  1. Hi! had the surgery in july and have already lost 30lbs...The surgery it self was very easy and very little recovery time, mild disconfort after the surgery but no real pain, hardest was getting in and out of bed, but back to normal in a week. The surgeon found an hitial hernia when he did my lap band and corrected it at the same time....Willl always be grateful for that...my heart burn is gone and my blood pressure has stabalized...he probably saved me from big problems down the road...Don't dwell on the surgery start thinking that this is the beginning of a new and better you....Good luck
  2. Hi there are always ways to make ourselves look and feel more attractive try a new hair cut, some new make up, buy some new clothes but remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder...I know I am average looking but due to a husband who always puts me down I now feel horrible about myself, but with every pound I loose he is getting closer and closer to the curb and I am feeling better about myself, the end for him is near and a new future for myself is not far away!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Hi! I had lap band syrgery the end of July 2007 and have lost 30 lbs so far, recovery was easy and am looking forward to my second fill...would never consider the gastric bypass...to envasive for me and it is for life...where as the lap band can be taken out if problems arise ....I am very happy with the surgery so far...a much slower pace loosing weight but much healthier and my hair looks great...and that was important to me...I think the gastric is a good choice if you are super morbidly obese and you are having major health problems...if you can afford to take the weight off slower...lap band is the way to go....good luck
  4. I was banded in St.Francis hospital, Poughkeepsie New York By DR. Dominic Artuso...The surgery probably saved by life, I had a severe Hiatial Hernia that he repaired at the same time he did my lap band...Wonderful doctor..very caring and understanding would recommend him to anyone considering having the surgery...will always be grateful:whoo:

  6. They have a web site called credit care that may be able to help you with the cost of the surgery....It's like a low intrest credit card...don't give up keep searching for the answer ...try taking out different insurance...had the surgery the end of July already lost 30 lbs....best thing I every did for myself!
  7. No ...The sooner you get started the better...I ate like pig before my surgery ...eating like it was the last supper...regreted it after my surgery...could have been more lost lbs. right from the beginning!
