  1. SuperBariatricbabe You Got this-Happy Surgery Day!
  2. Bandeee Congrats on getting approval for your transition surgery on Oct 20th! Soon you'll be back on track to your goal.
  3. Lisacaron sorry to hear about you car accident ..... Adopting one puppy is a challenge but 2 WOW as the human parent of a 8 yr Boston T & a 12 yr calico cat I'm up first thing in the AM for morning walking. They will be the reason I get out for my exercise during WK 2 VSG Post-Op.
  4. Congrat AuriP on getting your walks in. Just got caught up reading all the posts since Beni started this group. Lots of good tips. Thanks Beni for starting this group it helps me keep focused on the long haul. No more struggling up steps, no more airplane seat extenders, no more buying clothes I really don't like just because they fit, no more giving excuses to get out of day trips that consist of walking more than 2 blocks, no more Cpap, no more Pre Diabetes & no more yo yo dieting & weight gain. KarenAllen you got this .... You'll be home soon. October is a great month to finally win the battle!!
  5. Karen hang in there Gladiator - just think how much better you'll feel in 2 weeks, 3 weeks a month & what about all those Too- Large pants you'll be donating by December 1st!
  6. AuriP Sorry your still dealing with nausea & pain. Hope you have a better night & csn get up walking & then can go home tomorrow.
  7. AuriP The best is right around the corner. You got this Gladiator!
  8. Karen glad to hear surgery went well. Beni love the use of the term Gladiator that's exactly how I feel right now during PreOp preparing myself for the long haul to win this longtime battle. I spent the day cleaning out the room that will be my oasis Post Surgery. It's amazing how much stuff you collect put in a of and then never look at it. I feel like I'am clearing out all the baggage preparing myself to kick start my healthier life. 12 days to go. Good luck to all of the October Sleevers!
  9. One of my favorite Apps for tracking my daily food is MyfitnessPal.com I used it all last month and it helped me keep myself honest as I have no ideal how much I was eating before. Today Day 1 of pre-op Prep it helped a lot as I reduced my calories goal down to 1,000 Cause I couldn't remember how many snakes I ate until I looked at what I listed earlier in the day.
  10. Hello October I'm scheduled for VSG on October 14th- started my 2 weeks of Pre-Op liquids today. Didn't quite get all my protein shakes in. I have to start earlier tomorrow. I would enjoy conversation as we each move closer to procedure day. Right now I'm pooped headed to sleep.
  11. Hello NYC/Long Island BP group just wanted you all to know since we met this summer I was approved for VSG and will have my Procedure on October 14th. Getting excited! Hope everyone I met in August is well!
  12. t Thanks for the suggestion I will underline Walking in my "Self Prep" Pre/ Post tasks.
  13. My 6th months of PCP visits & support letter from my primary is submitted and I'm 98% done with all the Pre-Op Tests. Now the waiting for approval & a date begins. I was told maybe thirty days of waiting. So in the meantime although I have no cardiac issues I decided to get a referral from my primary for a cardiac work-up. My Mother had a blocked artery & my brothers had by- pass surgery. My feeling is I want to know the status of all my bodily systems before I enter the OR. So my question to all you Sleeve post op folks is what 3 things do you wish you had been better prepared for during Post Op?
  14. Thank you for hosting an informative meeting today. Lots of Great Info &Tips. I enjoyed meeting All! Major Takeaway "Have a Plan" See you next time!
  15. I plan on attending. My 6 month docs were just submitted to my Insurance for approval. Interested in meeting those who have already experienced pre & Post Op. Is the meeting only open to BP members or can spouses attend as well?
