  1. First time I have posted.. Today I received my date.. July 7, and it has suddenly become real... Would like some feedback from you all.. Those who have regrets and those who think it's the best decision they could have made.. I have been reading and researching. Most of all keeping up with everything on here.. I am excited and think this will be a great tool to become healthy and stay there... But there is that small small doubt ...

July 7th is my surgery date!

Thanks Stacy Jo, unfortunately I do not know of anyone who has had the surgery that I could talk to.. I agree more positives than negatives, maybe because I don't have any serious health issues at this time, and not a huge amount to lose, So I just keep thinking, should I once again do this on my own.. And not put myself at risk for the complications... But, I do already have high cholesterol , border line high blood sugar .. My mother is morbidly obese and has almost every weight related health issues.. Problem is as many times as I have lost (4 times lg amount). Have always put it back on within 2 years.. .So am hoping this will be the tool to finally get control and keep it off,..

July 7th is my surgery date!

Is anone else second guessing everything? seems like my emotions about this surgery are all over the place. Day 5 of pre op diet, and so far so good.... But I'm reading all the horror stories, vitamin deficiencies, and every other long term issues.. My Dr. Talked to me Tuesday for 11/2 hrs answering all my questions, left feeling great.. Then started researching more, again with the complications ... Saw my dietician today and she also has calmed my crazy thoughts.. feel like I am over thinking this as it gets closer.. Anyone else?
  4. Eagles321, I was told Tylenol also.. No ibuprofen... I'm glad to see this, I am on day 2 and 6 shakes a day.. (Eas advantage edge) . No hunger, headaches , or fatigue yet. Trying to stay busy , doing all those things I have put off.. I was in by car all day today and just packed a cooler.. Would love to keep up with everyone , my date is July 7... BTW.. DEXTER118.. You rock.. Keep it going !!!

    Preop Diet...starving!

I am so shocked at all the different pre op diets... My Dr. Is so strict he has said if you don't follow it to the letter, call him and we will move the date.. because if he gets in there and my liver shows I have not followed his plan.. He will not do the surgery. I am have finished day 2 and have had no physical hunger but a little emotional hunger.. His plan is 6 shakes a day, pulse SF jello and drinks ( none Carbonated) chicken and beef broth. Hope your days get easier.
  6. Chronicjam, I am right there also.. Thinking about all the things that can go wrong..

    AM I CRAZY!

Need a little advice, support, or wake up call…. My date is July 7th.. i have been reading on this forum for several months for hours at a time.. trying to be informed.. My choice has been to tell 2 people so far.. Suddenly i have had a close relative, who i have not told... talking to me about the dangers of WLS.. and how I can do this .. She has not asked me outright if I am having it…. So now i have been looking at the complication board for hours WOW.. needless to say , a part of me is saying, what the heck am i thinking, i could die or have lifelong problems…. I think i am so concerned over what everyone will think or say.. that I am freaking myself out about something that I feel will be a great tool… but on the other hand has possibilities of severe complications…. Am I the only one with these second thoughts?

    1st July Sleevers

Susan good luck with your surgery. I think it is good your r going to try to shrink your liver, but u need more protein shakes than u are doing . Mine is 6 a day ( using advantage edge , 17 gr protien, no sugar) also sugar free popsicles and jello.. My dr requires 2 weeks of this. Just thought it might help your symptoms to add more. Good luck!

    Looking for July Sleevers!

Dexter 118, I also can't imagine having to wait.. Originally when I went to the seminar, it was with the intention of having the lapband.. But the Dr. was definitely pro sleeve, but after hearing pros and cons of both.. Had changed my mind before it was over...he is my Dr. now..

    Looking for July Sleevers!

Hi everyone, JULY 7... I am so excited to find this support group.. I am selfpay.. I have also decided not to share this with friends or family.. My daughter and one good friend are the only people that know... I'm even considering telling those who will know something is going on that I'm having gallbladder surgery. Lol.. I just don't want to share with anyone yet.. Meet with my Dr. this Thursday , June 19... Will get my protien drink options.. He does 2 weeks protien drinks.. Start liquid diet June 23. I meet with nutritionalist June 27.. This has been a fast journey and I am excited, scared, but most of all can't wait for my new healthy life.. My first meeting with my surgeon he sat down and really talked to me for a long time, We were talking about the diet and he said, I want you to know this 2 week protien is doable.. I decided that I needed to know if I was asking to much of my patients, so I did it myself ... He is a young slim man.. That just really made me have so much faith that he is a caring DR. Health is his main focus... Feel like this forum has taught me so much.. Love hearing all of your stories...
