  2. Hey guys sorry I was M.I.A but I have my date changed to the 27th!!! So Ill see you there alxmak1021!!!! Because I have been trying to diet and excercise my whole life under the supervision of my GP i never had to do all that stuff for IHA to approve it all i had to do was pretty must do all the testing they required and that was it...I started the whole process at the end of January and my Surgery is now on the 27th. The steps i took were 1, visit synergy 2. meet with AnneMarie (she had me do a food journal and gave me a diet to start following. Lost 23 lbs because of it) 3. Had my psych evaluation (I saw Dr. Pino on Niagara Falls BLVD 4. Did all of my blood work for my insurance 5. Did the Synergy seminar (about diet and exercise after surgery) 6. Went for persurgical testing 7.Got medical clearance from my GP It doesnt matter the order you do anything in al long as you get it done. It took me awhile to get an appointment for my psych evaluation tho.
  3. free you just show up lol i just learned that buffalo general has free ones too
  4. I do think that they are helpful! Everyone you meet has info that you might not have know before and Its always good to feel welcomed into a group with open arms...I usually feel like Im the odd ball due to my weight or the wls journey Im choosing to take so its nice to be among people who are just like you! Its always good to see the people who live in the same place as you do. It makes everything seem like its possible to do.
  5. OMG!!! you dont even look like the same person!!! Its truly amazing and inspiring!!! You look stunning!
  6. We talked a little about everything....staying motivated to exercise and local events coming up such as walks and bike-a-thons etc, getting back on track once you start being able to eat normal foods again, got a few recipes
  7. absolutely love the meeting at synergy tonight!!!! too bad my surgery date is the same as the next one. I sure would love to be able to go
  8. such small world...met Madelyne Bonthron today at me color class for work! glad that yoy are doing soo well post op and thanks for the info on the shakes!!
  9. Where do you get - Beverly International UMP Cookies and Cream - And is it indulgent because of the price tag? It sounds yummy! It is REALLY good and its a little pricey but I think its worth it! It also has tin lil pieces of cookies in it yummmm! I ordered mine from amazon but also GNC has it and I think the Vitamin Shoppe as well
  10. red velvet cake!!! I pretty good at forgetting about other things but Im always craving red velvet!!!
  11. I like Beverly International UMP Cookies and Cream..it is a little more indulgent than other protein powders out there BUT thats why their brand is sooo good!!! I only have a shake here and there or mix the bland proteins with it. It has 130 calories 3 grams of carbs 1 gram of sugar and 21 grams of protein. Like i said I only drink them when Im having trouble getting the nasty proteins down
  12. March 27th! and Im a nervous wreck about it!!
  13. Thank you soo much Geekmom! You guys are why im soo proud to be apart of this community and why I feel comfortable moving forward with my decision!
  14. Thats what was upsetting me the whole time! Either ppl think there is too much involved with it..the pre op-diet and the psych evaluation etc... but they dont realized that those things, the new lifestyle we are willing to have requires discipline and dedication! Its not an easy thing to go through! The possibility of being sick for foods we eat, having a staple leak and even a possible wls failure are all a risk we feel is a better option than to just be overweight and unhealthy and knocking on deaths door! Other who dont understand the slightest thing about wls or what its like to be the biggest person in the family or in a group of friends shouldnt have anything to say about our decision until they have lived a day in our shoes. Like I said before I told my family because I thought they would honestly be ok and maybe even a little happy for me that I might finally have the tool I need to help me dip the weight for good but in the end I cant care if they dont.
  15. I would like to add go camping in the Adirondacks! A lot of my friends have been before but I know you need to have a certain level of fitness to be able to hike through the mountains.
  16. So my bucket list was pretty boring and simple before I even thought I would be able to lose weight! I hoped for common things like: Getting out of debut Advance in my career get my dream car blah blah blah But now that I have started dropping some lbs I feel inspired and I now dream of doing sooo much more like: Finally learn to swim (i was never comfortable enough to wear a bathing suit or want someone to have to carry my fat behind out of the Water if I drowned) I want to take a pole dancing class Travel overseas (not seat belt extension) run a marathon ride a rollercoaster (before I could never fit into the seats of the seat belts were too small) My list goes on and on with each passing day So what are you dying to do before you die now that you have started or completed your weight loss journey?
  17. i told only my family but like a wild fire its spread sooo fast. and in order to take time off work i had to offer some info either way I plan on having my surgery March 27th! Its just annoying to reach out for support and being only met with unwanted opinions
  18. All of the negativity just makes we wonder how long has this been happening to me and I never realized!! Maybe somewhere down the line with a previous attempt I could have done it..I could have loss more weight but I always had an outside influence that hinder my ability to do it. NO MORE!
  19. my best friend and my mother understand and have supported me since day one and ever since I found this website I honestly feel good about my decision! I wont let anyone make me back out of it my health and life are at stake! I hope you have a wonderful journey as well!
  20. You look amazing!!! Just gorgeous!! I hope my body bounces back like yours did! Keep up the good work!
  21. So..... my brother, some of my friends and coworkers....(all of them who have never been overweight or fat) are reallllly annoying me!! Its like they cant live a normal life knowing I am preparing for WLS, When really its none of their business! I have struggled all my life... I have dieted joined every kind of weight loss program there is, and for 2 years straight I worked out daily with my brother (who lives at the gym) to lose weight and nothing has every gotten me results! And nothing has been permanent! They don't understand what its like to feel miserable in your own body! Or to workout day to day and only lose a few pounds in a few months. I finally have something that can aide me in my never ending journey to shed the pounds and I feel like everyones trying to take that away from me. My one shot of happiness seems to be upsetting everyone around me. Its not like Im taking the easy way out... nothing about WLS is easy and it will be the hardest thing that I have ever done. Just want them to be content with my decision and at the very least keep their mouths closed if they cant be supportive! Is that so much to ask for?! Or at the very least be happy that I have never given up on losing weight and becoming healthier I just decided to chose my way to get there! END RANT. lol p.s. sorry about my run-on sentences (Im famous for them)
  22. You look beautiful!!!!! You are doing soo well because of you wonderful spirit!! Keep doing what you are doing! Wishing you the best of luck!
  23. you can get them at GNC Vitaminshoppe etc. and they are low card low sugar but very high protein!!! ive tried a few different flavors and i havent been disappointed yet!!!! they have like 15 different ones to try so its a matter of finding the ones you like! on thier website they also have peanut butter cups and pasta!
  24. So for those of you who had their operation at ECMC.. how was you visit? Were the nurses nice? Were u able to rest?
