  1. So, I'm 33. I am 305 lbs. What about yourself? It is nice to have someone to go through this with. I don't know about you, but some days I feel like I'm alone in this journey even though I have people that are supportive. I guess it's because the people that are supportive don't really understand what we actually have to go through physically or emotionally when we decide to make this journey. You and me both. My date is also august 5th and scared to death.
  2. You and me both. My date is also august 5th and scared to death.
  3. I talked with a lady yesterday about her surgery and she said there was a pill out there that will help with the smell of the gas and the poop. I'm going for my pre op today and will ask my Dr if it is safe for us to have and will get back with you ladies on weekday he says. If you want to research it yourselves, the name of it is Devrom.
  4. I am 33. So sorry to hear about the problems you are having to ensure. I pray that the revision is a real success for you.
  5. So, looking foward to doing this!!!!! My date is also set for the 5th of August. I've been the insecure one too. Many times in fact. Been there, done that with the jokes about myself before someone else could do it. Good luck to you in your journey. You will be in my prayers. We have 21 days left as of today!!!!!
  6. Good luck to you as well. We all need each other's support.
  7. Of course it counts!!! We are all in this journey together.
  8. It definitely feels like the ride of a lifetime. The emotions that come with having this surgery are crazy. One minute I'm good with it, the next minute I'm nervous/scared and on the verge of tears. It surely is something that I need to help kickstart my weight loss. Good luck to you on your journey!!!!!
  9. So, been thinking last night that I might push mine out until the 19th, so I can get a little more time accrued at my job. Anyway, I've been reading a lot about the surgery and what to expect. I do know that some pre op diets require only liquids, some require liquids and a meal at supper based off a list of options you can eat, and some are Clear Liquids. As far as how long, I've read some people do it for any where around 3 days to a month. It all depends on your dr.
  10. I won't know until I go for pre op next week. Just found out I won't have full pay while I'm out. But oh well, I'm not going to let it stop me from having it. Anyway, I'll let u know what they tell me. Do you know what your pre op diet is?
  11. So, my bypass is scheduled for Aug 5th, as long as the insurance approval comes through. Everything else is done. Going for my pre-op appt next week. I am as nervous as a whore in church on the front row in a short skirt!!!!! I haven't been told that I have to have anything else done. However, I can be your Aug Buddy if you would like. It's nice to have someone to go through this together.
  12. You are not the only one. Many of us feel the same way. Keep your head up and we will all get through this together.
  13. Congrats. Hope you have a speedy recovery!!!
  14. So glad there are others out there who are on the same page as me. I too feel like I am going to be the one who only loses 20 or 30 lbs. lol. I also feel like I am alone in this even though I have family and friends who are very supportive. When is your surgery? My tentative date is set for August 5th.
  15. Thanks!! I think every woman should hear that!!
  16. My surgery isn't until the 5th of August; however, I know exactly what you are feeling. I work in the medical field and know a little too much about what will be going on. So, being a little psycho I think is normal. Just don't let it get the best of you.
