  1. Monte I had watermelon today. Was lovely! Ate one bite too much and spit it out before I swallowed. But it was great.
  2. Lol. Totally a typo!! Using phone. Gotta love auto correct.
  3. Thanks for starting the thread. Did you add up last weeks losses from Monday weigh in? That's why I hadn't posted a new week yet. Lol I'm in Gatlinburg Tennessee this weekend. Doing soft foods and chewing well. I'm considering upping my calories a few days to kick start things again. Is good to keep things guessing. Easy to do since we are at restaurants daily.
  4. My doctor said at least a year to year and a half before you try any soda and even then to make sure that you drink it very very slowly so that it doesn't stretch out your stomach and make you feel ill. I have never liked wine. I wonder if my new taste buds will mean I'll like it better! I've always preferred sweet things because they didn't seem that sweet to me so maybe bitter wine won't seem quite so bitter. Lol
  5. Jersrose43 I never considered doing it in the US. After much research I found the best surgeon I could find with the best flow up care, and it was in Mexico. Which meant I didn't have to jump through insurance hoops, and I liked that. I meant I had 3 days in the hospital instead of outpatient. I liked that. It meant I had 3 leak tests instead of just the one during the surgery. I liked that. It meant I got to see a barium swallow of my own stomach and have pictures of it and can see how it works. I liked that. It meant going to a surgeon who fixes other surgeons bad sleeves because he is so well known for his tight, well done sleeve. Which I loved. This isn't a surgery where you just pick a doctor and go. The is a talent and an art to doing it right if you don't want it redone and I wasnt going to risk this important surgery on whatever doctor did it that was close. With his complication rate less than 1% I was willing to risk I wouldn't have any and not worry about that part. I picked the surgeon, being in Mexico and less than 9k was a bonus.
  6. Woooooo dsmcasey, you are a while small chili from Wendy's?? Takes 2-3 meals for me to finish off one
  7. If you want to be added on the Facebook page please find me and friends me and I'll add you. Email luvnailz@gmail.com
  8. Are you taking a PPI? Many times hunger is confused with excess avoid in the stomach - which also causes more time for everything to heal. The part of your stomach that produces the hormone food hunger should be removed. Do you have a picture - a barium swallow of your new stomach? If you aren't on a Ppi you should ask your doctor for a prescription. It could really help.
  9. Anyone else so have an open wound? My main scar's scab came off leaving a hole. I bandaged or so it didn't get dirty since it isn't rescabbing. Depressed I can't just talk to my surgeon if I wanted to, he passed away in a plane crash this weekend :-( by the is a whole team. Just sad..
  10. Can't wait to weigh in! I just finished a trip to Vegas (well I'm on my plane to go home.) I was able to eat at buffets and have some nice variety, a bite here and there of soft foods. I didn't overstuff and didn't feel deprived. Hoping I lost a bit with all the walking. :-) I work until 10pm tomorrow night so if someone else wants to start the new thread for the week with the list of everyone and losses go ahead!
  11. Wow that is crazy! Do you have bag acids reflux? If not, then the sleeve is an awesome option :-)
  12. No no don't worry. Most feel the overstuffed feeling at some point. Just be careful this early. Your stomach takes 6 weeks to heal.

  14. This has a big scar down the middle. Why choose this over a body lift? Curious
  15. Just be careful. Your stomach is healing. They have you on liquids so your stomach won't stretch and cause leaks. Best not to tempt it.
  16. I I just learned that my dear surgeon has died in a plane crash. I am so so glad I got to need him and have my sleeve just over 3 weeks ago by him. I will miss getting to see him at reunions and sad I can't send friends and family to him in the future. He was a master in his field.
  17. Wow amazing!! 130 is what I want to lose. How is the excess skin?? That worries me the most, especially being single.

  19. Today is weigh in day! Glad you all are already on it! The list at the beginning of the group will always be weight lost. Hopefully everyone gets weighed in and we can see the group progress! I have to win in tomorrow as I fly home tonight.
  20. My doc said the rumbling is acid. Are you on ppi? If not I recommend one!
  21. Probably gas

I flew to Mexico for my surgery. And home 3 days later. The isn't a reason not to fly.
  23. Not exercising yet. Waiting until I can get about 500 calories in. My body doesn't like to lose if I'm working out and too low calorie. So now that I'm eating puree food (actually more like soft food because I'm out of town and puree is near impossible. I'm starting to have food dreams. Lol. Anyone else?
  24. 17 pounds in 3 weeks is fast. If you are really active it might be slower. And I think people that were on liquids diets lost more at the beginning. Plus if you are already out of 20s you don't have as much to lose as someone 300+ pounds. Lots of factors go into it. But if you hit 20 this month and 15 next month you are likely right on track! M The I'm enjoying food again! After 20 days of liquids I've enjoyed some baked potato, sweet potato and chili. I was a mad woman cleaning house yesterday, got a good sweat but not too much. I'm down to 238 today. That's 30lbs since my preop started a month ago. I hope it keeps moving. I'm 50 lbs from my first goal, hope to reach that by labor day! :-)
  25. For those of you exercising a lot, be sure to get at least 600 calories in. I look forward to exercising but I can barely get 400 calories in so fast so I'm going to wait. Wish I had been able to have surgery 4 months ago. I'm heading off on a trade show trip. I'm probably the same size as I was last year (I had gained after the summer). So even though I've lost 30lbs I will look no different to anyone. Blah. I'm excited next year I have a big possibility of being very small. But this year still sucks. Oh well. I expect to do more pictures tomorrow. My weight is right at 240 and I'm trying to remember to take pics every 10lbs. 10 more photo sessions and I'll be at goal! Up in 4 hours to catch a flight. Should be interesting doing restaurants! Oh boy
