Omg...! I hate that we are all going through this but I came here to post a similar concern. I'm 3 weeks out and the nausea is horrible. No vomiting but I feel bad day in and day out. It's hard to drink or eat. I had to go to the ER to get fluids just yday b/c I was so dehydrated. I'm beginning to have the 'buyers remorse' I've heard so much about. I hate to be negative but it's been a pretty bad week.

Am I full? Should I eat?
Thx Stephanie! That helps. I'm actually going to see my Nut today but this is such a huge change for me. I'm used to eating whether I'm hungry or not lol I even woke up this morning w/ that same full feeling.

Am I full? Should I eat?
All I've been thinking about while on my liquid diet is eating. Now that I have the clearance to eat certain things the idea isn't as appealing anymore. Today I ate an ounce of fish for bfast (forgot my bfast, so I ate some if my lunch cause I don't want to get in the habit of skipping). I has another ounce if fish for lunch and a mini babybel light cheese circle for a snack. I've been drinking water all day. I don't want to eat, I think I'm full but I ate so little today I don't know if I'm supposed to force myself to eat to meet my protein goal. I don't know if I'm full or just don't want to eat...

$600 Bariatric Program Fee
I decided to pay the $750 fee based off of my surgeons credentials. He was the very first surgeon to use the lap procedure in The tri state area and is head of the national surgeons of bariatric group also I did a lot of research if I wanted who I considered to be the NEXT best I would've had to travel to Texas which including travel and hotel/car rental would have amounted to about the same as my program fee and also he charges a fee of $250. There are other surgeons in Louisiana who I could've used but they ALL charged some kind of program fee which ranges from $250-$1000. I believe it's more about location than anything in some area most if not all require the fee so there's no getting around it. I'm happy with my decision. Also I asked for a itemized breakdown of what the fee was used for and my insurance company has reimbursed me over $500 so it's not so bad after all.

$600 Bariatric Program Fee
I'm not sure about coding but my insurance (BCBSIL) covered my psych visit, the hardest part was getting the shrink's receptionist to file a claim b/c she kept saying 'insurance never covers our visits'. But they did cover it.

What's everyone eating post op...!
I actually do have a large family to cook for: my husband, four kids, my mom, and myself for a total of 7 ppl. Leftovers are a fantasy to me lol. I've always been a bit skeptical of those Atkins meals, thanks for verifying my suspicion. Since my pre op my family has not eaten any fast food and I'm going to try and keep it that way. Those quick meals tend to add up and I can actually see the difference.

What's everyone eating post op...!
Thanks I'm gonna check out that website ASAP! I'm excited to try new things which is really something different for me I was always the one who would order the same thing from restaurants and didn't like to try different things. But I don't want to eat fish and chicken for the rest of my life so I'm preparing lol

What's everyone eating post op...!
I'm currently on my full liquid stage and in preparation for when I'm able to eat regular food I've started to compile a list of post op meal ideas. Please share with me what you all are eating post op and/or links to recipes. I have quite a few recipes I've acquired for my mini cookbook but it really does seem like it may become a mega cookbook. Thanks in advance to anyone who's able to share!

Post op 4/23
Had my sleeve done on4/23 and was releases the following day. Day 2 was the hardest for me thus far. I was having trouble with liquids but as of today I'm doing much better. Protein is a joke right now. I can't stomach the clear protein (isopure) I find it disgusting! Luckily my doctor told me protein is hard the first few weeks for some and to just focus on sipping to stay hydrated. Today has been pretty good pain wise but it was also on today that I started to get hungry. Tomorrow I'll be able to have full liquids and I'm so looking forward to that. I'm dying for some yogurt I have to check my list again to make sure that I can have yogurt but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

how did you pay your insurance deductible?
Geesh that's a high deductible. My deductible was $500 which I met before my surgery so I didn't have to pay anything to the hospital b/c that's all they required upfront. My surgeon had a program fee of $750 ( quite a few do but it differs) which was due the week before surgery and I had to save and pinch pennies to get that together. I have an out of pocket max if $2300 that the hospital told me I would be responsible for but I had to switch hospitals if I wanted a closer date and when I did the OOP max was no longer a factor b/c the hospital didn't require it. So it varies based upon hospitals also.

sick of 'IS THIS NORMAL'
I'm newly sleeved and I've seen so many if those posts that I know when I reach a stall not to panic...it happens. But I also no longer own a scale I plan on using only measuring tape to track progress. However in their defense they are just looking for support and this is the place to get it. I remember wondering, during my lurking phase, why do ppl ask the same question daily about stalls but I just shrugged it off and made a mental note about what to expect and noted that I shouldn't have a melt down if my progress doesn't go as I fantasized that it would...

APRIL SLEEVERS: How much weight did you lose?
That's awesome. I have a feeling I'll do better with my liquids today it's getting easier. I can't tolerate the clear protein drinks which sucks b/c they were so expensive. Tomorrow I go to fill liquids so I'm hoping the protein shakes will be tolerated by my sleeve so I can start getting that in.
