of medical necessity -$25 course on ClairtyMD going over the procedure. -Blood work My insurance doesn't require a supervised diet thankfully. I have a 3hr Pre-op class August 12th and my "Tentative" surgery date is September 8th.
  16. See that's the funny thing, after my daughter I had a check-up and they told me I had PCOS. I went home and did some research on it and turns out they couldn't really diagnos me with it until they had done blood work, I got the blood work done and they told me I was Negative for it. Also, had the copper IUD for a year and hated it my periods were like 2 weeks long with severe bleeding. I wouldn't recommend it.
  17. I have no idea. They have a website, Just Google search Unjury.
  18. For the hair I would suggest taking Biotin supplements, You can get them at any drug store. Also I just got a coupon in ths weeks circular for a product called "Biota" It's basically a biotin infused shampoo/conditioner and comes in a serum as well. Had decent reviews online. Might be worth a try!
  19. I got a few sample packs from my Nut the other day during my visit. So far I've tried the "Chocolate Splendor" and liked it, tasted like a milky way bar! Just tried the vanilla, Not a fan... A warning to anyone that's sampling protein shakes, Never smell the shake before you taste it!..Apparently all shakes smell like poo, but taste completely different.
  20. Well, Every time I've gotten pregnant I tend to suffer from High Blood Pressure (Only when I'm pregnant). On top of that this past year I got married in October and we wanted to try again after (I did Atkins for 7 months before the wedding and lost 26lbs), So since then I've been off my Birth Control with no such luck and gained all the weight back and then some and now my monthly has stopped altogether without explanation. I went to my OB last month and she basically told me to lose 100lbs and thing's would "Fall into place", Easier said then done right? lol.
  21. Well for me, my first pregnancy started when I was 190lbs and through it had high blood pressure which resulted in pre-term labor at 35 weeks. Thankfully my daughter came out perfectly healthy at 5lbs 8oz (you would never know she was a premie now!) And I was fine after delivery. Fast forward 3 year's later 2012 I found myself pregnant again, this time at 230lbs and still suffering with the high blood pressure. I went 12 weeks before we lost the baby (heart stopped beating), whether or not it was directly related to my weight I don't really know but I'm not willing to take the chance of getting pregnant again before I lose a good amount of weight this time around.
  22. I didn't know that my co-pays don't count towards my deductible.
