  2. diane1-I called the insurance they said I'm approved. I met the criteria. They are just waiting for our medical review to sign off and send the info to the doctor.
  3. Being 41 with a baby that will be 1 in April. Knees popping when I go upstairs Feeling like I'm going to pass out if I rush for a train. A friend of mine had it in May of last year and she has lost 100lbs. and looks so great. I'm tired of dieting and losing a lil and gaining double. I want to be active again because I wasn't overweight all my life. The weight has just been coming more and more. I have to do this for myself my hubby which is planning to have it also and my boys. 11mos 9 and 14 yrs old. I need to show them a healthier lifestyle.
  4. Update!!! So I called my insurance today. They reviewed my notes and it states I met the criteria! She said they approved on the 24th but that dept has to note it in the system and they haven't done that yet. Said they may be backed up. At least I know i am approved!!!
  5. Mirabb2002-my psych eval was my last appt prior to submitting. It lasted all of 10 or 15 min. Her questions were really geared to make sure I didn't have any mental health issues that can hinder the surgery from being successful. No questions out of the ordinary. History if Weightloss attempts. Why surgery. Do I suffer from bulimia. I definitely would not worry about it.
  6. Fuzzyman-try not to be nervous. Everything will go fine. Not to long to a new start a new you!!
  7. Dharriott-I hear mine will only be protein shakes and as many apples and bananas I want. I will do whatever the dr says but yours sounds much more pleasing. Lol
  8. Dharriott & sarahjane79 - I know TX & IL are affiliated so I am hoping I have a great time frame like you guys!
  9. 30something-that is so crazy! I know you can't wait to have surgery. I know my doctor doesn't do the lapband anymore. I hear more complications with it. Catherine2540-that is great! Good Luck! Let us know how u are doing
  10. Fuzzyman - that's great! What's your pre-op diet? I see it's differs per doctor?
  11. 30SOMETHING- OMG. What went wrong with the lap band?
  12. Wow! U guys insurance rocks. I will try to wait til the end of next week before I call.
  13. Yes. That's very true. I will try to be more patient
  14. Awesome Desiree323! Good luck! I look forward to hearing about your journey!
  15. I haven't had the sleeve surgery yet but I did have a baby last year. I had a tubal ligation with my c section and my hair shedded more. My edges even got thin but that may have been from braid tension. It shedded quite a bit but as u can see I have a ton of natural hair. I think it comes with surgery but it's minimal.
  16. Daunique1 - 4 days in seems you are doing awesome. I would imagine u wouldn't have a desire to eat right surgery. Just keep getting your strength up and try to rest. It's good to know BCBS only took 10 days for you. Makes me feel better. How long after approval were u scheduled for surgery? Are you home now or still in the hospital?
  17. readyanxiousscared-I was told BCBSIL insurance wouldn't be a issue either. I'm hoping for April or May surgery date.
  18. Daunique how has things been going for u so far?
  19. All my testing is done. I am waiting on insurance approval now. I am planning for my surgery at little company of Mary in Evergreen Park. What about you?
  20. Where are my Sleevers? The ones that had it this year or are preparing or waiting on insurance approval. Where are you having it? Whose your doctor? How's it going so far? Anything you would like to share.
  21. My papers were submitted to my insurance on the 12th. I hate the waiting. I want to know and get started already!
  22. Catherine 707- I said if I hadn't heard anything by the end of next week I would call.
  23. Mommyof3sweetboys-that is great! I hope mine doesn't take very long. You would think I would have some pull being that I work there. No such luck. Lol
  24. So I finished all my testing on 02/12/14. All information has been submitted to the insurance. My question is how long did your approvals take? If it was denied first what you had to do to get approved? Everyone has different insurances(mine is Blue Cross of IL) so I know timeframes will vary. I am just curious and extremely anxious.
  25. Hi! I am new to the site. I am planning on working with Dr Gerald Cahill at Little Company of Mary in Evergreen Park, IL. I am in the process of waiting for insurance approval. All paperwork was submitted on 02/12/14. I know it hasn't been that long but I'm super anxious to find out. Good Luck to all and I hope everyone is doing well on this cold day!
