  1. Thanks Food is staying down well. No real issues with eating. I'm allowed 4 oz max puréed protein (I do 3 oz and don't always finish) three times a day plus I have to take in 64 oz fluids. I can't drink for 90 minutes after I take my first bite of food. That makes it hard to get my liquids in.
  2. My doc told me to take the fiber daily until I add veggies back into my diet if that helps. I am on much different diet than everyone else. I started purées on post op day 3. I start soft proteins next Monday. It makes me feel like this isn't going to work. Like I love my dr and trust him, but I've literally cried over it to my husband that I'm already like eating food and a lot of people on here are still on liquids. I've been swallowing pain meds since my last day in the hospital. I'm just feeling like this isn't going to work.
  3. I took only one Dulcolax so far. I only went that one day too. I've been doing Benefiber daily. So maybe I need to do another Dulcolax.
  4. I called my dr's office cuz I was having the same problem. They told me to add benefiber to my liquids and take a Dulcolax. I did and it worked for me.
  5. Such a great video! So inspirational! Congrats to you on your hard work and success! Hope to have the same results myself!
  6. Thinking of you, girly! Been noticing you're not on here much. So sorry you're having a rough time. I was too. Had an emotional breakdown myself yesterday thinking about how much I've given up - diet coke, coffee, and especially cigarettes. I wanted to smoke so bad yesterday and I literally sobbed about it. All I can say and think is that this will be all worth it eventually. Please let me know if you need anyone to talk to. Here for you. <3
  7. Thanks! It felt really good to do something so simple without the huffing and puffing and discomfort it used to cause me.
  8. I'm only about 8 days post surgery, but I had my first (of many hopefully!) NSV last night. I painted my toenails comfortably! Small victory, but it felt like a big deal!
  9. I definitely had that thought. I was worried about leaving my daughter motherless at age 5. But I'm 8 days out and doing great! It's a normal thought. Don't worry, you'll be great!
  10. MizNola, I'm not a vet. I had my surgery 2/17. I just wanted to say that I'm right there with you in terms of feeling only a little restriction. Thanks for posting cuz I thought it was just me.
  11. Who's your surgeon? I was told the same thing by my surgeon's office as well.
  12. Yes I had my lapband removed my hiatal hernia repaired and my VSG all I'm the same surgery. It was a piece if CAKE! Well thanks for the replies! I am just trying to figure out why I have so much pain still and I was chalking it up to the hernia repair. Guess not! lol
  13. Hi Ginga! I was sleeved 2/17. I'd be interested in a support group.
  14. Did any of you ladies have a hiatal hernia repair at the same time as your VSG?
  15. Thanks for the reassurance, Jen! And as always, thanks for the laughs, SJ!
  16. **Warning - possibly TMI** (lol) Okay all you poopers. I had my surgery Monday and no poop for me yet. I'm eating puréed proteins 3x a day. At what point do you all think I should be concerned? Oh, also got another period yesterday, too! Had one on the 7th and another one showed up yesterday. Really?! I don't know if I should be worried about it or not.
  17. And Sassy, thanks for the other tuna ideas. I'll have to try those out.
  18. I am starting to worry that maybe I'm doing something wrong. I'm actually hungry and I'm eating almost 3 oz of pureed protein three times per day per my surgeon's instructions. I'm just seeing everyone else's meal plans and now worrying that I'm going to not lose anything and this is going to all be for nothing.
  19. It's crazy to me how much all of our diets differ. My center progresses us to puréed Proteins on post op day 3. We are allowed to add butter, mayo, oil, broths, etc. to the Protein. I've had chicken salad, tuna salad, and eggs so far. They've all been decent actually. Buy some good spices and add them to the protein. I have a horrible gag reflex and thought that I couldn't do the purées, but it's not as bad as I thought it would be actually. They say your taste buds change after surgery, so maybe you'll like some things now that you didn't before. You never know till you try.
  20. I was unbelievably sore and incredibly nauseous (dry heaving, etc.) for the first few days. They have us stay 2 days overnight, so I was released Wednesday and I was feeling human at that point. I'm slowly getting better and better every day. I'm sore on my left side mostly. It's hard to get up and down, in and out of a car, in and out of bed, etc. I'm on puréed Proteins three times a day now. So far Ivd had chicken "salad", tuna "salad", and eggs. The eggs were the hardest to get down because I didn't make them super creamy (gross!!).
  21. Good luck today! Wishing you a speedy recovery!
