  5. Do not let that be a deterrent to losing weight, as everyone has stated, it depends on a lot of factors other than elastin of your skin...I allowed that very thought to invade my mind for the 1st few months and I am not one who wants to have surgery to correct the skin(if it turns out to be bad) lol. Massaging, exercise, Water and wrapping are all a part of my fitness plan before and after surgery. Best wishes

Outline the yrs that you have shared with the extra lbs up/downs etc. Allow yourself to walk through the manifestation of what tomorrow and the days ahead will bring for you. (just a suggestion) Keep us posted on your journey....Save room for me on the losers bench

  18. I do have a question as it seems that the posts in which I have been reading differ. Is there a requirement to have the shots(blood thinners to avoid clotting) post op? Congratulations on your sleeve, continued success on your journey
  19. Excitability is the major emotion that I am feeling these days. 18 days to go and I am sure the closer it gets, the more emotionally charged I will feel.

  21. Welcome Jenny, I too am new to this forum, I am having my VSG on 02/27/2014 (18 DAYS) ...I have my pre op and final consult with my surgeon on the 18th of this month. I had to do 5 lifestyle classes, EKG, Chest X-Ray, Psychological evaluation, nutrition consult and blood work prior to approval. I was submitted to insurance 12/16/2013 and received approval 12/19/2013! I have started taking necessary steps in order to assure my preparedness for my upcoming surgery. I have started to train myself to eat; Yoplait Greek 100 yogurt 12g of Protein, Isopure liquid Protein 40g protein and Premier Protein shakes 30g protein...I have the organic low sodium Vegetable & Chicken broths, sugar free Jell-O, popsicles & puddings, 2 oz cups, shakes, immersion blender, organic pureed baby foods(Earths Best) measuring cups, spoons, smaller portioned plates, 3oz bowls with lids for storing. Now I am just passing the days away, I do find that my mind is trying to play tricks on me and tell me that I need to eat even when I am not hungry. This was not an issue until last week, I was not required to do a liquid diet phase prior to surgery(except for the day before) BUT I am going to start one on Monday so that I will understand the dedication that it will take once I have surgery. Good luck to you and I will see you on the losers bench.
  22. Good afternoon, I am new to the forum and scheduled for vsg on 2/27! Super excited for the day to come (18 & counting)
