  1. I am doing the RNY. They told me I'm not a candidate for the sleeve because I have real bad heartburn all the time. Which hospital did u have your surgery at? My insurance will only pay for physicians specialty hospital. Who did your surgery?
  2. I am in springdale. I am going thru Dr Roller.
  3. Hello! My name is Jennifer. I am kinda new to the weight loss surgery thing. I started a program in july of last year but i had to quit because my insurance said being overweight is a pre-existing condition. So I got a pretty nice bill for labs and all that good stuff. My husband's work changed insurance and luckily their requirements for WLS are a way easier than the previous insurance. I don't have to do a six month diet or a psych eval. I already had paperwork from my current psychiatrist stating that I am good to go. I even had three year worth of weights, that are no longer required. They accepted the letter from the psychiatrist as my mental evaluation, which made me pretty happy. All I need to do is the EGD and I should be good to go. I am wondering how fast this process is going to go since I am not required to do a six month diet. Its a little overwhelming to me. Sorry if I rambled, I am just excited. Jennifer
  4. Hello! I am sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I had a little insurance issue so i got discouraged and decided to quit the program. However I am back now. My husbands job switched insurance companies and I thru my pre-existing phase, yes, being overweight is considered pre-existing. The new insurance doesn't require a 6 month diet or pscyh eval. I already had the pscyh eval though. I just have to be over 18, bmi over 40, and do it thru a bariatric center of excellence. I feel very fortunate that i do not have to jump thru a bunch of hoops. I just have to do the EGD and lab work. When is your surgery date? I hope you are still on here. Jennifer
  5. I don't have a date yet, but I am very nervous about drinking the magnesium citrate. I have had it before and could not keep it down. Should I talk to the doctor about this or should I just bare it and force it down?

I just found out today that my insurance, United Healthcare choice plus, doesn't require a supervised diet or psychological evaluation. They only require a bmi over 40 and a bariatric center of excellence. I feel so fortunate. Now I just have to get approved.
