  1. You look great!!! Awesome job!
  2. That's so awesome!! Great job!
  3. I'm having a EGD done also, but mine is going to be done in the office. They told me I would be able to drive myself. I'm a little nervous about that!!! Ah!
  4. Small world! Dr John Touliatos is doing my surgery. He is very nice! His whole staff is wonderful.
  5. Well good luck with your initial appointment. Keep in touch! Let me know how it goes!
  6. @@urban*decay Thanks! State insurance is pretty good. I'm lucky to have it. Have you scheduled your surgery yet?
  7. That's exactly how I feel. I work in a pharmacy that only has 6 employees so it's going to be tough hiding it. If they were the supportive type I wouldn't mind them knowing but they are very negative so I'll just keep it quiet for now. I'll have 9 days off then work 2, then off for the weekend so hopefully it'll work out fine. Good luck to you on your journey!
  8. Haha. I thought it was pretty lenient too, but hey doctors orders! It'll be interesting to see how it really goes come May. Are you doing anything BEFORE the 2 week pre-op to prepare?
  9. Oh awesome! Mobile is a great place. My 2 weeks pre-op diet I have to do 4 protein meal replacements a day and 1 serving of very lean meat and all the non-starchy green vegetables I want. No carbonated drinks, no milk, no fruit or fruit drinks, and no breads. Then the day before surgery it's clear liquids. Its not as bad as I've heard some people talk about! What is yours going to be like?
  10. Thank you! And yes, I'm having mine done in Birmingham, AL.
  11. Hey everyone! I'm scheduled for surgery on May 20th.
  12. Hey! I'm having my surgery May 20th. I'm so excited! I just wish it was a little sooner. lol
  13. Congratulations!!!
  14. My surgeon's office has scheduled everything, so surely I won't have to repeat them. But I will ask just to make sure! Thanks for the heads up
  15. Thank you! You'll have to let me know if 9 days was enough. Hopefully you won't have any dizziness or get sick! I worry about that too though and wonder how I'm going to explain it to coworkers. ????
  16. I was approved by BCBS of AL in only a matter of 2 weeks. I'm having a EGD and EKG done on April 15th and my surgery date isn't unit May 20th. (Due to me already having a vacation planned) My question is how long is everyone else taking off work? My doctor said some people go back to work after a week. Right now I have 9 days off after surgery. Do you think that will be enough? I don't do a lot of bending, mostly just standing and walking (for 10 hrs). My employer isn't aware that I'm having surgery, and I'd like to keep it that way if possible. Thanks in advance!
  17. Congratulations on your surgery tomorrow!
