Hello!
Hey Shesha are you having your fill done with Dean Care? Please let me know how it goes, I need to find some follow up care here. How long did you have to wait for an apt?

Hello!
Good Sheila... keep me posted..

Hello!
Wow thanks for doing all the research Sheila, I have been banded little over a year and a half now but I just moved from NJ to WI and I loved my Dr. there and I still plan on following up with him from time to time. I haven't had any complications but my husband and I are thinking of starting a family in the next year so I'm sure I will want an unfill and fills after the baby is born and I don't want to have to keep traveling back to NJ all the time. Has anyone used or went to siminars at Dean Care in Madison, they seem to be the cheepest after banding followups for fills and such, I was just wondering what kind of reputation they have. Sara

Any Younger Bansters Here?
Hi Marissa, I was 25 when I got banded, I wasn't diabetic nor did I have any health problems at the time. I had been overweight most all my life only yo yo'ing between a size 12-22. I finally decided enough was enough and did something about it. Its been over a year and a half and it hasn't been the easiest road but would I do it again..... absolutely.

Profect
I love profect, I have at least one every day. I even got my husband using it after the gym he takes a shot. I can't stand that artificial protein taste so at least this I can get 25g down in about 2 gulps. They just interduced 4 new flavors that I ordered but haven't gotten yet. To me the only downside is that it contains aspertaime, which I'm not a fan of. I'm unsure if the 4 new flavors also contain aspertaime.

Your favorite banded breakfast.....
I can't eat anything for breakfast anymore, usually just some coffee. I have another 30 pounds to shed and would like to start having a protein shake in the morning.. anyone have any good recipies that taste good? What kind of protein mix is everyone using?

Hi Keri, I'm in the same boat as you I've been banded about a year and a half but I'm maxed out in my fills and I'm still not loosing those last 30-35 pounds. I'm going to get back to lapbandtalk to get some inspiration from everyone. Sara

GERD and the Lap Band
Hi everyone, I was online looking for this exact topic. I have been banded since 6/05 and all a sudden developed severe heartburn I have been taking a protonix in the morning and eathing pepicds like tick tacks nothing seems to help. It seems to be even worse when I go to the gym, I think the tight sports bra is irritating it even further. I will head to the store tomorrow and try the vinegar anyone else have any suggestions. Stalled
Thanks everyone, I think I am in the same boat as you shawn, I have 4cc in my band at my last fill which my doc told me is pretty much it, but I have been snacking more often, just seems to go down easier..lol I do work out 3-4 days a week so I guess the snacking is enough to just make me maintain.. as of today noooo more snacking! I will try logging my food intake on fitday. I'm not sure I'm getting enough protien either, thats one of the things I have slacked off of too. I just cant stand the artificial protien shake taste, does any one have any great tasting low calorie recipies?

BAD PB...feeling really tight...any suggestions???
Oh I've been there and did that, diddo to setting on the couch with a cup for several hours before. I had this problem before I thought I was going to die after about a week because I was so irritated that I couldn't keep anything down. I called my doctor because I thought i was going to have to go to the ER. He told me to do warm liquids not hot because that can irritate it further. I definately wouldn't do anything but liquids for a few days if your feeling that bad. My doc advised me to do liquids for a week after my bad experience but I was feeling better within about 2-3 days. Feel better!

Does the way restriction feel change over time?
Well I recieved the max fill the last time I'm at 4 cc. For me i'm very tight after a fill and after a few days I'm a little over anxious to eat something and end up sick so for me I think it has to do with BP'ing also. After being sick a few days in a row the area around the band gets irritated and swollen making me feel like I'm very tight, but I've learned if I just hold off have liquids and give it a few days I'm back to eating good again in the evenings. If you have been sick and BP'ing you may feel like your tighter than you really are due to the swelling.

good morning foods
I like a lot of people are unable to eat anything in the morning, I usually first have coffee than a few hours later can tolorate some thin oatmeal, cream of wheat or yogart, bless you all that are having pancakes and sausage for breakfast but I don't think your tight enough yet.. I just came back from the Bahamas and I was a little obsessive also, I packed protein shots with me, I use the profect shots they are a great little way to get in 25 grams of protein in 100 calories, you can find them at profect.com. Wish you all the best on your summer vacations banded style.
