  1. I saw a YouTube video where someone drained the broth from chicken noodle soup. The broth is a bit thicker and much richer than regular broth. She said it was filled and tasted like fried chicken. Lol.. I hope you find something that works. My date is in 3 days! I have to do 2 day clear liquid before date.. I'm gonna try that liquid fried chicken!!
  2. Day 8 of pre-op sugar busters diet.. My para brings in green cupcakes for St. Patty's day for the kids! A green cupcake has never looked and smell so good! But I made it through! Ive been good so far..I deviated a bit yesterday by having some fried zaxbys tenders but everything else has been baked or grilled. I've only been eating veggies, lean meats, protein shakes and a couple protein candy bars.
  3. Will you be attending the group? I was so glad to find out that if I had previous insurance coverage before this policy my pre-existing condition exclusion would be waived. That's how I was able to get back on track! Glad to hear all is well with you! I asked Dr. Smith if I would have anything in my band initially he said no. Hope you get a good fill tomorrow!!. Were you hungry much?
  4. Ooh Noooo !!! I wanna come! What time??..I just might crash!!
  5. Thanks so much for the suggestions! I purchased some benafiber today. I'm trying to get as much as I can through healthy foods and will supplement the rest.
  6. Congrats on your weight loss so far! Awesome job! I know you're counting down the days! Good luck to you!
  7. Let's post daily to be accountable and keep each other motivated. My pre-op goals are 35 grams of Fiber, 60 grams of Protein, 64 oz water and 30 minutes of exercise. YAY!! I met my goals all my goals for today. With the assistance of Protein shakes and fiber supplements. I dusted off my P90 dvd and popped it in. I'm so excited and tired!! Haven't exercised in awhile but I made the big step of getting started again! First small steps to big changes for the rest of my life! I'm counting this as my official day 1 of pre-op diet. 15 days left!!
  8. Congrats on your loss! I am still in the pre-op phase but I have heard many people say they liked refried beans and cheese, ground beef or turkey pureed with spaghetti sauce and cheese, protein shakes made with greek yogurt and 100% fruit juice. These are just a few things that I said I was gonna try once in that stage. I am loving the GNC banana cream ready to drink lean shake right now. To me it has a good flavor and not an overwhelming protein taste. Hope this helps! Can't wait to see you on the banded side!
  9. My pre-op diet goal set by my surgeon is to have 60 grams of Protein and 35 grams of Fiber daily. I'm having a very hard time getting the fiber in. What are some good supplements and high fiber cereal(That aren't terrible tasting) that will help with this issue. Thanks,
  10. Congrats on your journey! I know you will do great!
  11. I had a talk with my surgeon on yesterday, he assured me that you would not be able to see it and that it wouldn't be a very big port. He said that if you just looked at my chest or rub it you wouldn't know it was there. He said if you applied pressure you would feel it. I trust him, he made a promise that he would do all he could to make this procedure go safely and smoothly and to assist in anyway in helping me reach my goal. In turn I had to promise him that I would try follow the plan to assist my "tool" in doing it's job! I am super excited can't wait! Thank you all so much for sharing with me!! Be blessed!
  12. I had pre-op appt yesterday! I have to start sugar busters diet today but surgery isn't until the 26! Then I have to do 2 days clear liquid before procedure! Good luck to all of you!! I know you all will do well as we all want this so badly!! It's not going to be easy but it's going to be great!!!
  13. Just left my preop appt with surgeon, Sugar buster pre-op diet starts today!!!
  14. Went to GNC today to start my stash! They let me taste the GNC banana cream shake, it tastes GREAT!! They also have a special buy one get one half off. I bought the vanilla and banana cream. I'll prob blend a vanilla (it was kinda sweet) and a Greek yougurt for a high protein smoothie..(when I'm at that stage) . The shakes have 25grams of protein, 2 grams of sugar and 3 grams of fiber, 6 carbs and 170 cal. Just thought I'd share. I know everyone is always looking for protein options that are tasty.
  15. Can anyone recommend a really helpful book on lapband success. I saw several on Amazon not sure which one to order. Thanks
  16. This site has really been a blessing. I'm not banded yet but I have come to the conclusion than non WLS people just don't get it! 'm so excited that it's just hard to talk lap band with people that don't understand or people that would like the surgery but for one reason or the other can't get it. You want to share the good news but I don't want to make those that can't get it feel bad. This is a great place for support, learning and encouragement! 17. I think it all varies with each individual. I am pre-op but I will have 12 days at home before I return to work. I am only using 3 of my days then we are out for spring break anyway. Most people say they can return in a few days. I've read a few posts where they have had major pain and need some extra time at home. I myself wanted time to "bond" with my band before having to around others. I teach k-2 special ed and once I get to work I have zero time to babysit my band. I need have this water and protein drinking thing together before I return.
  18. This site gives me hope!!
  19. I know what you mean about negative feedback! I only told a few select people. People that haven't struggled with their weight just don't understand! Congrats on your decision! Best wishes!
  20. Congrats to you as well Mr. Bill. I only pre-op on the 5th. My surgery date is March 26. I hope you enjoyed your last meal and your pre-op diet goes well!
  21. The hospital called today and pre-registered me for the surgery over the phone. Got my pre-op date, it's March 5th, also have to pay my out of pocket expenses on that day! It's beginning to get really REAL!! It's really gonna happen!.. So excited!
  22. Maybe it's because you have done an awesome awesome job! 70 lbs since December ??? Wow! Keep up the great work!
  23. I can breathe now!!! Due to having continuous prior creditable health insurance coverage for at least 12 months (I had for 5 years!) my pre existing condition waiting period has been waived!!!.. I am back on board for my March 26th date!! Thank you Jesus!!!
