  1. I didn't have one either. My doctor said there was no need.
  2. I have a 1200 calorie a day pre-op diet from my bariatric department. There are specific food groups I have to eat at certain times and everything is weighed and measured. I only have a liquid diet for 24 hours prior to surgery.
  3. Good luck webhopper! You'll do great!
  4. I am doing alright, I am getting more and more nervous as the date approaches and I just realized that we only have a week and a half to go! I am most nervous about the anesthesia and the nausea after that I hear everyone has. My surgeon only requires 24 hours of liquids so I don't have a liquid diet right now but I have a pre-op diet I have been following since February. Yes let's please stay in touch! We are surgery sisters!
  5. kpay I am also having my surgery on 4/30! How are you feeling?
  6. I have surgery on 4/30 with Dr. Khayat too! Would love to keep in touch with you Jones!
  7. Congrats! My surgery is on the 30th! Sending you good thoughts.
  8. There is also the Pure Protein ready made shakes. You can find them in Trader Joe's. There are two kinds, one has 21g protein and the other has 35g protein. The chocolate and vanilla ones are great! I tried the cookies and cream one that Pure Protein has and it tasted REALLY bad. It tasted like coconut and not at all like cookies and cream.
  9. Yes they have Strawberries and Cream in the Premier Shakes. They are pretty tasty!
  10. I was a fairly big diet anything drinker. I am still pre-op and stopped drinking all carbonated drinks in January. I decided that since I wasn't going to be allowed to have carbonated drinks ever again that I would have one as a last hurrah. Well I took about 3 sips and it tasted gross. The carbonation burned my throat too. It's interesting how our tastes change when we stop eating/drinking a specific item.
  11. I can definitely relate to your post hopeful! My surgery is on the 30th and I am so freaked out about the entire thing. To top it off I got to reading a thread about all of these people who were regretting what they did (all post-op). My big thing is that when I get scared I run. I had a SUPER long talk with my husband about it. In the end, all of the advantages of the surgery trumphs any negative ones or scary feelings I am feeling. For me, I just have to keep understanding that the way I am feeling will go away. I just need to keep in mind all of the positives of surgery and letting the negatives take a back seat.
  12. Nope I didn't get it. Try sending it again?
  13. My doctor has the same 24 hour requirement. Which makes sense, because we have the same surgeon! Glad to hear he's consistent! BueSea, what date is your surgery?
  14. My doctor is only requiring liquids for 24 hours before surgery. I have been seeing so much about the liquid pre-op diet that it was strange that I was not required to do a 2 week liquid diet. I think every doctor is just different, that's all I can come up with.
  15. That's awesome! I am nervous about my surgery but hearing that you had a pretty smooth time really helps. Thanks for the update.
  16. I have been nervous too and I just got my surgery date yesterday. I just keep telling myself that I am doing the right thing, what's best for me. And that my life will change for the positive after this. I am trying to look at a chance at a new and improved life.
  17. What an awesome difference! Congrats!
  18. I am also with Kaiser SSF. My date is 4/30. I am with Dr. Khayat. Would love to hear how your experience was.
  19. BlueSea71 and photogirls510 I am also at Kaiser SSF with Dr. Khayat as my surgeon! I am scheduled for 4/30. I would love to stay in contact with both of you as well!
  20. Good luck and congrats! My date is the 30th and I am feeling the anticipation and a slew of other emotions.
  21. Hey jbyler. There is a thread called, the first 12 weeks." You should read it. It really put me at ease and gave me alittle insight of what's to come. I get that everyone is different but it gave me a chance to mentally prepare myself of what's to come. You need to give yourself more of a chance than three days. Hold onto the reasons why you chose to be sleeved. You are strong and will get through it. The ice is fine on the incisions. My MD said use it as long as you're comfortable doing. It's Aldo good for gas pain on your shoulders. YOU CAN DO THIS!!! And we are all here for each other to vent and complain. Once you finally get on a scale you are going to be so happy!!! Somuch2much - where is the thread called "the first 12 weeks" posted? I searched for it but couldn't find it and I would like to read it. Thanks!
  22. I just received my surgery date! The big day is 4/30!
