  1. I'm having trouble figuring out what to bring for lunch... I'll be done with the purée stage on Wednesday so what can I eat now?? Regular food? Like chicken and salads and vegetables and such?
  2. But it's only been a week... That's the scary part
  3. Ever since I switched to puréed I haven't lost any weight... It's been two days now and I'm not liking it one bit ????
  4. Well coming from a very liberal and open upbringing I would say to tell her... My mom had the gastric bypass about 6/7 years ago so I would've been 10 or 11... I knew full well what she was going through... I was at the hospital before and after she went under. My mom, friends (those I've told), and family have been very supportive of me throughout all of this. I knew my options and very glad for that. Also one other thing.. Definitely with something like this (assuming you want to offer her the option to have the surgery herself ) you need to have a certain level of maturity and emotional stability so if she's not mentally prepared for it I suggest seeing a counselor (I do and it's a requirement for someone her age). But if ur just questioning whether or not to tell her I say just tell her. It doesnt directly impact her life.
  5. Is it weird that I just finished a whole bottle of water (16.9 fl oz) in an hour
  6. With my full stomach I knew the difference.. But with this new stomach I'm not so sure... I've been taking Prevacid because I heard acid could imitate the feelings of hunger .. Idk what I'm feeling right now... I just had a couple of spoonfuls of soup and I guess I'm satisfied cuz I don't feel "full" but I don't feel hungry... I think.. I'm having pains in my stomach and back (I think it's from the surgery itself) and I have no interest in eating
  7. No I'm only 6 days post op... It's just that I feel so hungry and I'm having really strong cravings that I feel I'm getting into a mild depression that I will never be able to have my favorite foods again (fried chicken, French fries, etc) ik there will be some things that will/won't agree with me again but it's just really hard to put things into perspective... Like I said it is probably because I feel the hunger during this liquid stage instead of fullness... At this point it still hasn't hit me that I'll only be able to fit 1/2 cup of food in my stomach AND be full with that
  8. Thank you!!! Have you tried eating any fast food post op? If so what kind
  9. So would you say you can eat normally, as much as you did before?
  10. Have u told ur doctor?? Is that cause for alarm?
  11. Yes I heard that acid can be mistaken for hunger but I have been taking Prevacid and I still feel hungry
  12. Yes stop the torture!!!! Is it just me or is tv purposely putting fast food commercials every other commercial ugh...
  13. I would expect since it's sugar free they wouldn't touch it (the pudding)! My mom labels all my "diet" food so that her husband won't touch it lol
  14. I did my surgery at Miriam Hospital in Providence RI, I was the youngest patient to have the sleeve done there (17) and I am really praying things will get better
  15. I am allowed to on my purée stage I believe
  16. Thanks. I think my cravings are so strong because I don't experience that full limitation yet with the liquid diet. I feel I have a basically unlimited tolerance for liquids. I can drink as much as I want but I feel hungry. Hopefully once I get to purée stage I'll feel "full"
  17. I had my surgery this past Wednesday so I'm 5 days post op. I am experiencing that "why did I do this" feeling and I've been feeling hungry the past two days which have me fixated on food & all the junk I'm craving right now (ie. French fries and a burger) .. Have any of you experienced a feeling of hunger a few days after post op like I an right now... I'm in complete torture... I can't wait for the purée stage so I can at least have some squash and mashed potatoes (to curb my starch craving)
