  1. There are numerous posts about this. Many people tend to go to Mexico it's around 4-5k Texas I've seen around 5/6 Everywhere else is all over the board
  2. That didn't cause the rates to double. The reason if you are an employer of 100 or more they look at all the claims and recalculate actual costs The company also could have decided that in past they were covering 100% of all premium costs and now will only cover 70% of them. They blame obamacare because it's a usefully timed reason
  3. Honey I just want to give you a big hug. Call your moms jnsurance for that respite care. Your dad can't see that as putting her somewhere it's just a nurses aid to come in the home to do what you and your dad are already doing for a few hours
  4. I would offer you two options that you need to seriously consider and start now to make arrangements Call your moms insurance. Assuming it's medicare but potentially also medicaid. One or both will offer HER. Respite care. They will send a nurse to the home for certain hours a day for certain amount of time to give you and your dad a respite. You need to look into that immediately. For now and forever because it's hell caring for someone and a lot of folks don't take it on. Second find resources in your area allowing her to go there for the day. Like a skilled adult day care. That have the resources she needs. You shouldn't need much care at home from visiting nurses. Those come in for an hour. Give you meds, take blood etc but do not much more. They are not aides which is what your mother needs Best of luck
  5. Ahnalucille - it's not hard. Get them to forward you a summary of benefits or benefit at a glance. It will state your copays, deductibles etc. Get it for both insurances. One jnsurance cannot help you with the other. Basic assumption - if they both carry copays/deductibles then you will pay the lesser of the two
  6. I posted it on my facebook page when I checked in at the hospital. So far all but one has been supportive. That one should have it as well but believes she can do it with diet. But alas were no on her friends so I can't support her in that belief
  7. I am still getting used to this new body of mine. But I can tell you I don't miss a damn thing. Not one damn thing.
  8. Keep nagging the surgeon. They get pounds of mail everyday I forced mine to call them. Then I got the letter and faxed it over
  9. They don't have to resubmit. They call the jnsurance with the authorization number. The jnsurance changes the name of surgeon and hospital. Most insurances will do that for you. You should call the carrier and find out which surgeons are in network and if it has to be at a center of excellence. Good luck
  10. Actual time is more like 7-10 business days. Call and make sure they have the auth request and then call every few days to check a status You will know before the doc
  11. My yearly deductible $4500 Max out of pocket $9000 per year 2014 was expensive. And I work at the insurance company. Smh
  12. Glad to hear you are better. My prayers for your wife as well
  13. Amen. I always say obamacare didn't go far enough!!!
  14. If you have aetna and have a net gain from start to finish you can guarantee a denial.
  15. Cigna doesn't have a net weight requirement. That's aetna Here's the medical policy https://cignaforhcp.cigna.com/public/content/pdf/coveragePolicies/medical/mm_0051_coveragepositioncriteria_bariatric_surgery.pdf
  16. See my pm. This shouldn't be a problem. If it wasn't brought up before am surprised but perhaps your coverage changed on 1/1/15? This is not the type of change that an employer is required to notify you of
  17. Most insurances pay the hospital for the EVENT surgeries are payable in a different way to surgeons. You get the first procedure authorized - sleeve etc The hernia is a secondary procedure. The insurance may pay for it or may deny it as inclusive to primary insurance. Either way the patient is not responsible and it's a loss to the doctor. As long as the procedure you want is clearly stated on auth - the sleeve. You're fine and good to go
  18. When you pay off the Lane Bryant credit card by check and put a big pink kiss on it You start shopping at store you never thought were possible. J crew, uniqlo
  19. I think evry surgeon is different. With the holidays a lot of folks were off. I would follow up with the office tmmw if they have not called you. I knew before they did that I was approved. Because I called my insurance every day. They don't.
  20. Call your insurance monday and get the facts from the horses mouth. Quickly.
  21. You sound like my husband and the last thing I want is sex It's CONSTANT pressure to f CONSTANT Girl can't take a pee without a reference to his Dick Want to see it? No I don't I mean every single possible second. I don't know how old you are but grow the f up.
  22. @@SuperKen isn't Bessler wonderful? Love him. Clocked right away as well. I started with Schrope but seems she's not in my network while he is.
  23. Talk to your doc. Edit the title of your post so folks can see pregnant. I know there are sleevers who became pregnant post op pretty soon. Also go to the search and type in pregnant. Many prior posts exist
