Sleeved on the 26th of august...need encouragement
Follow your surgeons instructions... Your new tummy will not be healed completely for a while... Are you having protein shakes?? I started having head hunger around day5 after surgery and asked if I could start early and got told sternly NO! Haha the second week will get better when you can finally eat something... My second week consisted of Greek yogurt, mashed potatoes (make them loose or you will get a belly ache) and apple sauce (sugar free or low sugar) An cottage cheese. I made it through the first week munching in sugar free Popsicles!! Every week the first day is like Christmas!! Haha I am almost 4 months out and I haven't had any issues eating anything... Just take it slow because the first few weeks are teaching you a whole new way of eating and thinking about food. It's really worth the wait! You don't want to do anything to hurt your new tummy!! Good luck and much success to you!!

Started my journey Feb 7th.. 270 lbs... Surgery date April 23rd.... 250 lbs... Current weight August 12... 197 lbs... I'm 48 5'4 Started wearing 24 pants and XXXL everything. Currently wearing 14 pants and L everything! Best decision I have ever made falling a little but short of marrying my husband !! Haha Hitting Onederland and being able to shop in a normal store are two of the biggest thrills so far hands down!! I love the challenges on here... Did the 4 th of July one and now doing the Labor Day one!! Great motivation!! I think I have a cast Iron sleeve because nothing I have eaten has made me sick to my stomach!!! I have become a very disciplined eater. I am conscious of everything I put in my mouth and why I am putting it there!! If it's not because my body needs it I pass on it. I measure everything!! I have had the occasional three or four licks of soft ice cream then give the rest to my dogs! Haha I use myfitnesspal religiously!! That's about it!! Good luck on your journey!! Best advice i can give you... 1. After surgery.. Walk walk walk in the hospital!! 2. First week after surgery... Sip sip sip 3. Always remember your new tummy is a tool and you must treat it right and it will treat you right!! Measure measure measure!

My doc says my goal weight is 165. I'm not sure why it's so high? I would like to get to 125 myself!!

Quest Protein Bars
I'm not saying I agree with the doc but she said basically it isn't dense enough to keep you satisfied. I was having one as a meal replacement and I was feeling mighty full for a while after!! So I just listened and didn't argue... : / she said she wants me to get protein from dense meats that will help keep me full longer. Which I do eat a lot of meats!! Sandwich meat.. Thin and trim mostly.. Salmon... Turkey burgers.... It isn't like I down one for every meal!! I have one maybe every third day... They also curb my craving for chocolate! It was strange to me cause in one breath she said no protein bars and in another she said you're doing great just keep doing what you're doing! Hahahaha (Eyeroll)

Quest Protein Bars
I just went to my 3 Month follow up and my doc said no protein bars.. They are a mushy food : ( so I have dropped them altogether.

Calorie Intake 3+ months Post Op
You go under goals and set your percentage for carbs fats and protein!! Depending in what percentage you put in and how many calories you are set at I believe determines what it sets your carbs at!!! I have my calories set at 800 and my percentages are 25% carb 45% protein and 35% fats.... This made my carbs set at 50!! If you put in more calories it will up the amount if carbs...; ) it's all based on percentages!! I'm a math whiz! Hahaha hope this helps! Oh ya if you add cardio it adds calories and ups your carb goal! ; )

Mine was slow with long stalls as well... I think it's better that way as you want to relearn a new way of eating I believe it will be easier to keep it off!! I found that I want to keep losing so I really make much better food choices and I get my ass to the gym! Haha I am 3 1/2 months out and 73 pounds down 20 lost pre surgery. You are right on track!! Set small goals for yourself... Join the Labor Day challenge they are great motivators! Don get discouraged you will continue to lose and it will be a great accomplishment for you and it will seem like time has flown! Lots of people on here too that have awesome ideas!!

I am also addicted to my fitness pal!! Hah I am 3 months and a few weeks out and my doc said to try and hit between 800 to 1000 calories... Eating as much protein as possible first then veggies if room. I have my fitness pal set to 45 percent protein 30 percent fat 25 percent carbs I try to stay under 50 grams of carbs daily... I do 20 min on the treadmill shooting for three days a week but not always getting there. I hardly ever get all of the water in they want me to have.. Haha I average about 40 oz... I have one glass of fat free milk a day and eat Greek yogurt for snacks cheese stick.. Try hard to get my calcium from food so I don't need supplements. If you want friend request me on my fitness pal I have my diary open for viewing. I do treat myself occasionally but only occasionally meaning once in a blue moon! Haha I have lost 20 pre op pounds and 53 post op pounds so far! I just started doing some strength training but starting out slowwww haha
