    Warning, Self Pity Party Ahead

I've just gotta chime in because I AM one of those people who can wear a 16 weighing 240. I am not extremely tall.. 5'7, but my bariatric clinic measures how much your bones weigh to calculate your goal. My bones weigh 171 pounds. So I am going to be a "heavier" size 16 due to that. Everyone's bones weigh different. So more goes into your goal weight than just height and frame. Just thought I'd add what I learned to this post. I'm jealous of all you who can weigh 150 pounds. As you see, that will never happen for me.

Pre-Op Headaches Any ideas for help?

I'm not a vet. I had my rny on July 7. But I am a migraine sufferer. In fact I had 3 while in the hospital. I am still able to take Imitrex. It still works just as good for me post op as it did pre op! Good luck to you!
  3. Hi everyone- My bypass is scheduled for July 7 and recently I seem to be reading a lot about things people can no longer tolerate after surgery. For instance, I just read of a woman who packs all her own food when invited to cookouts because she rarely finds bariatric friendly food. Is this normal? What are some of the things you have not tolerated? And what foods did you love that you no longer do? Thank you!
  4. That's a great tip! Thanks!!
  5. Thank you to both of you! Right now, potato chips of all kind are my weakness. It would be awesome to no longer crave them or eat them!
  6. Hi friends I've been lurking around for 6 months but this is my first real post. My surgery date is July 7, and as I muddle my way through my 2 week post op diet, I'm thinking about foods I love. So... What foods did you love before surgery, that you don't now? And what foods can you no longer tolerate?
  7. kat77.... How far out are you? Food really doesn't taste good?
  8. I LOVE to hear that!! Thank you!

    2 week liquid diet

Hi! I'm finishing week 1 of my liquid diet. I'm not gonna lie... It's been rough. I'm allowed non starchy veggies on my plan. If you are allowed that, my favorite has been chopped garden zucchini and mushrooms, sautéed with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray. Then 1/2 C low sugar tomato sauce on top. Next week will be even harder! I'm teaching an 8 hour cooking camp each day.... Committed to long before my surgery date was scheduled. Best of luck to you!!
