  1. So I've been reading that for a few weeks post op, we should be at 600-800 calories per day, and 70-100 grams of protein per day. How do you get that much protein with so few calories?
  2. Add some fat free milk to your egg while scrambling and they aren't as dry.
  3. I was allowed peanut butter, but it had to be natural, on day 8. I just ate a tablespoon of it by itself and it was fabulous! Today I mixed a tablespoon of it with a little chocolate protein powder and it was even better, but it was really thick. At this stage I'm also allowed skim milk, so I drink about two ounces with the PB to get it down.
  4. Well I'm kind of glad it finally happened though because I was starting to think my sleeve was messed up. I guess it's hard to get full on liquids though.
  5. Oh my gosh.... I just ate a tablespoon of natural peanut butter mixed with protein powder and 1/4 of a small banana. I feel so stuffed. Like it's up to my throat stuffed. How long does it take for this feeling to subside? And should I just sit and wait for it to pass, or get up and move around?
  6. Sounds like staying on soup will just be easier!
  7. Who knows why... Our diets are all so different I don't question anything anymore! Lol!
  8. My week 3 says "well-cooked soft vegetables". I'm just excited to eat something soon that I can't drink, even if it's only 2-3 bites!
  9. Ok so I have questions.... The questions are going to show what an idiot I am when it comes to cooking... I normally open a can of corn or peas and microwave them. Please help! 1. Just microwave raw zucchini? 2. How do I mash cauliflower? Do I boil it in Water first? 3. Roast? Do you just mean bake in the oven? 4. How do I steam broccoli?
  10. I just had surgery 4/18, so we'll be on this journey together!
  11. I'm not sure what stage you are but I found a pretty tasty way to enjoy 'pizza' on my low carb pre-op diet. I fixed them for my kids tonight and even my seven year old loved it. I just watched while I ate my creamy chicken Soup. :-( *Low carb tortilla such as 'flat out light wrap' Put it in the oven on 400 for 5-7 min each side to get it crispy. Trust me, it is MUCH better crispy! *spaghetti sauce of choice, but go light. Maybe even mix with unflavored Protein powder. *topping of choice (I have used pepperoni, bacon, jalapeños, and grilled chicken is fabulous on it to get your protein) *top it all with shredded cheese of choice *broil on low until cheese is melted
  12. I'm allowed cream of wheat and oatmeal at three weeks. Every doctor is different, so she is just going by the plan her doctor gave her. Purple - Try mixing vanilla Protein powder in with your cream of wheat. You will fill up faster with less food! I mix vanilla Protein Powder with vanilla Greek yogurt and only two ounces fills me up. However, if I have creamy chicken soup, I can eat 4-6 ounces. But I started mixing it with unflavored protein powder and only eat half that and don't get hungry nearly as fast. I'm only three weeks out and yes, I get hungry. Not just mind hungry. Real hunger. I can tell the difference. Everyone's body and journey are different.
  13. On Friday I can start soft cooked veggies. What do you all recommend? I never thought I'd be do happy to eat a vegetable!
  14. Yep a tummy tuck will take care of most of it anyway. When they make the incision to repair the muscles, they pull the tummy skin down and cut off excess skin and the lower belly skin up and cut off excess skin before meeting in the middle to close up.
  15. I bought GNC unflavored whey. It has 24 grams per scoop. I have been mixing 1/2 scoop with 1/2 cup of Campbell's cream of chicken and I can't taste the protein at all. And one can of soup has lasted for 3-4 meals!
  16. I can't wait to have real food! Just a cheese cube would be fabulous!
  17. The coughed on sneezed on made me feel much better. Haha. However I just saw fruit and a chocolate fountain and almost cried. Lol!
  18. Yeah I plan on sipping the juice out of the chicken noodle soup. It's more of a mind thing to me.
  19. I am on my way to Golden Corral for a family birthday celebration. I don't typically like the restaurant except for a good salad, but it's still going to be hard to sit and just watch everyone eat.
  20. Well I forgot to add I work for a healthcare system. While I don't work on site at the hospital, I know everyone there and it's a small town. Everyone will know anyway. :-)
