  1. Someone told my husband that I'll need to replace food with another type of crutch, like alcohol. I already had shopping for new, smaller clothes picked out as my food replacement but I wondered if you had heard of increased alcohol consumptions. Also, he thinks I wont be able to go out to dinner or really socialize. Im sure that will improve over time but I think he worries that I'll be some kind of anti-social freak.
  2. I have a quick question; why Mexico? This is the first I've heard about surgery there rather than US.
  3. Thanks so much, this is really helpful. I think I'm more worried about caffeine issues than food! I better start weaning myself off of it now.
  4. I've been reading posts and see that some doctors require diets with no caffeine. I'm not as worried about giving up food as I am coffee and iced tea. Is this temporary, just pre-surgery? Wouldn't unsweetened iced tea be included in a liquid diet? Thanks, total beginner here and just now scheduling surgery class, NUT and MH visits for surgery late April/May.
  5. Hi, I'm new to the process and just 3 months into my required 6 mos of weight loss visits with my PCP. I have a list of the requirements from insurance and was pre-approved. I was assigned a bariatric weight-loss case manager and will complete all requirements on the list. I assumed approval was routine and provided if all of the boxes are checked. Have some of you found that it is more arbitrary? Should I add this to the list of things I worry about?
