I live I. Logansport it's north of Indy. Dr. Evanson is doing mine. Angel just went on maternity leave so I am dealing with Shalanda and love her!! How long after ur approval did you get ur surgery?

Cigna said all they needed was a medical clearance letter so we faxed it to them and my surgeon said we may not hear from them for two weeks! Well guess what??? I am going to call everyday!!! If they only need one paper then I don't think it should take two weeks!

Update: insurance wants a letter of medical clearance from dr. So I got that faxed to them and they said it could be another two weeks before I hear anything!! Over one paper?? My surgeons office said they would call me as soon as they heard!! If all they wanted was medical clearance wouldn't it be approved? And not take 2 full weeks?

Well I got my medical clearance letter faxed into insurance just like they asked for so I didn't hear a no! Lol so Hoping Monday I hear a yes!!! It really is life or death. I feel my body slowing down and I still have a 7 year old that keep me moving!!

Oh my gosh!! What did they say you were denied for? My heart is breaking!! I know the frustration!!

Update: my dr called this am and just told me all the insurance needs is a letter of medical clearance. My dr did a letter of reference but they want to to say cleared for surgery!! I might have a approval todAy!! I can't breathe!!

Oh thanks so much for asking! I called Dr again and I have a new gal that called me back cause other is on maternity leave. Sholanda is amazing!! She called me back and told me she is my advocate and will be calling insurance today and speak with the supervisor. She said they need to understand I did everything right and I pay my premiums. She will call me back this afternoon. I am trusting and praying!!

Wow, I just called Dr again and left another message. Told them I had very high anxiety and Asked if we could resubmit or do a peer to peer. Sure is almost here and wanted to enjoy it!!

Hi have you heard from insurance yet? I called surgeon yesterday and no response so I just think I will call Gain. Not sure if they fully understand our anxiety!! Just throw me a bone!! Lol Insurance said they did not receive clinical papers but they did. I just don't know what the hold up is. Did ur dr tell you why the long wait? Did u have to resubmit everything?

Well, today I called surgeons office and had to leave message. Hoping to hear good news about my approval. Insurance messed up paper work denied me now the supervisor is suppose to look at it. It's been 3 weeks!! Praying to good news...

January for me too! That's when I had my first dr weight check. In the beginning I was hoping for a late may surgery but now I guess June would be nice. Lol my son graduates June 8 and was wanting it done before then. Everyday I pray with my husband it will be approved. They have had it three weeks Monday!

Yes of course I will pray!! My patience is running thin too!!! Wish my approval would hurry! Insurance drives me insane

Oh my gosh this is what happend to me. They said I didn't have all mine but I did!!! 35 pages were sent. My dr. Office talked to supervisor And gave her my name said two others were waiting too!! You from Indiana??

I am going on day 15 waiting. Praying to hear good news today! Feeling like I am in holding and can't move! So ready to get a date for surgery and get into recovery!!!!

Well my surgeon office sent all paperwork to Insurance the same day they got it but I am going bonkers on waiting for the insurance. They claimed they didn't receive everything which is not true so my dr had to call and make the supervisor look at it so everyday May surgery I was hoping for is getting later. Still having high hopes and trusting The Lord!!! Patience is NOT my friend!!!

All my paperwork is at insurance. Hope to hear approval news anyway!! Can't wait for surgery date. Maybe beginning of June!

After my band removal is worked my booty of to keep the 130 I lost at bag. Here i am 300 pounds of gaining it all back waiting for RNY approval from insurance. Frustrated and feeling like a failure. My dr convinced me to do RNY because of scare tissue and if had did sleeve my Stomach would not do good from scare tissue being in the way. So here I do for round two!!

After talking with insurance and my dr. I have found out the I had 35 pages of why I need this surgery. Insurance says none of my clinical papers were there but my dr. Called and made sure they were and so the supervisor is reviewing it herself. My dr thinks they just didn't want to look at all 35 pages and told me this has been happening too often. So I call back next week. Praying hard and trusting The Lord!!

As of now I don't know why I was denied. Insurance on said not medically necessary. I will talk with my dr. Tommarow. For peets sake my BMI is 42. I did three months of weight checks via 90 days. I have HBP, acid reflux. Wishing for that rainbow!

I so frustrated!! Paper work sent Monday called insurance Tuesday not in system. Called Wednesday it was pending. Called today...denied! But the insurance gal said I was denied Monday! How can it be pending after it was denied? She said didn't your dr. Call you with the reason why it wasn't medical necessary ? Of course I said no. Called my dr and of course they were closed! Why oh why can't it work put?
