  1. I was going to have tuna salad and refried beans tomorrow do you think that the pea soup wS just too small?
  2. But then point is I can finally more past broth.'i was so excited to have soup, I was going to have refried beans but had the pea soup. It was like air. Was it just too liquidy? I'm at purée phases.
  3. So Karinbuck, are you saying that I maybe had to thin a texture or what? I'm confused, eggs filly you?
  4. So I started puree tonight and I am still hungry. There seems to be a lot of variance in puree. I mean, I had very liquidy pea Soup which is obviously thinner than refried Beans. Is this why I feel like I had broth, I'm totally hungry no joke.
  5. So, I'm super worried and depressed. Today is the 7th day, had my follow up, was feeling pretty hungry today on my liquid diet. Doctor cleared me for purees so I had my 3 tablespoons of pea Soup I had made earlier for the occasion. I feel like I had nothing. I am just as hungry. I am very sad thinking that purees would be more filling and I'd be on my way to knowing this is going to work.
  6. I don't think um testing but 1 ounce of liquid every 15 min is going to send me to ER for dehydration I think. I've gotten different instructions from every person from group who has called me.
  7. So, I have been having all of the right things, broth, Protein drinks, Water, but I seem to be able to tolerate a bit more than the doctor who took my drain out indicated. Is this okay? I have not had one thing not allowed (even though I'm a bit hungry at times) and hope at tomorrows appointment I can start purees. I can take a cup of unjury chicken Soup down in 15 minutes or less. Is this wrong? Is my sleeve not working?

  9. So, when the doc took my drain out he said 4 ounces of liquid an hour. Yesterday when the nurse called to check on me she said no problem with liquids as tolerated. So today, although it took fully 12 hours or so, I got 2 1/2 Protein drinks in , a cup of broth, a popcycle, and some Water. Tonight I feel very bloated. I'm worried that I ruined my sleeve. I'm also really constipated and nurse said to start taking Colace which hasn't done much yet. I don't know if I'm sore, bloated with gas, or if I did something worse with all my liquid today. I'm super nervous. Advice would help thanks.
  10. Yeah the slime surprised me as I only had 4 ounces of liquid an hour. I just find so much inconsistency in my instructions
  11. So I was sleeved Friday the 28th and got home yesterday. Once I had my leak check I was given fluids (thank the lord). The nurse and doctor said to only have 4 ounces in an hour which comes to one ounce every fifteen minutes. There is just no way to make quota for Water and Protein unless I did this 24/7. So its frustrating as I'm thirsty, etc. Then the onfloor nurse said take sips of water in between those 15min. Then the doctor who took my drain out said no, that water is part of the 4ounces. I'm so thirsty and not feeling as "unhungry" as I was hoping to this soon. Then today when the nurse checked on me she said take them as tolerated. So that seems to be a tremendous amount more that I can have as I'm tolerating quite well. I had one point last night where I got very nauseated and my mouth filled up with what I guess is mucus, it wasn't stomach acid that is for sure. So I waited longer till my next sip. So, at 3 days out am I supposed to have water more regularly? Protein Drink? I find everyones answer different.
  12. I'm not sure what you mean. MM light has 25 protein and 2 sugar and oh Yeah has 32 protein and 3 sugar . I though these were good ratios
  13. so, I start my liquid pre op diet today. I realized that some of my supplements I bought don't necessarily say whey Protein Isolate which is what the NUT recommended. Is this okay? Detrimental? I bought Muscle Milk Light and Oh Yeah ready made shakes.and now I'm worried I can't drink them. Does anyone know?
  14. So, my surgery is set for March 28th with Dr. Strohm in NJ. I'm excited and nervous. I keep thinking about stupid things like "will I be able to eat sushi again? How hard is it to never drink with a meal as I realize now I wash almost every sip down with a few guzzles. How hard is it to never have a beer or seltzer like I enjoy now? I'm going to Disney this summer, what if I'm outside in the sweatering heat and can't get enough Water down?
  15. Truth, I am so sorry about your complications? My question is why would you have malabsorption with the sleeve since it isn't rerouting like a bypass? If you are eating the right things you should be getting the right amount of food, probably the amount were designed to get not the amount most of us eat?
  16. Dr Strohm anyone? Going to Bayshore March 28th
  17. So, after four months of testing and otherwise, I have a date for the end of March. i'm nervous for many reasons. One is that I don't find out till about a week before surgery if my insurance has approved me so it may all fall to pieces. I'm nervous about the slight chance of complications, as one poster has told the sad story of her sister who died from complications. I have a young son and this story just kills me. I'm also nervous about taking too big a bite, drinking too fast, missing having a beer on the weekend, etc. I still haven't told my dad. He is anorexic technically and barely eats a thing so I'm nervous about his reaction since he's able to "starve" and control himself and deal with the pain and hunger. I'm almost 43 and shouldn't feel this way but I do. I'm also nervous about peoples reactions. It's easier for someone to figure when a person is over 300 pounds why they get bariatric surgery, but i'm tipping the scales at almost 220 and people think I'm ridiculous. I see the pattern and I'm want to do something about it before i'm 300 which is the route I'm going. Any advice? Thanks.
