  1. The protein shakes help so much with hunger. Plus, they are good for you. Just force yourself to drink one a day like the doc says to and you're hungery will subside.
  2. Hmmm... good question. I am 4 weeks post op and have little restriction. I am afraid of the same thing. Please help me too!
  3. Thanks Wendell. i"m glad I am almost at my one month celebration. I am sure I will feel great by this point. So far, so good. I do feel like I have little restriction. I am eating bigger bites than I thought I'd be able to eat too. I may go in for a fill at 6 weeks. Plus, I haven't lost any weight in a week.
  4. In accordance with all bariatric recommendations and guidelines for weight loss surgery, all potential patients are required to have a psychiatric evaluation prior to surgery. This may be completed by a psychologist or psychiatrist. Generally, the evaluation takes about 1 hour to complete. The evaluation is used to: Assist in the diagnosis, treatment, or management of a patient's possible mental disorder or behavioral problem. Determine competency in deciding to proceed with LapBand® surgery. Determine if there is a history or dependency on drugs or alcohol. Determine if there is a history of psychiatric illness. Demonstrate the willingness of the psychologist/psychiatrist to follow and treat the patient in the postoperative period if it becomes necessary. Determine the patient's ability to handle stress during the period that follows surgery. Determine the patient's commitment/willingness to follow postoperative protocols.
  5. Screw TIVO! This is my new entertainment! This thread is AWESOME! It's like a freakin' soap opera! I LOVE IT! Keep up the good work.... especially V-girl. You got it goin' on! ********************************************
  6. I don't know! I think I can have anything really. But, I have been eating cooked, soft veggies. I heard that one should not eat raw fruits or veggies for a while, so I haven't. I really don't know what the limitations are. ???
  7. OMG. Have we come to this? I read through the posts AGAIN, just to make sure I wasn't missing something. Nope, I sure wasn't. Everybody seemed to be honest with THEIR experience, for there wouldn't be a reason to be dishonest. I think some people have OVER ANALYSIS PARALYSIS. Just let it be.
  8. Wow. Vancouvergirl... sounds like your having a bad day yourself!

I was banded Aug 27th. At the time, my son was 10 months old. I thought I was going to have help, but my help flaked. I had surgery on Monday and back home Thursday. My son weighed 18 pounds at the time and I picked him up with no problems. Yeah, I was a little sore from surgery, and made sure I was really careful, but everything ended up OK. Good Luck. 13. I lost 80 pounds with Phen Fin and gained back 100.
  14. Yeah, I have the same thing. I think it's scar tissue, but not sure. It's only on that one incision to the far far left. Weird. The other incisions don't have much scar tissue if any at all. I think it's normal. How's your doctor in Reno? I'm in sacramento and still looking for a fill doctor. Reno's only a 3 hour drive.
  15. Well, even though I'm fat, I still get laid once in a while! haha... BUT, it's been a LOOONNNNGGGGGGGG time. About 6 months. I feel the same way. If I don't like looking at me, why would I expect anybody else to? Gross! Funny thing, with every pound lost, there's an increase on the horney meter! Weird huh! Just had to throw that in there!!!! lol
  16. I have a hard time finding veggies that fit into my diet. Does anybody have any suggestions? This is what I do now: Vegetable Soup Steamed Zuccini and Squash Steamed Peas HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. My doctor said no carbonation at all. Even if you can 'handle it'. It can cause erosion and expand your stomach. Too many possible problems. That's just my doctor. A lot of people say it's just fine and have had not problem with it. I drink wine with no problem. I haven't tried vodka or anything yet, but I'm going to. Don't see any problem with anything not carbonated. However, 1/2 glass of wine gets me smashed now! yippi! I'm such a cheap date now!
  18. Week One: Clear Liquids Week Two: Non Clear Liquids Week Three: Mushies, Eggs and Cheese Week Four: Solid Food (experimenting of course)
  19. UCD huh? I have heard of the doc in San Jose before. Sounds good. Also found one in Roseville, CA. My doctor, Lopez did the first Lap Band at UCD! He is a protor for INAMED. Yeah, I know a lot of people here had Dr. Machado, but I wouldn't. sorry!

  21. Thanks a lot. As soon as I'm not sick, I'm getting on the road with the jogging stroller!
  22. I have no problem eating any of those ingredients. However, jelly is not on the approved list of foods. It's high in calories and you'll be eating much more protein than that.
  23. Pre-baby, I was at the gym all the time. And I could afford it! Now, no way. Can't afford it and I'm stuck! I am almost 4 weeks post op and I haven't started execising. I am stuck at 22 #s, so I know I need to get my butt movin'! I have a jogging stroller and live in the foothills, so it's great exercise, but I get tired so fast because of all the hills. It's no fun! Any suggestions? My son loves the stroller, so I have to take him no matter what... AND, any tips on self-motivation?
  24. It's me again! HI! I am 3 1/2 weeks post op. No more port pain... BUT, last night I was sleeping on my tummy and I stretched the wrong way and BOOB! It happened again!
