  1. Definitely consult another Doctor. I have been banded 5 months now and can still eat anything that I want, including sweets! Only now if I have any sweets it is in moderation. I absolutely LOVE my band. /This was one of the greatest decisions that I have ever made!!!!!!!!
  2. Dr Hahn preformed my lapband surgery on 11/30/07. He is absolutely the best in the area. His bedside manner is calm. He is always there to answer any questions. I am so pleased not only with my surgery, but the after care that I receive is outstanding. His office staff are always very polite and will help in any way possible. I can talk to a person everytime that I call, No phone tree to deal with!!!! I searched on obesity help and lapbandtalk for other peoples reviews of Dr. Hahn and everyone had only good things to say about Dr Hahn.
  3. :eek:I went in for a fill 6 weeks post op and the Dr wasn't able to find the port (thinks it may be turned slightly). I am scheduled to fill under fluro. Well, I am soooo thankful to God that it worked out like this because my granddaughter had a 48 hours stomach virus. I ended up with the same virus for 2 days now and if I had gotten my fill I am worried how I would handled the vomiting if I would have been filled. Now my 1st fill is 2 days away. My doc wants my restriction about the size of a pencil eventually. How does people do with fills when they have nausea/vomiting??
  4. Congrat's to all of you! I am newly banded 2wks. I lost 12 lbs in 1 week (weighed at doctors office at 1 week)haven't weighed since then. This first 2 weeks of liquid diet was hard for me because I don't really like soup, but I've made it to my soft food stage and it's getting better. It took me over a week and plenty of heating pad time to work the soreness from the gas out. Also, plenty of walking to help with this. I also researched the lapband for 6 months before deciding to get this done. I am sooooo excited about my decision to get the lapband. Prayers go out for all of you getting the lapband. Congrat's again. Wishing you the best.
  5. LOL...maybe they should have warnings with Charlie Brown......hmmm I've done something like this before...funny then too.
  6. Congrats on the soon to be banded! I am Newly banded 1 week ago. I cannot believe that this is coming out of my mouth, but for this past week I have not wanted anything sweet i.e. sugar free puddin, popscicles,jello...or anything that is liquid and sweetened with splenda. This may not seem like a big deal, only this comes from someone, who before my surgery I would rather eat anything sweet! I use to have a DP and several candy bars a day, plus other sweets and chips. I would rather eat junk food that healthy food. As I said it's only been 1 week, but I have NO desire for sweets....(It's still strange saying that)
  7. I was banded 11/30/2007. This is day 4 and since I am not a soup eater (I detest broth!) it's been hard. I have another 10 days to go on liquids. UGH!!! I have been experiencing some hunger now and everyones food looks soooo good! If anyone has any ideas of other things besides soup, please let me know!
  8. Thanks sooooo much Sue. I will certainly try the baby spoon (I have some in my kitchen drawer) and the hourglass...Great Idea!!! Thanks again.
  9. PRE-Banded (scheduled Nov 30,2007)but, I am having the Worst trouble eating small bites! I think that I could keep up with soldiers that are in war and MUST eat very fast. I find myself gulping food. (I think that I have been doing this a long time and just not noticed it). I try taking small bites and end up stuffing in more food before I've swallowed the last bite. Also, I think that I only chew for about 20 seconds tops. Has anyone else had this problem? How do I stop this? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
  10. I turned into my doctor's office questions they asked about previous diet plans(atkins, sugar busters, weight watchers south beach diet, hydroxyl cut, etc), exercise(several years of gym memberships) , diet prescriptions, high abdominal fat, my recent blood pressure that was borderline high but back to normal now without med, chronic fatigue, showed 6 months of Dr. supervised weight loss try, only went back 4 years for documented weight although I have been over 200 for at least 7 years. So I only filled out the Dr's questionnaire, I assume the office took care of the rest! Great Job!! I hope this helps! Good Luck, and God Bless! :clap2:
  11. I know! It was down for 2 days and I had to go to obesity help. It's ok but seems more geared toward RNY.
  12. Maybe it was just the way she was eating but, my daughter was taking Xenical for a while and she said that she could be just standing (thankfully at home) and would just feel something run down her legs. After I heard about this I have NEVER dared to try it any longer. Like I said, knowing her, I'm sure that it was just her diet, but ugh!
  13. I am scheduled for surgery Nov. 30 and have read about getting hungry, and was wondering if it is ok to take diet pills for hunger until you are allowed mushies? Has anyone else tried this?
  14. I am scheduled for surgery Nov. 30. I have always LOVED hot sandwiches. I could eat bread with every meal. Reading your comments about getting to where you don't really care about bread is SO encouraging! How is pasta and rice, if you don't mind me asking? Well thanks for all the info.
  15. I talked with my Doctors office today and I have been approved (UHC choice plus) for LapBand Surgery November 30, 2007 I am sooo excited and nervous at the same time. The unknown can be a little scary, but my excitement of really having good weight loss is greater. I have tried to lose weight by exercising (walking 3 miles a day, when that didn't work I started running 1 mile a day) usually 4X's a week. Still, I might have lost a pound, but my clothes started feeling tighter. Also, I was watching what I ate but maybe I didn't do as good as I thought I was. Very Discouraging!!! Anyway I am looking forward to Nov. 30 and a New Life!
