I have Cigna open access plus and they told me twice that in January they discarded the three months all together. Here I was excited enough to pee my pants and my surgeon office say Noway I had to do three anyway cause I was sure to be denied!! So I did three months and paperwork in at insurance now waiting for Approval!

Mine went in on Monday and I have called twice!! Heeheee I just can't stand it and told me Again that's a 15 day process!! (Roll my eyes)!

I have GWH Cigna and in waiting now for Approval. Just wondering if anyone else has it what their approval time was?

Good to know cause today they said it was pending and could be a 15 day process. I just keep hearing people getting approval in 5 days. So I guess I'm gonna keep calling!

BigGirlPanties I am actually waiting on insurance approval for gastric bypass. So glad others understand. All my friends are thin and just dont get it.

Wow our stories are the same. Growing up fat and the never ending jokes have made me cry, hide and not trust people. I had the lap band and lost over 100 pounds. Even after it slipped I felt sick that I was going to have it removed cause no oneDe fun of me only compliments. Now 6 years later and I am back at my 300 pounds. I am 47 years young and so ready for my surgery. Those hurts last a life time.

So all paperwork went to insurance Monday. When you guys think it okay to start calling? I have Cigna insurance. I am totally obsessing!!

I have had three people very close to me have RNY including my mom. I know the weight loss and side effects they have had. All have been a but different but they have done amazingly well.,my surgeon also Encouraged me for RNY because he said I would have scar tissue from the band and it would be an easier surgery. The biggest side effect my mom had was no sugar. She eats very little of it and and does great.

I think we all have to what's best for us. After going thru the pain of my band slipping and throwing up everything that was not liquid and losing way to much hair I was convinced after I had to have it out I would maintain my weight. It slowly came back I after research and checking out every bit of info I could I know gastric bypass is good for me. I don't want to leave the house had depression sore knees, hips and ankles., tired all the time! No sex drive( poor husband ). I am worth it ! We all are! I do t want to die from this sickness!! I don't want to live half a life!! So glad I have friends on here that really are in my same boat!

I had my band slip 5 years ago. I exercised like a mad woman did every diet and took every pill under the sun with finally gaining all my weight back. I am having gastric bypass hopefully in May. All my paper work gets sent next monday. I am excited to be the real me God intended strong and healthy.

Wow that's a lot of pages!! Mine goes into insurance next Monday so I am interested in how long approval takes. Have you called them?

Just seen ur post Nd I also have Cigna. Did it take the 4 weeks for approval? Mine go to insurance next Monday. I have the need to speed on this!! Lol

Oh and here I thought I was the only one that dotted and crossed everything!! I babysit teachers children to have breaks off with my own kids. I have worked appt. down to a science just to get everything down. I have a son graduating June 8 so I am hoping to have it done before. My info gets faxed to insurance April 14 so it's gonna be tight but I think I can do it. Hoping insurance approves very fast!!

Just curious on what insurance you have? And how long it takes for approval.

Hey there! I am sending all my info in to insurance April 15. That's my end of three month weight check. Hoping for a may surgery!! Good luck!! I super excited!!

Dr. Evanson is doing mine. They called me on a Wednesday to set up a time for all my test and they only do them on a Friday . They had that Friday open so I took it. I had them all done in one day in Logansport. I got a call 12 days later with a surgery date. Oh wow that's great!! I just love dr evanson. He did my lap band surgery even though I had to have it moved to no fault of his or mine. It slipped! So I would have no one else do mine. I praying for a may surgery!!

Then I guess we're r neighbors!! Dr. Evanson is doings surgery but I don't think it wi be until May. After u got insurance approval how long til you got ur surgery date?

I am from Logansport that is about an hour north of Carmel. I am having RNY with dr. Evanson. He is in the same office as dr. Inman. I should have all my papers sent to insurance by April 14 so I hope for a May surgery.

Oh I am so sorry! I don't know much about medic loans other than that I hear they cost way too much. Can you ask your employer to ask weightloss surgery to the plan? I have also heard of company's doing that. It's just not right. With Cigna OAP I guess I thought they had same coverage?
