New Jersey Sleevers?
Jerseygrl, I'm struggling with wanting to weigh myself everyday. Many of the bloggers here have recommended not doing it. So I'm trying to wait until my doc appointment. But that hasn't been working. I give in about every third day. I think you and I just both need to trust the process a little more and not get to involved with the scale yet. Good luck to you. I know I need it myself

New Jersey Sleevers?
Jerseygrl I'm jealous that you get to eat crackers. Lol. I was sleeved march 20th. My nut has me on a puréed diet until April 14th. Than hopefully I can have a cracker. Lol it's one of the things I have been craving. Mostly because of all the soup I've been eating. Old habits die hard.

Newbie- is my sleeve gonna work?
Small amounts of Real food are very filling for me. Water and clear broth are not. Are you able to add protein powder to your broth?

Any thyroid cancer patients on here?
I was sleeved March 20th. A thought just occurred to me. I am heavily reliant on protein shakes and powders and I'm assuming that I will remain that way for a long time. I am due to do my yearly low iodine diet in July. Do protein powders have iodine? If you have been through this after being sleeved. Please give me some advice.

Newbie- is my sleeve gonna work?
I was sleeved march 20th and I felt exactly the same way. My nut cleared me for scrambled eggs. I can only eat one egg. That's it. But I am able to down water with no problem. I can go through 12 oz of water in 15 min with no discomfort.

Chores?!
Lol. No problem. I understood it.

Chores?!
Thank you. I guess I'm not being so paranoid after all. It's just crazy to me cause I almost feel fine.

Chores?!
I am two weeks post op, and my house is a mess. My husband has been trying his best. But his version of clean and my version are two totally different things. I am able to do some basics like the dishes and dusting. However I can't vacuum, therefore can't mop. And forget about the laundry. We have two dogs and this is driving me nuts. I should clarify that I feel fine and I feel like I could do all of this, but I worry about overdoing it. Is anyone else having this problem? Am I being paranoid?

Post op pain
I was sleeved march 20th. I am also a side sleeper and was finally able to sleep on my side two nights ago. I found that I was more comfortable on my back when I had something propped under my knees. I felt a little like a turtle on it's back. But I adjusted after a few days

The "W" is gone!
Congratulations! I can't wait for the same.

Vitamins?
I am two weeks post op. I am taking liquid vitamins and I can't stand them. I will ask my surgeon when I see him next week but I'm curious. When did you all start back on regular vitamins?

I hate not drinking while I eat.
I'm still on the puréed phase. But I can definitely see my self picking food with more liquid for that reason.

I hate not drinking while I eat.
Thank you for the link. It makes sense to me now

I hate not drinking while I eat.
I also constantly worry about not getting enough water.

I hate not drinking while I eat.
I'm about two weeks post op and doing well. I'm currently on the puréed food phase. I am HATING not being able to drink water while I eat. I constantly feel like I need to cleanse my pallet. I can't imagine what it's going to be like when I start back on whole foods. Any suggestions?

March 2014 Sleevers
Jerseygrl I had the same problem with the gas. Walk and move around as much as you can. I also had trouble with cold liquids. My doctor said this was because the cold makes the esophagus spasm and there is still a lot of gas in there. This went away in a few days for me.

March 2014 Sleevers
I am day 7 post op. The first three days were the worst for me. But it really does get better. FYI ask your doctor to prescribe a liquid pain med like Tylenol with codeine. That's the only one I can take that doesn't make me nauseus. Made a big difference for me. The other was getting my protein in. I started putting vegetable protein in my broth. Good luck. Keep your heads up

Sleeve question - hunger hormone?
I'm only a week post op. But so far I would say yes this is true. I have felt mildly hungry a few times. My doctor said this would happen and that the hormone does eventually return.

March 2014 Sleevers
Jerseygrl09. Good luck. I'm a jersey girl also. I'm in the Trenton area. I had my sleeve done last week and I have had some downer moments this week. But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I am already down 10 pounds.

I didnt realize how much i would miss food
I def only have moments of missing it. The rest of the time I almost feel free. Free of meal planning and going to the store and buying way more than I need. It's really kind of nice. I just have crazy craving moments.

I didnt realize how much i would miss food
Ok so this feeling comes and goes. I'm a week post op and on a very positive note I am down 10 lbs. I'm still on the liquid phase and hopefully the doctor will let me start on soft foods tomorrow. I am nervous about starting on food. However sometimes I miss it. I realize it won't be forever. But I keep thinking how much I would love a good piece of bread with some cheese.

Shoulder pain?
I went back to my chiro today. And he feels it is definitely muscular. He described almost like a bad Charlie horse in my shoulder. He thinks it had something to do with dehydration.

Shoulder pain?
I'm honestly not convinced that it is gas. I'm thinking somehow I tore something

Shoulder pain?
I've been walking and walking. No relief. I've been icing, heating, and electronic stim. Nothing is working
